WTH? The Opteron on the Sledgehammer core is a server chip. Why in the heck are they comparing it to a Pentium 4 Home user chip? Yes the Opteron is better than the Itanium 2 (a server chip by Intel) and the Xeon. But more is still known about AMD's cpu's for the "near" future than Intel's on the Prescott core so really that is hard for AMD to guess. You Snake, would want the AMD Athlon 64 model. And then when it crashes 9 times in 1 day then what do you do? Only one Microsoft Cert. Technician isnt that much there are many more. And I bet most given a choice would take 2000 or Windows. And yeah 98SE is older many machines are older now and not as many people ar ebuying new rigs cause they already have one from a couple of years ago during the computer craze. So that is easy to believe but give XP and 98SE to a user and see which one he takes home.

Well, I love XP to death. I have never had 2000 personally. But I have used all of Microsofts OS's and have 95,98,98SE, and XP and 3.1 lol. But I dont know if it is because I tweak and jack with my OS's so much they just love to crash -cept XP. There was a time I had probs with XP but I just had to run SpeedDisk a couple of times. In 98 SE I would run a game and also have RamIdle in the BG then I would get errors while playing the game about RamIdle screwing up or whatever Windows could come up with. In what nearly 4months XP has crash only 2 times full restart and a couple times to the log in

Yeah I had to get a job to get my puter. And I can tell you it aint easy. Maybe try and get parents to pay 25 and you 25. It is all on my parents Credit line of course but I pay all the $. Seriously think b4 yo udo it though cause it aint easy to only have a little left each month. I have to save some of my B-Day money and I will proly get a job at price chopper now or this summer so I can work longer at get more cash for my sys upgardes, movies, my private food stash and other things.

I go to Control Panel, then Click Add/Remove prgrms to remove some junk. Then while scrolling down I was looking at the "Big Ticket" items and those two are there. When I get properties on 22nd SAS I get 77.5MB and 44.4MB on disk. And for DAGRM 112MB and 66.7MB on disk...whats up Edit my entire Mods folder is approx 2.4GB and 1.57GB on disk.

Okay something is wack, I am in Control Panel removing some no longer used prgrms when I come accross DAGRM and GR mods that I often use and it is 1,814 MB! Then the 22nd SAS 1,609MB! What is up?

On Sunday check the papers for some 12 or 24 month no interest financing, you can get a great computer for 50 a month for 2 years. I did it, I mean I couldnt shell out $1400 at the one time. So I went this way and just upgrade it.

Too many that is an opinion. 98 is supposedly the best gaming OS. But how good is a gaming OS if it crashes every 10 minutes I say XP. XP is just so stable!

I haven't since I last posted here had any probs on my computer and gr.net . The other 2 computers though just keep on getting that crap 1/3 times I load a page up. Oh well I will just have to wait till my puter is done defragging. No prob I guess. I will investigate this further and see what the prob is if I can find out. Nope just push it in and it was fine. I added a couple HS's cause of my cooling fettish. To diable my onboard GFX, cause Windows will not let you disable it until another is in and working for obvious reasons just go to device manager right click the other vid card and disable it and enable yours. That is how I did it for mine.

Ouch, a bit harsh. Win SE is worse IMHO and my card does fine. We will see after I get my job and 1/2 a year later then the return and i will have my AMD Athlon 64 3200 and a card that will eat yours up
