Why not this?
Cause the University network (apparently) isn't compatible with Apples.
Only gaming will be at home. Running anything beyond Office chews through the battery too fast. I'm not dropping another 100 bucks on another battery if I can help it. Hauling an AC adaptor and mouse to class is too big of a pain in the ass.
If you guys decide to carry the argument further, I'll delete the thread and start over.
Dude u should get dell. They have some good laptops and the best customer service. U dont really need anything even have as powerful as ur previous laptop if all u will be doing is working with Office. Save yourself some $ and get a couple games to play at home or a mini fridge. But I imagine u will have a hard time selling a notebook that nice. P.S. That arguement already died

Do a Windows update, and then it should appear as an avilable update for you.
Yeah I was, I dont know how many times I have read on forums of botched attempts to uninstall dx9 and its variants. But the way the tool I used worked was that it took ur OS cd (with DX 8.1) and replaced all the files in safe mode. It wasn't very complicated and was very smooth but the other 40 ways to do it all seem kinda questionable and don't work well if at all. I played some more VC again today seems fine. I will did 3D Mark '01 without a hitch but I haven't tried '03 yet. All SiSoft sandra tests appear to be fine also.The thing is, depending on Windows version, whether it will or not. Directx9 isnt supposed to uninstall at all. IN XP, you alomost have a shot if you havent upgraded directx.You can try what Stinger did, but he is one of the lucky ones. The problem is directx 'marries itself to the kernel, often times rendering it inoperable if you take a piece of it away.

Good idea, but it will never happen. Because if they leave that disc open in anyway, someone somewhere will crack that puppy. Let's face it, cheaters and xrackers abound, and that's why it wont happen.
That's entirely true but there is no game to my knowledge that hasn't had its' security measures circumvented. The makers of Unreal Tourny '03 and Quake were smart and realized this so u no longer have to use a cd to play the game and it's 100% legit. There's an ISO, Bin or rar file for every big release and a crack to go with it. I don't understand why the dev's don't give up yet since they aren't really having any luck.

There are ways to uninstall certain versions of DX. None are supported by MS however. I uninstalled 9.0 sucessfully with a nifty little program I still have it even.

Its hard to buy a computer and just use it for note taking or school work. Maybe the lecture was stupid or something u had already heard or u take the laptop to a family renunion and get bored...maybe u play a little bit of the sims or simcity (I don't realy like maxis but hey) u may wanna play some games.
Also along the lines of compatibility u can't use word, pp, excel etc. and such which I am sure most of us here are used to. And yes games....I imagine XO, u did do some gaming am I right? With a machine that powerful it would be crazy to waste it on note taking alone thus going back to my earlier point.
Edit on MS Office, apparently there is/are app/s that can open and edit MS word documents and the like in AppleWorks™ I don't have a price figure nor do I know if they actually cost money or not.

I'm going to have to say GTA: Vice City is my favorite non-FPS game. Although, to be honest, I end up just driving around alot, as doing some of the things you have to do in the game are just uncool.
U should get some of the mod cars and put them in they rock! Adds a whole nother dimension to the game.

True, but there were at least no civics in this one (I love 'em though). Who says some of 'em didn't have 6 cylinders? I think in this movie they were all V6's or up not sure though. The Evo is a great car same as the Skyline (too bad it ain't street legal in the states) and the Challenger and Charger from the movie were GREAT!Having a car with a 4 cylinder, and expecting it to go fast is beyond rice, with a few exceptions (mainly Rally cars: Evo, Escort, WRX- built to race). Like RS, 4 banger exhaust sounds suck. Any car can use nitrous, and it isn't a 'constant' power unless the whole rear of the car is filled with it, it only last a short duration, not a full length race, plus it adds weight.A naturally aspirated V-6 or V-8 is better any day, due to its high hp output without any extras. And you can increase that by a 1/3 or more with a supercharger or turbo. Besides that, a Civic or any of those other cars weren't meant for racing, they come with standard everything and you'd have to pay thousands just to get rid of chassi flex, good suspension etc. Waste of money.
IIRC, the Nissan Skyline has an inline 6 and can take most of the muscle cars with a turbo/super charger added to it.Don't get me started about riced out cars. IMO if it doesn't have a V8 or greater of at least 300CID, then it isn't meant to race.I absolutley love the dodge charger. And if I could get one for a decent price and it not have 100k miles racked up on it then I would prefer it over any "rice" car. The coolest thing is when the front lifts off the ground and the back wheels start spinning...damn I love torque

Well Empire Earth and Rise of Nations are both better and cover more time too I think they are better personally but back when they weren't out yet Age of Empires had to be one of my faves (I played it to death).

Crap...I searched my external HDD and couldn't find the one I used to use. It was called Vid something it was completly free. I will try and search for it again cause it rocked and I know I will need it sometime again. Premiere is pretty cool though too $$$

I think the pink car for zuki or whatever in the 2nd is so gay. But Brian's skyline rocks! Some parts aren't completly realistic, but it wouldn't be cool without some of them. The plots aren't great its the cars and the racing that is.

I like them. People wont shut about about the ricing stuff though (not saying u said anything bout it) but its not really ricer unless they are all show and no go. And they obvously have some serious go. They are riced up but its just another flavor of car looks some like it some dont....expecting RooK to drop by this u see

Ur notebook is really nice man. IMO the only gfx worth getting for gaming on a laptop are the 9000 Mobility being upgraded soon I think...) or the FX5600 GO model. You look at any of these?
Edit-When I get my new rig up and runnin I am gonna start folding again and maybe Rocky will actually put it on the news page again

For most broadband users we get IP's that stick with us for 4 months or so (at least on comcast I know for sure). But u dial-up users are different, u get a new IP everytime u connect so they can't really block u with out taking a taking a range or tracerting u and finding the ISP u have, then locating the base that u hop through to get on and blocking that but then u block a lot more people then need to be also. It's gay but I'm surprised more AOL members do it then other ISP's. I doubt any ISP cares about forum spamming.
