Yeah but the Mongols sacked Kabul 800 years ago. Safe to say very few families in Ghanny can even trace their lineage back that far. On the other hand the US is still there. But as far as I know the locals don't hate them or want them to leave right away.

Actually the Russians already did that in the mid-90's, which bred this kind of craziness. They'll do it again if they get mad enough.

Sorry for late reply. I watched this whole thing unfold and have paid careful attention to after-action reports. It's been a massive story on BBC occupying most of their headline time, especially after it blew up. My impression is that the terrorists (some middle-easterners included) had no intention of letting people out alive. They would not accept food, water and medicine for the hostages which has been normal in seiges until now. There's an indication there of a certain fatalism as if they'd already written the hostages off. Then when the explosion came (what's the word on that - Rus

Yeah the lag has got me killed and made easy target of other playesr too many times. I stopped playing a couple of months ago: they had a problem with the servers/passwords after downloading the latest expansion ('falcon' something?) and I could no longer log in - no such password. My only option would have been to start a new profile and go thru training again and build up my honor to SF level again. ###### that, I just uninstalled it. Did they ever fix that problem?

I saw it on Gamespot last nite. Very attractive, very much in the spirit of GR. I must say the budgster is back on board and happy to be there.

Never been happier to be wrong mate. But lucky guesses do not a genius make. Let's hope that not only do ZA's predictions come true, but that we also get even more goodies thrown in the bag. PS: Still miffed there are only 4 team members

So presumably this means you could have the following setup (If you really needed it): Primary : rifle Secondary: grenade Launcher Item : frags Item: charges ????

OFP 2
budgie replied to osokdfgr's topic in Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis - General Discussion
Actually it said Autumn 2006!!!! That's a looong wait dudes. Two years and and then some! I remember when I first heard about OFP: 1998. they even had screens and stuff and that took like 3 years or more to hit the market... -
Great thanks. But what about the green lights? I don't wanna play warcraft...

I played it and saw much that I liked. the Feel, music, production values are the same. The gameplay is just as good as the rest of the series. The brand new 3D actors and foliage are fantastic. The whole this looks porduct improved. But me has some design decision complaints: 1) No blood? I liked this feature in Shogun and was disappointed to see it taken from Medieval. A blood-soaked battlefield should be a stable of massive sword and spear battles. 2) What's with the selected unit hilighted on the battlefield? And with green marker lights underfoot!!!! That annoying RTS conven

can't wait. Over at Fileplanet?

Spybot is a good hunter-killer for spyware. However it will kill ad cookies for some programs like Kazaa that rely on advertisinmg, so you might have to reinstall those programs afterwards

I'm hooked now. Going again tomorrow. Prolly buy a gun in the nextt couple of weeks. It's an intense, adrenaline packed sport and damn good exercise. McNamee, I checked out guys with zoom scopes and red dots and I'd have to go with the latter. At the short ranges in a typical airsoft game, a reflex scope is more useful and even with no practice you can use red dot with both eyes open. But whether it's better than the good old Iron sights on the M4, I dunno. Anyway I'm gonna buy an M4 and an MP5 for the girlie and both are compatible with reflex scopes.

The shadows were growing long and we were running out of time. The referee called a last minute free-for-all. He quickly reorganized the teams and we kept our side of the clearing. There was to be no action on the slope he said. We were to stay on the flat and take out as many enemies as quickly as possible. The whistle blew and I found myself at the edge of the clearing under a withering hail of pellets. People were already leaving the field. I managed to tag one guy trying to run and shoot at the same time through the small patch of elephant grass to my left. Another went down under

Looks promising however it's all in the implementation. Perhaps more of an R6 Lite as the planning is done away with. Probably looking to compete with SWAT4...

My catharsis nears an end. The final real game provided my third sublime moment - one that combined the visceral intensity of that front line firefight in the morning and the creeping fear of stalking through enemy territory just before lunch. It was a fitting completion of the experience and one I could pat myself on the back for heartily. We switched sides of the field again yet kept the same basic teams. The referee suspended a waterbottle from the tree in the middle of the clearing and told us the first team to siexe it and return to their lines would win. The only real pro with u

So we come to the final few games. These all had mixed results but at least I didn't get killed. After chilling back under a tree that housed a spider in a web with the legspan of a dinner plate, we were told that no more arenas wpuld be open and we'd finish up the day in this clearing. The next mission was to be search and destroy: One of the more yooung pros in the enemy team would wear a blue beret. Their job was to protect him and ours to tag him. naturally they got the defensible slope as they wouldn't be expected to be moving much. I warned Ryan and David that I would run up to t

We headed back to the shack for lunch. Most of the guys had to take off their shirts - mine was soaked through and I hung it in the sun to dry. The gals had to strip down to tee shirts. They served us some hearty but otherwise uninspiring rice and stir-fry. We drank lots of water and in a rare fit of decreased glucose, I had two cans of regular coke. Outside we practiced shooting at a rusty barrel 20 meters away. The smell of the hogs didn't bother us anymore. We noobs got to play around a bit with the cool guns the pros had broghut along - the difference was noticeable. Our old AKs

This is what makes my knees weak.... Norika Fujiwara

Thanks WK, but Pyro got there first. Anyway here are the first three. Again, allowing for lighting I'll let you guys decide how well the scheme blends with environments. IMO what the army said was right - not perfect in either green or brown surroundings, but not bad: a good compromise at least.

Proper airsoft guns have higher power and shoot solid white plastic BBs as opposed to the 'safe' hollow yellow ones. Usually same caliber. trust me the ones we were using hurt. I still have a bruise on my cheek, but we'll get to that... The fourth game offered a sublime moment but somewhat different to the third. Whereas I'd been in the thick of the action, trading fire then, on the next field, I'd be taking a different tack. After a quick break in the sun, we hiked a short trail to a green clearing in the woods. There was tall elephant grass and a few trees studded the football-fiel

I made some collages with photoshop that place a guy in the ACU against woodland and desert backgrounds. Even given the difference in lighting, it seems to blend in fairly well with either. Would anyone host them for me? I can email you.

I've always theorized that working without leaky, inaccurate, jam-prone paintball guns would be a better experience and Yesterday I found out. We pulled up at an abandoned piece of bush near a smelly pig farm in the New Territories, about 20km from the Chinese border at 10:30am. There were a bunch of newbies from all walks of life - plucky high school boys and the girlfriends they'd cajoled into coming, a few wannabe Triad members with tatooed 100lb framesa and in true cheat fashion - souped up guns, the usual plethora of reenactment geeks wearing full kit from various world armies, a coup

So from the inside, are you guys likely to stick with the M4? Also what's the update on the M8. Some people have said it's gonna be canned - have you guys heard anything?
