  1. Quite late, aren't I? Yes, it does appear that I accidentally removed that file when I was clearing out my Google Drive. While I don't have access to the same mod file right at this moment, I will be able to access it later this week and will upload it and post a link here as soon as I do. However, if you'd like to use the sounds now, they are already included in the Xbox conversion mods since the higher quality sounds originated from the Xbox releases of the game - only if you don't mind using the rest of the changes that the mod brings (mainly visual, but some extra features are included as well as of yesterday's latest release.)
  2. 3 and a half years later, another time for an update to a now 10 year old mod. While I don't mean for my releases to be so few and far between, unpacking and understanding the game can be difficult, especially since this nudges up against elements that are hard-coded into the game. =============================================================================================================== Today, the release of the mod now allows the ability to select different platoons when playing cooperative game modes in multiplayer, possible in the Original Xbox release of the game. Do you want to be a Russian and fight other Russians in Firefight? Go ahead! Want to have two or more platoons hunt each other down while also fighting enemies in Firefight, Recon or Defend in a PvPvE match? Knock yourself out. Today's release doesn't change much. Since I wanted to mess with the game again, I am still having the same issues on porting the videos over to play in place of the shipped videos. However, now more female actors can be put into the player's platoon if you select a kit restriction that's labeled Xbox - a new addition to this mod as well. Unfortunately, this results in two-thirds of your entire team to be rifleman units, I can't figure out how to randomize what units are chosen. It seems to be based on what order the actors are laid out in the file. In the Xbox version of the game, you could assign yourself to different platoons that wasn't the Ghosts in multiplayer campaign. This functionality is planned to be added, but I'm not sure if it can be. However, a workaround is available if you wish to explore this, just note that there are some issues that come along with this. The process is outlined in the Update Log read me. One big thing I still plan on doing is adding the Xbox maps to the game, but the files are a different file type than those that the PC uses and Igor can't open them, so porting those maps may simply not be possible. Much isn't changed, but some of the maps are smaller due to some sections being blocked off. Most may not prefer it, but it will be optional if you choose to experience the game like the Xbox version. Overall, I don't plan on this being the final release, but I would not expect another at this point as there's not much more that I can do to bring it to parity with the Xbox version of the game due to technological limitations. I know at some point I had another 2.4.1 release that included different features than what's being released today, but I was working on while on another system and do not have access to those files at the moment. If I can retrieve that work, I will likely release that as 2.4.2. *** NEW: Comment on the pack and any issues/suggestions you may have. 3. Hi all! I'm releasing a standalone sound mod for Ghost Recon. The Xbox releases of the games used much higher quality sounds than the PC version did, and I'm not sure why. The console had more space constraints than the PC. Either way, most of the sounds remain identical, only their bitrate has changed from 22500 to 44100, resulting in a much clearer sound. Voices see the biggest benefit, your team will sound much better, and the Ethiopian enemy soldiers sound like actual people now!!! The quality of their voices has always bothered me, but it has now been dramatically improved. Some sounds have not been changed, and that is due to the fact that some of them didn't have a higher quality version available, or the difference was negligible or adverse to the current audio quality. I am releasing this on its own and on a separate thread, so those who don't want to use or play with the Xbox Conversion active all the time now have access to just improved sounds as well as giving it its own publicity. I hope you enjoy the better quality sounds for the game, this game has been around for a long time and this is a good way to breathe a little bit of life back into your experience. 