My advice:
1 - Get Standard Upgrade by Earl!!!
2 - Make a 3 man CQB team armed with: 1 - M4 with grenades, 2 - M4 w\masterkey, and 3 m4\m16 with m203.
3 - Use grenade launcher to breach doors
4 - Move in with grenades and put one into a room
5 - Switch to masterkey armed soldier
6 - Enter and clear
Repeat steps 4-6 and you'll do good
That's the realistic and fun way to do it imo. If you want a 2 man team, sacrifice the m4\m16 with m203 and stick with CQB weapons. Also works well, M249 Para. hehe
There's basically three skills you need for good CQB encounters. 1 is skill with weapons. Make sure you pick the right weapon. M4s and M16 are a good bet. Shotguns are another. Grenade launchers are a no no  once you're inside. Feel free to carry one though. Just don't use it. Keep your weapon on single shot or burst fire for most encounters. Full auto just wastes ammo.
Second is patience. Close quarter engagements carry along heavy firefights.
If you get pinned down, shoot back carefully. Use grenades and your other teams to your advantage. Third is judgement. Depending on the situation, your tactics should vary. If you're seriously into this CQB engagement stuff (like me) Set it up R6 style. I've actually scripted missions that are just like an R6 scenario. They're quite fun in GR. Lay down sensors, and watch your enemies. Check corners and move in quietly. It's quite fun. Nuthin like runnin and gunnin though.
Just make sure you have fun while you're playing.
PS, if you're still having trouble, I could script a training mission for you so you can learn the technique or something to that effect.

First name:
BRANDON m EnglishPronounced: BRAN-dun
From a surname which was derived from a place name meaning "hill covered with broom" in Old English.
So, uh, yeah

First middle:
ROGER m English, FrenchPronounced: RAW-jur (English), ro-ZHER (French)
Means "famous spear" from the Germanic elements hrod "fame" and ger "spear". The Normans introduced this name to Britain, where it replaced the Old English cognate Hroðgar. The name belonged to a Norman lord who conquered Sicily from the Arabs in the 11th century. His son, Roger II, ruled Sicily as a king.
I like that one

Second middle:
IAN m Scottish, EnglishPronounced: EE-an
Modern Scottish form of JOHN
Special one just for Rocky
:ROCKY m EnglishPronounced: RAWK-ee
Pet form of ROCCO. This is the name of a boxer played by Sylvester Stallone in the movie 'Rocky' (and its four sequels).
Pssst . . . All you modders that have to think up names, this place would be great for specialists. Find 2 ya like and stick em together

I've had this problem many times after I've retextured a map. Are you trying to open a mission that's on a modded or new map?
-
OK, storyline won't fit if I use natives. I wanna try and keep download size under 100 megs 2. Chrs, weps, maps, music and missions definetely will push it over 100. It's currently sitting at ten with one mission and one map! And a couple of models.
Beginning of the story is: Brazil accidently lets in terrorist group. Asks US for assistance after they start getting hit. Won't fit if I use Brazilians . ..

-
Whipped up another weapon. M16 with a leupold 12x scope. I was quite surprised at how real this render looked. If it had a trigger and a trigger guard, it would look real imo. Just over 1100 polys.

-
Well, just cranked out another weapon. It's an MP5 with an ris system. I'll prob attach something to the RIS l8tr, but for now, here's some eye candy.

Before I had max, I had lightwave. It can export to .3ds. You could pheasibly make models and then put them into gr, but the problem is, they need to be tagged with helpers. I've learned how difficult it is to get them right, and most people who can are prob working on their own stuff. Good luck getting max

-
Cobra6 sent me that suppresor texture, so that's pretty obvious why it's so good.
I have made the eotech texture and the comp II's from ref pics I have. Just need a good lense shot for the comp II and I'll be good.
-
Well, here's some custom weapons that will be included in this. This is my first attempt at rendering with shadows, so don't be 2 mean bout that

Basically the same thing with different attachments. I'll figure out some way to make them cooler. Perhaps a 203 or something. I dunno.

I hate JPEGs! They make everything so blurry!

Brasil!
There was Sgt. Crocodile desperately looking for a scripter http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/index.php...=15&t=2264&st=0
Maybe you could call him and join your efforts...

This mod is US Special ops, else I would. Storyline just doesn't fit if I'm gonna use Brazilians.
-
Yeah Argyll. Let's not antagonize them. They'll just have to wait for the whole mod.

-
New Guy, I'm already working on one for the DYNACOMP staff. I believe our gift yesterday deserves it

-
Use a lighter background. That way, we can see more detail. But that's pretty good if that's one of your earliest attempts at modeling. Now for texturing

-
Here's my base overlay. This is an earlier version. I've done some work on it since then.

-
Learned how to alpha in Photoshop. Thanks Chems!

-
Beautiful! I can't wait to lay down the law with those! And to get my ###### whooped by a mortar! I'll love this!
-
Hey, that looks pretty cool.

Thanks sleeper. Now for some talking.
@everyone Thanks!

@stalker Will do. Just darkened the road tex from the map and saved it.
@matt Already done. That's the detail texture from C_03 High Sierra
@en4rcment. I'm doing all of them! They'll be included in my mod Snared Gambit. Check my 1st post for the link. Bout using them for your own mods. Feel free. All I want is some credit, and then I'll be satisfied. Glad you like them that much.
Once again, thanks to all. Look here for new retextures. Should have another done over the weekend.
Just need to learn some alpha channeling. -
If I didn't need to go catch some sleep, I'd link a pic from DTD's site. It's possible. They have a model that looks just like flea.
-
I'm glad everyone likes it. Thanks!

BTW, the map texture detail is on low on my machine!
-
Not for a while. I'm head mission scripter for DYNACOMP, so that's pretty self explanatory. I'll work on it though.
-
Before you ask, refer to this mission mods thread. It will answer all your questions. I'm setting this thread up to get it more public and to show you guys my progress. Here's the first retextured DS map.
Argyll's SOF flying into battle on a hawk.

Just some various eye candy. I left the sand texture in areas that should have shadows. I might change this though. Along with the desert bushes, as soon as I learn to Alpha-channel with Photoshop.

Here's my final 2 pics. The fog fx will be altered slightly when I use this for a mission, but this will be basically the final look. I love the purplish blue fog on the smoke stacks. If you look closely, you should be able to see my three assault team members stacked up and ready to go
The last is just a close up of them showing the sky and the general enviroment.

So, there's the 1st major project mostly done. I'll change the bushes and put leaves on the trees before I'm done, so don't worry. What do you guys think of the whole idea?
-
Also the armor has (depending on threat level really) a groin protector you can attach to it and basically it's a half elongated ellipse that stops where it needs to

Might be a nice attachment for our support specialists

-
Yeah. I don't think New Guy mentioned anything about it being Interceptor. Oh well.

Well AUS_Viper, I've never been this excited for a mod that's not about US equipment\actions. I can't wait for this one! Hurry!
Only 2 more missions and some testing?! We're getting close . . . This one will definetely occupy an honored 100+ megs on my hard drive.
