SOTO,
Thats correct,it wasn't about the glories,as an ex squaddie myself, having done operational tours, then having seen it all myself, swapping the "warrie "stories with with buddies,is a way of life, its also the release mechanism that lets guys get their emotions out into the open and dealt with.
Only those who have served will understand the closeness,of the "brothers in arms " way of life.
Swordfish, the story was excellent, from a "warrior to a warrior" thing I related to it,and the somewhat surreal feel of it all.
I would love to hear more, but I would ask only in PM's.
SOTO is right some kids today, and we have to realise, that Rocky pointed out to me the other night, that there are a lot of kids who frequent this site, sometimes forget that war is real, and Ghost recon is nothing like it at all!!

This is one nasty little virus, and it doesn't seem to getting picked up by scans etc,it looks like it comes throught he firewall......regardless.

I took my PC to my IT boys this morning, they've been running AVG for 5 hrs and zip!!,there was nothing in my registry keys,My guess is that because it's not connected to the net,the problem is not there for me,I've also done the patch thing!!!If this happens to me when I get it home,I'm going to take a sledgehammer to it and claim the insurance,by saying I feel down the stairs with it!!!!

...........join the club mate!!!!!!!I got this Bas**rd too it drove me nuts!!!!!

Mac Namee,
When I get home I have a picture to show you regarding the SA80!!Be prepared to change your answer!!!!!!

Hmm nobody else is having this problem!
This is strange, when you get to the regular kits, don't load any of them!
The last 2 kit files are the MP5KAC and the SD version,as you seen with Whisper, his loads fine!
I'm really not sure what this problem is,I know that the original MP5SD doesn't appear in the window, and if you try to select.....boom CTD,yet the qob file is there, the rsb's are there, everything is there,I had Marcinko check his out,and he had no probs!
Let me try and figure this out for you,it does appear that there is a confliction between Original MP5's and my ones.........easy soloution....use the SOPMOD instead!!!!

Avey,
As I said,I didn't believe it myself, but this guy who said MacNabb was his BIL said all the writing was done by a ghost writer, after a meeting with MacNabb, who told his story in his words, and the ghost did the rest, once I get home i'll try and find the thread, read it yourself,I thought the guy was talking BS,but now I have my doubts!!
try this

Apparently, and this was debated in another forum,Andy MacNabb and Chris Ryan never wrote these books at all,and that they're supposed to be the work of ghost writers!!I questioned this, with the guywho claimed to be the Ex brother-in- law of MacNabb, who made the statement, apparently all they did was to tell their story, and left the ghost writer to dramatise it,that would certianly account for his writing skills, but lets not kid ourselves on here,a Sgt in the SAS has some education guys,a lot of these guys used go to basic language courses in Beconsfield, where they learned Russian and Arabic in some cases, maybe he was not academicaly challenged in school, but the parent unit(1RGJ)would've gave him some form of education,it used to be in the 80's that you had to do a 6 weeks "education"package before you were promoted to Sgt!!
Ifyou want to read another perspective of the B20 mission read "Eye of the storm",by Peter Radcliffe, who was then RSM of 22,who famously held a Sgts mess meeting in the desert during 91,he was a hated man,but all RSMs are,his views are very interesting to say the least!!

Well,
Given the technology they had back then, compared to know,to be really honest,I am neither convinced, nor unconvinced, there are arguments for both cases, but I always like this question,Neil Armstrong was "filmed"coming down the steps and uttering those immortal word,"One small step for man,One giant leap for mankind"as he was classedas the 1st man to walk on the moon............so who took his pictures?was he not the 1st man on the moon then?
2ndly in zero gravity a lunar module weighing some what 30 tomnnes had to use rockets to slow its descent, which would have blown a debris field around the impact area.and the modules would've sunk into the surface given that footprints could be made,on most pics this is not evident!!
Who reallly cares it made great television, and converstaional topics for decades!!!