4. Hi all, Today I am releasing update 2.4.0. This is a massive update in terms of additions (and size!) The Island Thunder conversion gets the most changes this update. This update sees few game play additions, but most importantly, A SOUND UPDATE!!! This is an update I've wanted to do for a while but it was too overwhelming to me due to my work life. Small sound addition here, small sound addition there in prior updates, but I've finally been able to set time aside and work on this. This mod includes many changes to the sound of the game. These files were used in the Xbox version, they sound mostly the same but the bitrate is 44100 instead of 22500, dramatically increasing the sound quality. The most notable quality change is in Desert Siege, the enemies no longer sound as if they are speaking through a fan into a ham radio in a booth small enough to only fit DJ Rick and Bubba inside. Only very few sounds have changed, which is only some of the Russian Voice lines. Sounds that have not been changed were either due to the fact of there was no higher quality version inside the Xbox game files, or it was negligible or adverse to the current audio quality. I am also releasing the HD Sounds mod as a standalone for those who do not want to use the Xbox Conversion mods. In addition, the Island Thunder conversion also contains a d_unlockedheroes.xml to allow you to use all specialists in Desert Siege quick missions. I hope you all get a kick out of this one. 5. Hi all, I'm starting a thread since there is a roadblock in the development of the GR:XC and IT:XC mods. Here are my questions: How do I add a ambient flash when shooting a gun? e.g. A yellow light around the player to illuminate the surroundings as well. How do I allow other platoons for co-op game modes other than blue team? How do I export .wmv into .avi without sacrificing quality too much, but also at a respectable size rather than 1GB+? How do I make sounds deeper for a short moment (additionally, add a heartbeat) when an explosion went off near a player to simulate shellshock? Thanks for insight, and if I have additional questions I will post them here. Your name will be added to the credits with your support!
  6. Hi all, I'm releasing the last update for quite a while. This does not mean development has stopped or that I will be off of the forums from now on, but it does mean that a roadblock has been placed in development. There is not much else I can do or add from this point on. The next plans are to add the Xbox maps and allow different platoons to be selected for co-op modes, but this is where development is halted since there is no way known to be able to do this. But 2.3.6 brings a few fixes and changes, notably changes to the training mission, namely how dialogue boxes pop up and sounds to accompany them to match the Xbox version. I also touched up Command Interface and HUD as well as a few fixes. Development help would be greatly appreciated to get this mod to a finishing point. I also plan on soon releasing the higher quality sounds used in the Xbox version as a standalone mod for those who do not want to use the Xbox conversion mods. I hope you guys enjoy this update and if there's any feedback in terms of development, please message me and let me know! Let's collaborate and finish development on the mod together. It's been on a long journey of changes and while it's bitter-sweet to finish development, I would like to get it to a finished state. Important Note: For the videos included in the Island Thunder extras, VLC has been discovered to be able to play the .xmv files. There are some rare videos in there that you may not have seen before, open it with VLC and check them out! 7. Hi all, I'm releasing update 2.3.5, it's a rather small update for GR:XC, with the biggest change is adding a zoom for all grenade launchers. Island Thunder sees a bit of a bigger change, allowing you to now play as all the specialists in Island Thunder, as well as a few more voice changes for variation. Both mods have more items in the Extras folder as well. I'm in the process of figuring out if I can get all platoons to be enabled for a co-op game, but that's a trick all on its own now. The next best step I can take with this mod is adding the Xbox exclusive missions and explosion effects, but I can't seem to get the explosion effects ported over no matter what I try, it might be hard-coded into the game. But I'm quite busy with my life right now to be able to port the missions over. I will continue my efforts to collaborate with others to figure out how to get the missions ported over. 8. Hi all, I'm releasing a 2.3.4 update for both mods. It includes a reworked HUD, color changes, and a few fixes. And most importantly, a zoom on the M136! 9. Hi all, I'm releasing another small update. This one addresses a few sounds that wouldn't play correctly (the M24 and crouch + prone sounds) and added much higher quality weapon sounds used in the Xbox version for all weapons. 10. Hi all, I'm releasing another update for both versions of the Xbox conversion. They include a few fixes, a few changes in sound and the HUD and the addition of Dossier Challenges. Given that the mod is getting close to the end of development (there's not much more that I can do besides porting over the Xbox missions) I've included an extras folder. This includes a developer's note from me, the videos used in the Xbox version that I cannot get to work on PC due to the file size and the Dossier Challenges for each version. Note, that the challenges will not actually unlock anything like it does on the Xbox (except for the first 12) but it's just copy and paste from the Xbox, giving you something to try out and increasing replayability. 11. I wonder what we could do to crack this. To my knowledge, the Xbox versions used the same engine for the most part during development. We've gotten as far as opening the structure of the map up with 3D Max but everything is just blank. I've reached out to Ubisoft's corporate office and requested the release of the SDK used to develop Ghost Recon. I might hear back from them on Monday.
