I had an SB Live 5.1 and now I have an Audigy Gamer. Could I tell the difference? Only by a little. Just spend $50ish on the sound card... thats what I would do.

I noticed this the first day I installed it. Its quite annoying really, and I think thats the reason for the low 3D Mark points. Oh well, of to screw with my BIOS again...

Start | Run. Type msconfig and click OK. The tab that says Startup, click it. You should find what your looking for in there.
Side note: If you dont know what it does, or your just not sure about something, DONT TOUCH IT!

Ahhh, thats I love the PS2. $40 buys you free internet gaming with SOCOM Navy SEALs. In my mind, the best game ever.
Edit: LMAO!! I was reading part of that forum, where people said "Im going to get off my 'butt' and work to play this game."
Lets look at that. People are going to run out and get a job/another job to play a FPS? Im I one of the few that see something wrong with this?

No, hes talking about the little red marks on your command map. You cant turn those off. I think its a good thing that red mark comes up, so the rest of your team knows hes there incase he kills you.

Yeah, im running 42.81 drivers. I like them a lot so far. Makes RvS run a lot faster. Its just, it bothers me. It makes me feel like im missing out with my 3d card, and im not getting near to all of its performance. (To give an example, I get around 6,000 marks on 3D Mark 2001SE.) But your right, if it isnt broke, dont try and fix it.

Use the old one... Surely you have seen those monitors HP includes with their products? They say 17" but they look like a 15" and have terrible quality imo. Get a ViewSonic, NEC or Mitsu if you really want a decent monitor, and those would cost extra either way.
Wanted to also note, you can bring price down with smaller hdds and cheaper components. Mine are mainly good namebrands.
LoL! My HP Pavilion came with a 17" moniter... it was about 14.5" viewable, not to mention it weighed about as much as the computer. As for XP, well, I had my pro's and con's. I have Windows 2000 Professional, argueably the best O/S out there. Stable a heck. (I have seen and used O/S X, but thats a whole new topic
. ) When I had XP, it looked to cartooney for me, so I went back to the old Windows theme. Basically, any thing under Windows 2000, in my mind, is garbage.On a side note, DONT GO WITHOUT AN AGP SLOT!!!

Well, if anyone of you have a LeadTek 3d card, you know when you install the software for it, you get some pretty nifty little features with it. Take for example one of the WinFast tabs:
Now, looking into DXDiag, I see this:
If you'll notice, both say something about AGP being disabled. Now, I checked my BOIS, and it's set to AGP and not PCI... so what gives?

Ill take a Falcon-NW over them any day. Maybe its because you get the same buck for about $500-$1000 less. Might just be me.

My prefab computer came with a 250W PSU. It runs the case fan, the awesome CPU fan, and a Ti 4400, plus all the other odds and ends.
Still cant wait till all my upgrades get here.

Yeah, I know RooK, im an AMD guy myself. If you didnt notice, Ill be upgrading to an Athlon XP 2100+.

Im not sure about your average pick-up game, but most clans out there use some sort of comms. So far, the one Ive seen used the most is TeamSpeak v1.5.0.6.

I just thought it was different than the average name. Perhaps I got it from the game Crimson Skies.

Do you have Desert Siege and/or Island Thunder?
Install Ghost Recon.
Install 1.2 patch or DS.
Install 1.3 patch or IT.
Install 1.4 patch.
Go in that order, with what ever you've got. If you dont have DS or IT, itll be very hard to find a game to play. Patch downloads can be found here or at the offical GR website.

Will an Athlon XP processor work with Windows 2000 Professional?
Also, if I want to buy a CPU fan, how do I figure out how big it can be, demension wise?

WinMX - Tons of files, long waits, slows down your connection by a lot.
Kazaa - Also known as spy ware. Enough said.
iMesh - Fast with lots of files on it. My vote for best.
