  1. Well, I just got my copy of Splinter Cell... This has to be one of the best games, ever. The stealthiness alone makes this game great, then toss in a good story line, and some great graphics, puts this game, IMO, over the top. Well done UBI.
  2. I like the current one better.
  3. No, but Sierra will get my money for it.
  4. Forgot to mention, the system I listed was assuming your going to use your orginall hard drive, disk drives, and the ribbon cables and all that other jazz. Of course, since your computer is pre-fab, it didnt come with an O/S on a disk, did it? That always makes things harder. Anyways, if you need more help, just PM me. Edit: And no, by todays standards, I would not consider an MX 400 a good card. If you have to get a GeForce 2, go with a GTS.
  5. I just pieced a system together for you using NewEgg. Read and be amazed at what $600 will get you: Case: Dynapower case, 7 expansion slots, 300 WATT PSU included Motherboard: Asus A7N8X, nForce 2 chipset, 333Mhz FSB, AGP 8x slot, 5 PCI, etc. Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2400+, 2Ghz Memory: 2x 256MB of DDR PC 2700 RAM, totalling 512MB Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer Video Card: Asus GeForce 4 Ti 4200, 128MB DDR RAM, 8x AGP Grand total: $593.98. Again, this was pieced together, not knowing exactly what you want. Remember, www.newegg.com.
  6. I got mine in February. Ill be getting my license in August. Just in time to, I dont feel like walking home in California's summer heat. All hail me and my V8 gass guzler!
  7. My point exactly. It took nVidia a few months to pass ATi, where as ATi will pass nVidia in perhaps a matter of weeks.
  8. Is it me or did ATi just take the lead in the whole GPU race from nVidia? Ever since the release of the 9700, nVidia has been playing catch-up. nVidia will finally release the FX, but everyone is talking about the 9800 now. My next card may be an ATi.
  9. Would you end up typing in the password yourself? I think I see a never ending circle here. Delete that folder full of viruses. Norton and McAffee arent some b.s. software. They do their job quite nicely. Just make sure to update your virus deffinitions and you'll be good to go.
  10. If you have the money, buy the Audigy. Id suggest an Audigy Gamer.
  11. Ive never known Creative to put out good video cards, only sound cards. Tell us how it preforms.
  12. Ill post few links for you to look at Rocky, since im not sure what you want exactly. So: ATi Cards More ATi Cards Now, if you dont want to get OEM, Sapphire, or an LE card, the prices for an ATi card with 128 MB's is through the roof, comparing them with nVidia's 128's. So: nVidia's GF4 Ti 4200's w/ 128MB of RAM Edit: Rocky, two posts down. You'll now what im talking about.
  13. A couple of years? I've got an Athlon XP2000, 512MB of PC2100 and a Radeon 9700PRO; and I'm feeling my rig is starting to become too slow now. That always happens. When ever you upgrade, theres always something still out there that can make your computer a little faster. Ive yet to see a game require over 800 Mhz, and 256MB's of ram... not that Im saying there isnt one. I test my system with FS2002 Pro., and at the moment its running better than ever.
  14. As some of you know, my old system was an: Athlon TBird 1.33Ghz Asus A7M266-M Mobo w/ 266 FSB, KT266 chip Windows XP Home Edition 512 Megs of PC 2100 DDR SDRAM 40 Gigabyte 5200 RPM Hard Disk Drive 48x CD-ROM Leadtek WinFast A250 TD (nVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4400 GPU) Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer 250 Watt PSU One case fan Four USB ports After a couple of hook ups and some out of pocket expenses: Intel Pentium 4 1.6Ghz Asus P4S533 Mobo w/ 533/400 FSB, 4x AGP, 5 PCI slots Windows 2000 Professional SP3 640 Megs of PC2700 DDR SDRAM 60 Gigabyte 7200 Western Digital Hard Disk Drive 4
  15. At least... thats what I try and tell myself...

  17. FINALLY! I had a little extra money, so I bought a new Western Digital 7200 RPM 60 GIG HD, replacing the old Maxtor 40 GIG 5400 RPM HD, and a Memorex 52x24x52 CD-RW burner, replacing the old external, 16x4x16 HP CD-RW burner. Life is back to normal.
  18. Does anyone know the AGP driver version that comes on the Windows 2000 installation disc?
  19. Ive tried 4.43 and 4.45. Basically the newest one off of Via Arena, plus Ive tried the ones that came with my 3d card.
  20. Looks like your missing .wav files. Open up your Ike.txt file and paste what ever is in it here. (Its located in your main GR directory.)
  21. Did it. Went to VIA's website and downloaded the oldest one I could, working my way up. Installed the video and AGP drivers from my LeadTek disc, and that also didnt work. Looks like I have to reformat and reinstall Windows 2000... just what I was looking forward to... again. My motherboard has given me more headaches than school has. Hard to believe I know. Anytime Ive updated my AGP driver, it screws up the whole system. Any time I update my 3d card drivers, I need to reinstall the AGP drivers... am I seeing a never ending process of me kicking my computer? (Almost literally.) DON
  22. Four words: OMFG. I now know what was making my computer crash last year, which lasted about six months before it was fixed. The AGP driver. 3D Mark crashes, Ghost Recon crashes the computer, blah blah. At least now I know what the problem is: AGP mode makes my computer crash... weeeeeeeeeeee! Is there any way I can revert back to the old AGP driver? Im running Windows 2000 Professional.
