VIETNAM WAR from the movie "The Quiet American"
budgie replied to moto's topic in Real World Military
I believe there is a book of the same name. Anyone attempting to answer the questions should read that first. If your literature or history teacher has asked you to do that by the way, as I suspect s/he has, someone may be able to give you some pointers, but please make an effort to do some reading yourself and come to your own conclusions. Even if it doesn't get you an A, you'll still pass WITH self respect. -
My buddies died face down in the mud so you could enjoy that game! Welcome, new initiate. You have entered an exclusive circle. Now you are here you will never turn back. We won't let you. You can check out any time you want but you can never leave....muahahahahaha!

Tango is a dance that Sean Connery can do and Arnold Schwatsiname can't.

I'll see if I can get a cheap mike and do one vesrion in my accent, one in American. How much time do we have?

Hey isn't that Bush's speech to Congress from last month? I can give it a go. I have a good voice and can put on an American, South African, Indian or or Scottish accent for it. I could even do it as a Chinese street vendor.
-
Well, it's definitely cheaper, but it's only the fiber optic cable - not a whole LW system. Anyway, probably still out of most countries' price range when it comes to fielding it in large numbers. The thing that has always set the western military against Russia or China is money.

Kid, learn the difference between news and right wing propaganda. Before you accuse me, I don't subscribe to left wing propaganda either. That is all I have to say.

The Chinese had to say it was America's fault. Point is they're over it now. As for N. Korea. perhaps recon flights should have a fighter escort in future. Kim has 30 Mig 29s, the only planes that can compete with 4th generation western fighters. That's less than a third of a single carrier complement. Think he'd try these tricks again and risk losing hardware if he had a couple of F18s to contend with? The Kittyhawk needs to be back in Japan where it belongs. There's enough ordinance in the gulf to take care of Saddam if that's what it comes to.

Eeer....the O'Reilly Factor? Somebody please fill me in as to the superior qualities and excellent investigative prowess of this obviously world class news source. Those living in trailers need not respond.

I dig Star Wars too, but for me the old ones are way better. I remember the 100+ cards with the funny border from when I was five or six. Good to see you are keeping the spirit alive with your kids. And good to see you back too.

Well it was still funny.

Guys, the cliche is getting old. the French helped America win its independence, gifted it with the statue of liberty, fought and lost against the Germans at the start of WWII and came back and helped defeat Hitler from D-Day onwards, and they helped out the last gulf war because they agreed upon the threat. I don't think their record is that bad. And President Chirac - who was elected by a wide margin in an undisputed democratic election I might add - spent some of his youth in America and says he is not anti-American. France bashing is childish, just because they won't come out and p

Pounds. Actually a little more as it was 100 kilograms, for 3 or 4 sets, 8-10 reps. But that's when I was twenty. I'll be thirty this year and like my shape better now. I also ski pretty well ( full skis and snowblades )and was getting good at snowboarding before I left Japan. One reason I want to go back. Can't get 5 months of powder and tree runs and "snow bunnies" in NZ.

On clothing selection they should have default - the standard look for the environment, plus a mix n'match setup. I sometimes see some specops guys with various desert patterns, and it would be cool to be able to change headgear, shirts and pants if we wanted to. We could even choose level of protection, whereby, skipping the flak vest and helmet or having a lighter kit (say MP5 and frags) would equate to greater speed but less protection.

look it's just a cheap way to make the enemy AI seem wiser. It's basically cheating. You can hind a hundred meters away in the bushes and snipe someone with a silenced weapon and the bad guys never once fail to home in on your exact position. General direction I might accept but not exact position. If - as I have sometimes heard - the enemy do seem confused and don't know where the trouble's coming from (heck sometimes I don't even with the indicator), then it is purely by accident, not an intentional reaction that the developers intended to preserve realism. I can't believe that these e

Drool drool, getting excited, drool drool, hope its true drool drool....oh...uuuh...gimme a cigarette. Now that's out of the way. Most of it will be true if Ubi ever listens to their fans. It al sounds good to me. I also hope we can jump over low obstacles like logs etc... And see the gun recoil like in America's army and aim like in Vietcong (real nice middle ground between AA's screen blocking sights and simple counterstrike training-wheeel crosshairs). As for the leaked info, it is quite possible that, presuming it really is froma ubi source, that the leak was deliberate on the par

sounds kinda contradictory to me C'mon, he can disagree with the US policy on certain issues without actually hating the US. Too many people think that not foloowing Bush into war (regardless of whos right and wrong) is anti-americanism. Some people just don't want to fight yet.

Weights. Lifted since I was seventeen. Used to press 220, but those days are gone. Still like to run and read history. Oh and then there's the asian chicks...

I don't think the actual gameplay can be compared between RS and GR - they offer two different types of combat. Personally I found the outdoor distance and 'safeties off 'approach of Gr refreshing after 2 years of RS. They can be cmpared on graphics and AI, bugs and polish, but not actual gameplay IMO, because gameplay is a matter of preference.

damn. so guys don't really do that?