  12. I tried opening it with 7-zip, but I had no success. Any ideas anyone? I'd love to add the Xbox maps to the PC version, I think that's the last possible thing that I could add to the Xbox version, some maps have changes on the Xbox and being the "Xbox Conversion," I'd love to recreate the most authentic experience of the Xbox version possible for PC players who don't have access to it. Of course I can't add the Dossier ranking system the Xbox had, and the HUD will never be perfect, but like I said, I'd like maximum authenticity possible.
  13. Hi all, I'm releasing a small fix update for both GR:XC and IT:XC. There were some errors with some of the multiplayer kits that would cause the game to crash and some kits appearing even when the restrictions should have prohibited those kits. Huge shout out to Wombat50 for checking through for bugs I missed! 14. Hi all, I've been hard at work porting over some more changes from the Xbox Version and I'm proud to announce, with the great help of Wombat50 (you go man!) versiob 2.3! This is a pretty big update for the Ghost Recon: Xbox Conversion mod, a little smaller for the Island Thunder: Xbox Conversion mod. This update brings female multiplayer characters to the game! It also includes important fixes to specialist kits, as some of them had improper equipment from the displayed equipment. Additionally, more multiplayer kits have been added to further extend the sandbox. If you have any trouble on the multiplayer side of things, please refer to the Readme. 15. I should've downloaded Heroes Unleashed a long time ago, and now I'm trying to with the downloads section down. 😭
  16. Hello all! I'm releasing a Weapon Tuning update for today. I've slightly nerfed the viability of the G36K but increased how well it handles. The AWP and G3 also received a buff. There are other minor changes alongside these. Ghost Recon Xbox Conversion 2.2.1 Download: ***Removed, newer version available*** Island Thunder Xbox Conversion 2.2.1 Download: ***Removed, newer version available*** I'm looking to add the Xbox version's ending, but when I export the videos into AVI they're ridiculously massive. Anybody have any insight with this, please private message me! With this said, I've removed the Xbox videos for now to reduce file size of the mod so they can be downloaded easier for smaller updates. They wouldn't play since they were saved as .wmv, but the problem plauging my progress are .avi files exceeding a gigabyte. I've toyed with settings in Premiere but I can't shrink it too much for it to be viable to ship with the mod. Either way, enjoy this bitsized update! I hope it levels the new weapons a bit more and diversifies them from the others. Note: To conserve space in my Google Drive, I'm discontinuing the prior versions of 2.1.0 to 2.2.0.
  17. Thanks for the feedback! It was easy for the most part, adding the weapons in the game files and referencing them was the harder part to get it to cooperate so I could directly port it over. I'm thinking of further tuning the weapons. I based the weapons off of the most similar version when I ported them, making a few adjustments to stabilization and the tightness of the reticule. I just remember the G36 being super satisfying to use, as a blend between the stopping force of the M16 and the mobile, fast reacting M4, and I think I recreated that quite well. And staying in tune with that, the G3 replaced the FAL's spot and was even more accurate. The AWP, although a sniper, was a little less accurate as a tradeoff for the suppressor. I hope you, and many others experiment with the mod and play it with other mods alongside it and see how you enjoy playing with the added weapons and the increased valuablity of the other specialists with the additional kits! I think this past update is personally my favorite addition to the mod. As always, I hope you, and everyone else who plays this enjoys it as much as I did making it!
