  1. My transmission speed according tp PCpitstop is 244kb/s but I never download at that speed. Its hard to explain how it works but you never are going to download at what these test sites are bringing up. Most likely your ISP will just take you around in a loop but seriously post at a forum like here http://pcpitstop.ibforums.com/ and see what they say, go ahead and link to this thread too. No cable user gets speeds of 150 even ussually. Fileplanet gives me up to 90 then after about 10 minutes Im in the 30's for the rest of the night.
  2. The DSLreports scores are low but Ruin my friend nobody here with Cable can download at 500kbps. Go post at one of the test sites and see what they say. Call charter though anyways. On our T1 line at school we cant download at 500kbps nobody ever has with Cable its not possible.
  3. That is within Cable and DSL specs Ruin....
  4. I went ahead and spent some time figuring out what is going on. Me ussually getting Ruin's speeds or less I called comcast and told them that I dont get any more than 40kbps ussually when downloading. They for the second time told me that you can't always download to your full potential and told me to check to make sure P2P programs and such were closed for maximum bandwidth yadda yadda. Test: Download.com Then with some friends I conducted some download tests from download.com Each of the below programs were downloaded by me and my friends with cable and the speeds were as follows. K
  5. Ruin, if you wouldn't mind you could post a link to something you dload and tell me how fast the transfer rate is for you and I could compare it to my own. I just dloaded a movie at 36.7kbps. Phantom, you are being overly arrogant by assuming you know what is and isn't his problem. I'm not saying I know what it is nor that you are wrong but you are just shooting down all but your own ideas. Ruin you should have me on aim so we can talk and do the comparison over that sometime tomorrow if you want. I went to toast.net and dslreports and both put me as WAY over a T1 lines rated speed. You
  6. If they all work then you should be fine. What burning program are you using? -Sidenote, it would be so much easier if there were some .cue files to burn the bloody ISO's that....somebody should email SuSE. Most of that should, depending on your grahpics card and sound though they may not. Video should almost definitely unless you are using Radeon. Sound and NIC can but may not and the NIC is the most likely of the three to need to be "jacked" with.
  7. Parents fault for the shape of the car and daughters fault for racing it seems. Whoever has been driving it, its their fault and she was driving it so kinda the whole family's fault. We can keep it civil and understand eachother's opinions I think...
  8. If the parent's knew about the brakes and balding tires (at least they should the tires) then yeah they are pretty damn responsible. Sorry about your friends XO.
  9. I may have just missed it but I don't see anywhere in the article that it says the parents knew it had bad brakes (why the hell wouldn't they have fixed it since they prolly drive it too). And responsibility wise, IMHO, I don't think anybody should be held liable for somebody else's actions. No matter who you are you can't have complete control over somebody. If however, the parents did know it had bad breaks and left it then hell they should be charged and hopefully convicted. /extremist And since I don't like to pay for the meals of some of society's dumbest people, then heck hook 'em up
  10. Happy b-day FF! Save me some cake
  11. lol, I imagine I go off topic more than anyone
  12. This is about Overclocking dude, how much can you oc a G5 lol But yes they do perform the best in what I have seen. But also look how long it takes for them to be released compared to all the Intel and AMD cpu's. Anyone could turn out a better product if they had more time to work on it. Now that I think about it though, has that G5 been put up to the 64bit Itanium2 with 8MB Cache? I doubt it...My bet is that the I2 would take the G5 easy. That Intel btw
  13. The "C" series of Intel's new cpu's on the 800MHz bus have just been real good oc'ers 2.4's even do great. Its like the days of the 1700+ again
  14. Argumentative? Well it was an insult to pretend I was as dumb as you acted like I was. I'm not arguing I'm only pointing out a . Because it didn't go your way doesn't mean you have to threaten to lock it man. Its REALLY REALLY hard to burn/fry via temperatures a pc. Its a common thing most people think of but it is VERY rare unless you aren't decently educated on the subject. I appologize WhiteKnight if my post offended you, it won't happen again.
  15. Whoa thats old! If you are really so stupid that you can't install a HS correctly you deserve to have your cpu toasted. And that rarely happens. Why is this such an important feature? Most of the people installing HS's know the risks and what to do so I think you would have to be uber stupid to fry your cpu. And you can never really trust Tom's. His bills are paid by nVidia, Intel and all the bigger names. I think it was a year or so ago he did some benches on an Ati gfx card against a nVidia one and all these people went out and got the nVidia one (tom got an early sample) and then finally ot
  16. It's obvious you have been out of the overclocking world for awhile. The XP2500+(Barton core) was the closest competitor to the P4 for awhile. Many OC'ers were trying to choose which to get.(Many have phase chang cooling setups) But now this proves the P4 is the winner. Bartons have been hooked up to Prometia's before and they can't get NEAR a 2GHz OC. BTW-I know all about Phase Change cooling systems, no need to educate me on them. Also that's not true. While temperature is a leading bottleneck for OC's, its not near as important as getting the RAM and cpu ratio perfectly matched and th
  17. lol I figured I would post this for old times sake...http://www.vr-zone.com/guides/Intel/Northwood/ if you thought AMD was leading before....there should be no doubt they aren't any more. The top one is nearly a 2GHz OC! HOLY CRAP
  18. Nice boats man. You are one lucky man
  19. Speakers are ussually a no-no at lans so maybe that is where power is being saved then. Good Work Dannik!
  20. Some people dont do what they say/reccommend. I would tell somebody not to go 90MPH down the highway...but that doesn't mean >I< don't. Lots of people like to push their limits, I think he is just saying lower to be cautionairy. But I will ask one of the dudes from that site what is up with it.
  21. Thank you zjj! BTW, I talk to one of those guys on aim regularly and he knows his stuff VERY well.
  22. They aren't real cards in the way you are thinking. The ULTIMATE one is a 9600 with a heatpipe on it. And as for the 256MB version I don't know, but it still lacks in other areas to the 9500 Pro, more Texture memory doesn't always improve performance.
