Thanks for the quick replies! I'm running an Athlon 1800 w/512 MB, NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX/MX400 w/64MB. I have DS patched to 1.3.
Firefly 2442: There is an error message on the screen but it goes away before I can read it. I'll try to get it next time...
Jack 57: You're the BEST modder...I'll try reinstalling my drivers (4.0.7.2)

Well, I couldn't leave well enough alone, had to try some tweaks linked here in one of the forums . Now I'm playing Band OF Bros and occasionaly getting the ol' blue screen that says somethings wrong and starts dumping my "physical memory". It seems to happen after a lot of re-starts, I click re-start and ...boom... blue screen. Never had this problem before the tweaks, in fact, never had a blue screen with XP until now.. Of course I can't remember exactly what I did but I think I may have done something to the amount of memory allocated to something. The "system restore" feature doesn't work in my XP, the result of a previous misadventure. Please help, Thanks

Thanks for all the help! I think I'm going to be OK now...SOTOMac's advice will undo the memory tweak I did (I could not remember how I did that). My setting was at 720 MB (the recommended tweak) for the virtual memory so I bumped it to SOTOMac's 1024.
My path to get there was slightly different...I'm using XP home edition so I went:
control panel, system, sys properties, advanced, performance, settings, performance options, advanced tab, virtual memory, change tab, ...then enter your settings in the windows and click OK. I wasn't prompted to reboot but did anyway. I will post any interesting developements....
Again, thanks for the responses!
