  1. I did some missions on Isla Duala (Desert Siege theme), Lingor (Island Thunder theme) and Panthera (Origmiss theme) for our group based on GR1 missions. It was fun and I think this would be a cool project.
  2. Ah my bad, I see what you mean now. Unfortunately I only do mission scripting and basic text editor stuff so I can't help you out
  3. Nice gear man. I thought that was GR fanart at first
  4. Pretty sure they aren't invisible actors holding weapons. More likely they're vehicles set up as in Phlookian's Object mod.
  5. I don't have that old mod anymore, sorry man. Maybe somebody would be willing to make a new one? Good luck
  6. I have my opinion and you have yours, and I don't mind when people disagree with me. But you are crossing the line when you start tearing apart everything I say in every thread I've posted in. Learn to respect other people's views please.
  7. Maybe they should sort out all those issues instead of just giving people a crappy product for an extremely low price. :\
  8. Not really sure anymore, but I know they were using Frostbite awhile back. You'd just have to hop on there and see sometime.
  9. I did that in Texas Militia for a few weapons. It makes them only shoot fully automatic, just like when they have a machine gun (think about when you give one of the Ghosts a fully-auto-only 249)
  10. GameRanger at 6PM CST almost every night. My old teammates from the Tactical Operations Squad, a disbanded Ghost Recon squad, are usually online at that time. They play mostly co-op but you will have to download a few mods. They're nice guys and I think they still use Dolby Axon for voice communication if you want to do that.
  11. The AI are coded to fire semi automatic when they have a clear line of fire to you, and they usually only use fully automatic when you "surprise" them or when they are laying down suppressive fire towards you to let the rest of their team get to cover.
  12. Sprinting for dozens of meters with heavy armor without tiring & jumping across parking lots while being rushed by hundreds of zombie-like armed militiamen makes me think Call of Duty But no, it doesn't feel like CoD in any other ways. There was one guy who kept going as the Leader role and he did a very nice job of utilizing the in-game commands to coordinate all the players who would listen. Eventually I figured out how to enable Insurgency's voice chat and the two of us did pretty well while everyone else was doing dumb stuff they learned in BF and CoD and getting killed. We had a few laughs about it.
  13. Many months back someone made a post about Insurgency and I posted a sarcastic comment about it being another Modern Warfare, but I just got a copy a few days ago and it is a really cool game. It's like a tactical Call of Duty with co-op. Very fast-paced but it encourages teamwork in lots of ways.
  14. Setendgamemovie only works in campaign mode. Instead, simply place the video clip in the correct format in your mod's Video folder and name it 'outro'.
  15. Believe it or not, like one or two days after you posted this Diogo, the guy who was muzzling me in the head, and Henrik wanted to have our automatic rifleman carry a machinegun instead of the standard M27 IAR. Since the marksman and automatic rifleman (who was now more of a machinegunner) couldn't operate nearly as effectively in close quarters we had them stay on the hill for an assault on the town of Anar. The machinegunner and marksman simply tore apart all resistance that was in their line of fire. We really liked how things went when we had a permanent overwatch element and we're going to start employing that kind of technique more often.
  16. Thanks. We're doing ACE Insurgency on Takistan right now and our next campaign starting around next month will be an actual MSO on Lingor. Yeah, that's Diogo. He has the Zoning-Out-During-Combat Syndrome Not sure which position you're talking about, but we had a couple guys up on that ridge for about the entire second half of the mission. You're referring to the Objective Iroquois video right? How's your squad going?
  17. Just play ARMA2 and you have lots of great vehicles, unit, and weapons, no super AI, and better FPS
  18. Hmm, when ApexMods made his Heroes Unleashed mod using dozens of maps from other games including SOAF, nobody paid attention. But now that someone doing a smaller scale project uses them, people start making comments.
  19. Merry Christmas dude. It's taken me what, three Christmases around here until I started acting likable?
  20. If you need another tester I'd be happy to help out.
  21. Played through a good part of 01 today. I really liked the mission and I'm looking forward to finishing it the next time I play. -In the briefing, there are several points where you forgot to put in spaces. For example, Overview:Alright gentlemen... -There is no marker on the world map showing the mission location. -The music made me want to curl up and die when I was selecting my kits. -The sniper and support expert didn't have any new kits. If you aren't planning on adding any, that's okay. If all of your missions are going to be these close quarter environments, maybe you could replace the sniper kits with marksman loadouts (high-caliber rifles with lower powered scopes). -The M203 needs a quicker stabilization time and more rounds. I should be able to pull off quick shots just a couple seconds after switching from my rifle to the grenade launcher. Twelve rounds would probably be better. -I don't see the point in putting "loud" pistols with suppressed rifles. I would remove those kits and just have SD rifle + SD pistol and non-SD rifle + non-SD pistol. -The enemies seem very weak as far as how many rounds I can put into them before getting a kill. I don't recall shooting any of them more than once with my M4, which is not as much fun and not really realistic when I'm hitting them in the feet or hands. -The enemies are also very accurate which is even more noticeable because of the close quarters style combat. I would make most of their weapons fully automatic, increase their recoil and stabilization time, and decrease their accuracy. That would allow for more close calls when you step around a corner and get sprayed at by a tango. -I loved picking up the intel. Only one thing I noticed was that I didn't pick up all of the documents from the office floor. -How do you have the alarm set up? I only had one instance when I thought it went off when it shouldn't -- I had breached the office door and shot both men inside but they still managed to set off the siren. The rest of the time I found it just right -- if I was smart, I could make my way through the hallways and take out the guards stealthily. -There are no markers on the in-game map showing me where to place demo charges. This is going to frustrate a lot of forgetful players. Very nice mission. It's simple, straightforward, and allows for a tactical approach even with AI teammates.
  22. What's new? We use the AAVP amphibious vehicle all the tim...wait... I know I know teasing people is mean but I couldn't resist lol EDIT To be honest that is kind of cool. In all of my scripting I never tried to do that with armored vehicles.
