  2. its 11 PM, tuesday night. My dad is reading the paper, i'm watching TV. He bring the paper down to me and shows me an article headlined.....

Wanted: 15 year-old males who like to play video games

To sum up the article, i go into a near university and play computer games for 5 hours and get paid 50 bucks. 10 bucks an hour, not bad. Its part of the neuropsychology lab, and there looking for development changes in personality factors and how brain growth affects it. They'll also look at shyness, and willingness to take risk and how hormone levels affectt hem. They say they do boys at this age because of the change and what not and they don't do girls cause of the whole cycle thing. the last reason they gave for having boys is were more risky!!!! So it had a number and ext. to leave a message so i did and there supposed to call me back! ahhhhh what a great day tahts going to be!

  3. So me and the parents talked alittle bit more today and know there saying there considering it. What that means i dont' know  .....I probalby won't get it for another month atleast so my mom can do her research but i have a plan. I'm going to tell you what i think is a reasonable price for us to get a new video card and our specs and you guys tell me what my best decision is. My main reason for upgrading is JO. Atleast this way i have a new video card and still play it even if it is laggy. Also, if we do get our video card, hopefully while its getting installed, my mom might upgrade a bit more too get it runner faster. So i'm thinking $300-250 CDN. Here are what i know of my system specs...

    Windows ME

256 MB of ram(Caine suggested i upgrade this over at TE, how much will that cost)

    Radeon SDR(replacing this)

Intel Pentium 4 CPU 1.50 GHz Genuineintel ~1507 MHz

    31.22 GB of free space

Uhhh tell me what else you need to know and where to find it on my comp and i'll let you know......

    (i'm determined to get JO!!!!!!!!!!)

  4. hey, i just downloaded some cool .FLA files and i don't know how to open them to view them. when i double click i get asked to open them or save them, if i hit open another window comes up asking for me to open or save. if i save, it saves then i go to open it then i'm back to the open or save window  . How do i open them? do i need a certain program?

  5. I found this on IGN. i don't see it being a hit but could be a interest to some of you.

July 22, 2004 - Sometimes, you make something instantly more interesting by setting it in the future. Consider Blade Runner as a detective movie set in the future, with the officer's identification with the criminal shifted over to his identification with the android. Consider Aliens as an action movie, with the beasties taking the place of Commies or the generic Middle East bad guys popular at the time. There is a science fiction aesthetic in these films, but the technology is more of a thematic prop than an element of the plot. Anyways, Alpha Black Zero is being developed by Khaeon, a Dutch group that's been around since 1999, although ABZ seems to be the only title on its resume, for now. It takes the tactical first-person shooter theme popularized by RS6 and launches it some 260 years into the future, where the Earth is united under one government but still troubled by the same old controversies and corruption.

ABZ stars Lieutenant Kyle Hardlaw, the leader of a special operations unit, and it opens up with him undergoing a tribunal for killing some government officials during a secret mission. The game itself plays as a flashback of those events. The build we received starts out in the middle of the game's 17 missions. There's three levels of enemies in the game, starting with colonists, then mercenaries, then a group with the same training and abilities as your own. However, you can also choose from three difficulties. Interestingly, the different degrees don't just give them more hit points or more damage. The higher the difficulty, the more enemies you'll face, and they'll have more stamina, aim better, and they'll using regrouping, tactical retreat and flank tactics. You actually won't want to engage each group you encounter. Enemies will react to you on sighting you, and will be listening for you, and we're told their behavior is not scripted.

The graphics are based on the Serious Sam engine, and it actually looks fairly good, especially the long view distances. There's so much terrain on screen, in fact, that we had to turn down some Windows settings for this build. In-game, you have a bunch of performance options, although they're not quite as deep as you'll find in Serious Sam.

Each of your five-man group is outfitted with a main weapon, sidearm, and grenades. You can set the sidearm as main preference if you want to conserve rifle/machine gun ammo, unless you get in a big firefight. You can also order them to use "precision fire" which will make them fire slower and more accurately, but there's also a morale factor; the enemy may react more aggressively if they see you being conservative. You won't have an endless supply of ammo, so it's a potentially challenging balance, but you can scavenge supplies from the area.

ABZ uses intuitive keyboard shortcuts for commanding individual squad members or the group as a whole. The Regroup command will have them follow you, and you can order them to hold position or hold fire. While the command list is a little pared down from other titles in order to keep the learning curve low, it would be nice to see "fire on my target" and/or "wait until I fire" added, instead of simply firing or not firing, especially since the enemy is supposed to be fairly advanced and dynamic. You can split the squad up if you want to hit multiple objectives that you think will be lightly defended, but different guys will have different gear--some will have scoped rifles, others will have submachine guns, and so forth. So some planning and consideration is in order. That's what makes it a "tactical" shooter, natch.

In addition to just cutting bad guys down, there's also going to be escort missions, defend missions, infiltration, and bomb placement and bomb defusing missions, although this build only had one mission. Still, that sounds like a lot of variety to me, and it's supposed to become more difficult as you progress. Those of you who dig co-op will be pleased to know that ABZ supports up to five players, with each one controlling someone in the squad.

Alpha Black Zero is scheduled for a Q4 release, so we'll have more on it in the coming months.

I bolded what i thought was interesting to GR fans. I could have done more but just did alot so people got the idea!

  6. Can you control individual soldiers? Can you shoot from a first person POV?

FSW is based on controlling squads of men. It was created to teach squad leaders how to command, not to simulate individual control of soldiers. While we may let you give individual fire sectors in the final game, letting you have full control of an individual soldier disrupts the flow of the game and actually removes you from your command position

    Hope that helps
