@Swartsz, did at one time have a download manager and then uninstall it? I was reading on another forum about this happening after I guy did that.
it is a totally clean system, installed a new HD on friday. could it have anything to do with my ActiveX settings in the Internet Options menu?

Cool, isnt it? I havent had one single issue with Opera. Not one. Im considering the registeres version also.
Odd, I've tried Opera since the 5's and there has always been some little quirk that I personally couldn't stand.Hmmmmm.....I havent had one single problem with Opera, where I couldnt even get Mozilla Firebird to run.

I have no problem using IE6. I can run it day in day out but I CHOOSE not to due to the fact it doesn't have tabbed browsing and hogs more resources then Mozilla firebird does. I think there is thing called Crazy Browser that adds tabbed browsing funtionality to it but Im not 100% sure.I use IE 6 and don't have half the problems these guys do with it, but then I don't spend my life on my PC, and if I do have a problem I just ask Phantom and voila it's fixed, hell he usually answers my questions before I even ask them.Opera is a good browser I'll say that. But when I no longer have to spend 2 minutes trying to highligt text, or don't have trouble lodaing and downloading from pages that are not using ActiveX controls and when I can have my darn middle click=open link in new tab function I will move to Opera. I love the little stats at the bottom that tell u how much of a page is dloaded and all that. I still have to use IE6 for stupid Windows updates and some pages that are hooked on stupid ActiveX but other than that I don't touch it.
@XS, try Mozilla Firebird .6. It is only 6.66MB and tell me what u think of it.
@Phantom, I don't know how it couldn't work. All u do is unzip the contents of the .zip file into a folder and click the executable....we'll make that out winter project

Does anybody around here watch rally racing? If so u know channel that has it on pretty often or where to find a tv guide that has listings for the Speed Channel...here we dont have it in out tv guide

That test is fine to make sure mos parts are operating fine. Test the 4 Pin molexes and the 3 pin connectors if u have each type of fan. It takes about 8 seconds if ya know what to do and at least u know it is letting power through. And its real hard to screw up a fan so dont worry bout damage to it.

If u wanna test ur PSU to see if it works hook up a fan to it. Then use some insulated wire and insert an end on each side of the clasp(closest to the clasp (top row)) (holes 12&14) that goes into the mobo and if the fan comes on it works essentially. I'm leaving for Texas tomorrow so if u dont understand that ask Snakebite1967 for the link/picture of what I am talking about.

In Opera for some reason highlighting is uber fudged and it has trouble dloading crap from so much stuff. I love its added features and the bottom status area but I had to go back to mozilla since the bloody thing wouldn't do basic crap. You can also try NeoPlanet it's another browser

2. Hmmm....kinda depends where u play but I am for nothing over 150 IIRC.
3. I assume u mean to make ur dsl faster than it is now...nothing short of a few registry tricks that u still won't really notice and they don't speed up your connection since it is imposible. You get a certain amount of b/w and as long as ur OS is set to take it all then that is all u can get unless u break into your ISP's backbone and play around a bit

That would be nice, there are some OS's like that. But If u were to mod the game then u would have to make the cd look to like a certain folder C:\Crazy Guns\Mods everytime the game started so u could play mods...and u couldn't edit the games files either so that would be some trick. But heck it would save me lots of HDD spaceOn a similar note...not directly related to patches...but I read an article that MS is (realizing the huge profits associated with the gaming industry) is working on a way where you insert your CD and the game auto runs (a la console style) I don't know how they'll pull that off...but its an interesting concept.

Corsair XMS is just as fast as any other piece of memory that has the same PC number as it. The only difference is when u r overclocking and still OCZ would win there.
I stopped paying attention to this game for the same reaon Nightcrawler did. I hate it when companies do stuff like that

I almost got one but it' like $1,000 for a 1GHz Athlon, 20GB HDD, CD-RW/DVD, 15.1TFT and just other basic stuffs. So costly for so little.The exhorbitant prices for outdated notebooks is one of the reasons I'd like to sell the notebook I've got, and get the one I want. -
I imagine Phantom can tell u all about it whenever he gets on. But is that the only page u need explained? Try googling for it for now. I wish it were a little more specific about "LAN services" (maybe connecting to router/base station) but oh well.

4GHz is still a year or so away (not including OCing). But Laptops are a hard to sell thing. They have but one selling point and that is mobility. With so many other laptops available and them not being promarily used for gaming the market is for laptops that can do Office and other such apps. XO, ur machine is so much overkill for that it ain't funny. And people are only gonna pay what they have to being cheap and all and since they dont need a laptop that pricey/powerful to do those apps then they aren't gonna give u the money it's worth even though it is used. I don't mean to say u wont but it will be hard to sell it for the price it deserves.