  18. Greetings, all! I'm releasing another massive update for my Xbox Conversion mods, inching it even closer to a final release. This update brings exciting new features, such as three new, Xbox exclusive weapons! The G36K, the G3A3, and the suppressed Arctic Warfare. Notably, it also has changed soldier stats to reflect the Xbox version, and includes additional specialist kits intended for completing challenges in the Xbox version. 19. Hi all, Thanks again, Wombat50 for your support years ago when this idea was first conceived! For those who don't know, he edited the bulk of the .RSB files that still remain to this day inside both mods. I'm releasing a 2.1.1 update for both mods, a few fixes and additions the the UI, notably a reworked Soldier Kit screen! Be on the look out for a 2.1.2 for any sorts of fixes! Ghost Recon Xbox Conversion 2.1.1 Download: ***Removed to conserve space, please see newest release, 2.3.1*** Island Thunder Xbox Conversion 2.1.1 Download: ***Removed to conserve space, please see newest release, 2.3.1*** Also Rocky or Apex, whoever is responsible for the Downloads section: I'd like to request that this update has its official spot in the downloads section to replace the old version. Thanks guys!
  20. Hi all, It has been quite a while since I've played the OGR on PC. I managed to get copies of OGR and Island Thunder on the Xbox which is where I've sunk a lot of time into. But even then: I've still taken a break from Ghost Recon (at least, the original anyway,) for quite some time. Now that I've returned to it, I really enjoyed the modifications that were done to it through the Xbox Conversion mods, though I still think the Xbox version is superior with all of the extra context it had at release, as well as its user interface and sound which was the main reason for starting the Xbox Conversion. I couldn't find my Island Thunder conversion anywhere on this forum anymore and I'm not sure why. In addition, even the update thread links are down because I never used my Dropbox so it was lost to the public anyway and the one that was in the downloads section was very unfinished and didn't include any updates. I wanted to do this too, to have a more permanent link so people further in time will be able to enjoy mine and Wombat50's work. So I started sifting through old backups of everything I had and managed to find 1.1.0 of both versions and given their relatively unfinished states, especially since their latest lost releases, I wanted to continue working on them again to bring them as close as possible to the Xbox version still. The most recent release of both of them were 2.0.0, but like I said I couldn't find them for the life of me. So, they're being dubbed as "Lost in Time." These rereleases are being submitted with a massive update. They are very close to a mostly finished state and probably should've released like this in the first place. But I took initiative to learn Photoshop, and then I got back into Ghost Recon and begun working on it about a week ago and this is the product of it. A while ago, I was also able to get a hold of the Island Thunder .ISO and was able to extract a lot more files which spurred the 2.0.0 update, but I further extended how much I put from the .ISO into this mod. I hope you all enjoy the latest release as much as I had fun making it. 21. Hi, Is it at all possible to add more command sounds from Mitchell to the game? In the Xbox version, he has all the different voices for the commands he gives. Would it be possible to add this with a mod in the PC version, e.g. telling a Ghost to move and he says one of his move dialogues or when he gives an order to attack, he tells the Ghost audibly "Attack!" Thanks for any help.
  22. Hi, Been a long time since I've been on the forum. I've felt like playing a little ghost recon except there's only one issue. I'm running Windows Server 2008 R2 and the game does not run when I try to run it. It will show up in the processes in task manager, but disappears a few seconds after. I've done about everything I have read, trying different options.xml files, disabling the fullscreen and intro videos, all that and no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I really want to get back to playing some Ghost Recon. Note: I can run it in Windows XP on dual boot, but after a little it will blue screen, so that isn't an option.
  23. I'm not sure if I can ever stay on consistently. I always get caught up on something and end up forgetting about GR. Been doing a few things with it, recently though. I'll try messing with the files, though.
  24. While trying to make a few mods for other games, I can't get certain sounds from the .bundle file, such as all Mitchell's voice quotes. His wave bank (opened by FMOD) only had a radio buzz. Anyone know how to find the other sounds?
  25. I apologize about not streaming, I got caught up in work. Tuesday I will be busy, Wendesday, I will not be able to. I always work Wendesdays. Thursday I will be busy again, so don't expect me to stream this week.
