Hi ghost gamer. I am in almost the exact same scenario. I plan on oc'ing I don't know about you though (it's a crime since almost all 2.4C's can hit 3.0 on stock air cooling). Asus and Abit are the best mfrs for the 800MHz bus currently (according to reviews). The Asus P4P800 and P4C800 are both great boards. They both offer a good amount of overclocking features and perform the best under stock speeds. The Abit IC7-7 (Canterwood chipset) and IS7-G (Springdale chipset) are by far the most popular boards for the 800Mhz bus p4's. The IS7-G is proclaimed the best but not very many people have it a

Phantom, do u notice any difference between the ATA100 and ATA133 maxtor drive? Lots of people say that 133 isn't really that much better than 100 at all and that is is not really worth the extra $.

end of this month I am gonna be upgrading/buying all my stuff so I'll get the KVM if I'm strapped for cash but if I can I guess I will get another monitor then if I have to take the computer somewhere it will have its own monitor and such.
-
The speeds don't matter u can put in an old ata66 hdd 5400rpm and 2mb cache with a ata133 7200rpm 8mb cache drive and they will still work. I can't imagine any problems at all.

lol, its been awhile. Like if u hadn't talked to one of ur best friends for 6 months .

I checked the paper and a no go. The only computer shops are Best Buy, Circuit City and CompUSA maybe one of them has a special deal or something.

......so many things to think about. What is the cheapest u could get a flatscreen crt monitor that can go up to 1280x1024 and is decent? I'm not at all good in the monitor section of hardware. Thanks for the help Gulp..may be cheaper than another monitor though I dunno waiting on more advice.

I looked at the Belkin ones at CompUSA's site since that would save me S&H charges then I went to newegg. It got horrible reviews cause of monitors flickering and mouse problems. The nice thing about it and the Linksys one is that the cables are integrated. The machine is for just that learning new OS's (linux primarily), development on who knows what and maybe to keep all my dloads on. Ur thoughts? I already have a keyboard and mouse I guess but $50 for a switch or $100+ for a monitor....I dunno whatdaya think?
-
Lots of people complain about mouse flickering and such when switching back and forth and also that there isn't a "switch" just a hotkey (scroll lock x2) and it doesn't always work. Seems most operate okay at 1280x1024 which was another concern I had.

I recently aquired another computer and I don't want to spend the $ for another keyboard, mouse and monitor. So I started looking at KVM switches as I know Dark Ranger here has one. I was wondering what are your guys experiences if any. I was looking at this one http://www.linksys.com/products/product.as...cid=45&prid=502 which is $38 on newegg.com I can't really tell which one to buy because all of them have mixed reviews.

Thanks Ruin, that is what I was fearing/thinking. He talked about it awhile ago but I didn't know if he would or wouldn't. I'll be here on December 1st at 12:01 am!

IIRC this was brought up not too long ago. A couple of those are only different because some 3rd party person stuck a different HSF on it or something. They aren't all actual card models supported by Radeon.

I was thinkin, maybe I should pring out this page and put it in a frame. Crimson, I haven't read this whole thread I dont think but every linux distro I have tried didn't require any boot disks ever.

I hope he has been with it for awhile already. It's a great OS to say the least. I love that everything is seperate which brings loads of stability. But with it having so many incompatibility issues it just requires time I don't have. He better get very well aquainted with Wine. @Crimson I agree with phantom, trade floppies and check ur connections. @All, anybody who sticks with Amiga OS for a month and doesn't touch Linux or MS or anything else gets $20

The police Maverick (heli) doesn't have guns or lights availble when we use it. And on the very South side of the first island there is a house with a helipad and when u complete the game and get all the hidden packages there is an Apache/Hunter there it's awesome!

I tried to email him and haven't gotten any responses but a monthish ago late at night when I was away from the computer he sent me 2 aim messages but he had signed of before I got back on. Does anybody know what happen to him or how to contact him. His aim is kopassus and his real name is Ruli if that helps jar some memories. Thanks in advance

What type of PSU do you have in there?

Your computer is all relatively new right Ruin? It'd be a shame if something had gone bad so quick. I remember that PIF files are also the extensions made for Drive Image 2002 after making an Image. Maybe you could try another AV tool like AVG from Grisoft. It is completly free and sometimes picks up things that mainstream AV tools such as Norton AV do not. Link to Download Free AVG

Bottles, Cans, Fresh Squeezed and Powder I'm just addicted to it. How I wish I could squeeze lemonade every morning before I went to work and all that would be awesome....now I'm drooling thanks a lot guys! *Wipes off keyboard*
-
Last year (9th grade) I started getting one every morning before class. I automatically became addicted. Minute Maid is my favorite but Country Time is okay too. If I had a digital camera I would take a shot of the 4 cases I have in my refrigerator. I take one with me to work everyday . But nothing I mean NOTHING beats real fresh squeezed lemondae, the only thing that I could think of that would be comproble to it is.....well nevermind

I wonder where the on switch is...

Reminds me of Artifacts from Oc'ing too high. Your card just may need to be replaced man. Doesn't sound like a Software issue to me but who knows...
