It may just be me, but it looks like it could be the unreal engine (not that I have anything against it) but hey, what do I know about engines? lol

It's hardly like the current method in GR could be described as a "slow lying down" motion. You can hit the deck pretty quickly should the need arise; all it takes is two successive taps of the 'X' key.
And, to me, the addition of an "energy meter" is just another unnecessary item on the HUD. The less cluttered the interface, the better, in my view.
Ok just dont display the engergy meter, you'll get short of breath when jumping to much .

Ok given the sketch above, what are you gonna do? Slowly clamber over the object? NO you are gonna jump it and dive! to prevent the bunny hopping, all the Devs would have to do it create an energy meter.

Hey all you guys who said that OFP has bad GFX, take a look at this,
@ those who are unsure about buying: get the demo and see if you like the GAMEPLAY if you do, buy the game and get the mods that change the look, and then play the game
for me the Y2k3 mod, which updates the models, didnt install to the correct directory, and good thing, because i didnt follow all of the directions...plus the shorcut was wrong, as I didnt have the flashpointbeta.exe in my OFP files, so I just changed the target on the shortcut, and volia!
it has a slight system impact mabye 5-6 FPS -

do you know where I can get this beta patch?
because I downloaded from codemasters the file: ofp_goty_patch_196.zip
and installed it, there is no Flashpontbeta.exe in my folder....

erm I having some problems with mods...
I got the USMC pack, and I heard that to use a mod you have to make a mission so I *tried* to make a basic mission, I put some bad guys and some good guys, a couple vehicles and make a USMC colonel controlled by player, I tried to start it up in single missions, but it just spits me back to the main menu...what am I doing wrong?
also the short-cuts to the USMC mod target this:
"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTBETA.EXE" -mod=MTCO -nosplash -nomap -connect=207.179.200.211
there is no FLASHPOINTBETA.EXE in my OFP folders
same with the Y2k3 mod, it targets FLASHPOINTBETA.EXE hello? there is no FLASHPOINTBETA.EXE....

that is the freakist thing I have ever heard! lol, I have never seen nor wish to see, promotional stickers!

side note: cool OFP has day to night, and vice versa changes! I was playing a night mission and saw the sun begining to rise!
there is this utility that makes the water reflect, however I get like 5 FPS when in a forest...
so I turned that off, it was cool tho -
plus the cheeky %*%(@&*%^ mechanics put a "Genie performance exhaust" (the compnay name) on my back window

@ Hatchetforce I have 1.96, most of the servers had that, so I got it, the latest version.
After windows crashes and starts back up, it sends the error report, 5 time out of 10, it says that it was a GFX driver problem, and told me to get the latest driver, well that can't be the problem can it? I have used the lated patch and it crashed, and I used an older patch, it still crashed...
@ SN The ball point pen that has the GoGamer Label on it comes with all purchaces I believe, I have not tried it yet, as it might be a colecters' item, worth millions!

yes I did, game still crashed, so i instaleld an older verision, still crashes

well crud, My system randomly restarts after playing OFP for a while, my pleasure is waxing thin... I barley get 20 FPS in-game....oh well
my system specs are:
OS: Win XP
Ram: 512 DDR
Processor: AMD athlon XP 2500 1.83 GHz
Graphics card: NVIDIA geoforce 4 (FX 5200) 128 mg of ddr memory

When I first heard about ofp, my first thought was, as always, to go download the demo, one of the first things I thought of was not that great GFX, however I dont notice that ingame. When I began my first mission (demo) I didnt really know the controls, and on top of that I kept getting killed, I didnt like it lol. I uninstalled it a month or so later I re-installed it, was just as bad, a bit better, but me didnt like, so I uninstalled 1 more time. Then I heard all the OFP praiseing on these forums and I started to drool over VBS1, so I redownloaded all the demos and played them, and liked it! alot, it had grown on me. If you dont like the characte modles, check this out.
