To be perfectly honest, the only reason I confronted this issue in a public forum, Thales, is because of the way you acted last time I sent you a PM. It was not pleasant. @Mig, I don't really think this is what we agreed upon. Oh well I guess.

Some clarity here: Apparently, some of you have construed my posts as some sort of revenge for the comments that were made to Snow. Can we get real here? Snow and myself have about three things in common: we both smoke, we both like beer, and we both 3d model. We speak on MSN regularly about 3d modeling. We are not best buddies or anything. My posts have all been about ethical and legal issues, not about whether Thales had angered Snow. That's honestly just childish. Gimme a chance here, please?

Its not your bug, a guy called Timo did it (the 3ds file is from 1999) and gave me permission to use the 3d model of it, including textures. You should check things first before accusing someone. If it was your bug, i would certainly have asked for your permission before posting it here. Ive reported the case to the staff, rule 3.2 . Your track record doesn't really permit you to act indignant. It bares a striking resemblance to the model in SST. There's a simple way to prove it isn't. Post a wireframe screencap and the texture. F4 while in the perspective viewport will do the trick. I'm sure you'll say it's none of our business and cite some other rule.

Excellent for your first model. Looks decently close to the real thing. Next model, work on being more efficient with your polygons, looks like a lot of excess. Good work though.

Anyone who has been involved in 3d modeling outside of a modding community, and even within one for longer then a few days knows one thing: when you post a render or picture without mentioning that it is not yours, you are claiming that you are the author. Unless it's brutally obvious that it's not yours (such as posting screenshots from Gamespot or something) without putting a credit tag, you're saying to everyone that looks that you made it. You'll notice that the only people who have put up a fuss about this are experienced modelers and digital artists. Jay, Prozac, Snowfella, myself, and several others. That is the big problem here. So, did he come out and say in his own words: "I made these!" ? No. Did he imply it? Absolutely. Credit in an obscure readme file that no one will read is not giving credit where it is due, especially when using other people's models to promote the content of your mod. It's not right.

That is a sick rifle. I wanna model that thing. That would be awesome. Any chance of some really nice high res photos anywhere?

Before to take action in one direction or the other is there any prove that Thales100 is stealing? Compare these two: http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/217310 They look pretty much the same to me. And the author does not give any sort of permission in the download. I checked it myself. It has texture files, and the models. No text file and no mention of permission to use for anything. I'm pretty unfamiliar with Turbosquid's use policy, so it might be okay to use free models from there however you'd like, but it proves he's downloading them off the internet, and odds are that he does not have permission. I sincerely wish that Resident Evil had been released. Awesome doesn't even start to sum up how great that mod would have been.

Those ships are probably in the millions of polygons. Good luck displaying that in game without having your processor die. And what you're currently doing, is called stealing. There's a pretty good selection of Aliens models on the internet when you look with google, isn't there?

Disgusting. I've seen it happen too much. My friend Harvey and I watched one guy we knew start beating his wife, and we put a stop to it. It's sickening.

Excellent news. I have two cats and would be extremely sad if anything happened to them.

Why is that sad? I hate to say it, but to be honest, I'm kind of tired of the "We're in a war, give us free stuff" mentality. I'm completely broke, and if my printer broke and I had to pay for it to get fixed, I'd be SOL. A company's a company, they just want money like every other company out there. Why should they make an exception to someone in an extreme circumstance? That being said, that video is hilarious.
