  1. I need to modify a texture file in the Ghost Recon/Data/Shell/Art map. reticle_misc.rsb is the file I need to change. This seems to be the only rsb-file I cannot open. The rsb-tool I am using to convert to tga or bmp crashes when I try to convert this one. I need all help I can get here. Regards Rob
  2. I read in another forum that it's in the reticle_misc.rsb file, but I can't seem to open this particular file. I'm using the rsb tool you can download here at ghostrecon.net and I've used a rsb plugin for Photoshop and I've managed to open all other files but this one. Anyone know what may be the problem here? /Rob
  3. I actually tried that, but it doesn't matter what I do. I belive it is a separate texture somewhere. /Rob
  4. Hello again. I tried editing the reticle texture, but the full screen lines are still there. It seems to me they are independent of the normal reticle texture. If anyone knows how to get rid of these, please let me know. Regards Rob
  5. Ok. Thank you, avey2904. /Rob
  6. Hi! Sniper Rifles have this full screen cross on at all times. Does anyone here know how I remove those? Regards Rob
  7. "First and foremost they dont really look at this forum its not even the GR.com one.And second you might like something i dont so it makes it alittle harder for them to get all what you want." The first poster started a thread, and I gave my opinions. I don't really care wether they care about it or not, and I don't care about if you like it or not. I am just using this forum for discussion, which is in fact what it is meant for. I will keep the discussion going with you too. "My teammate shot me in the leg last night just to be funny and i just got wounded.and it does make your aim a lot more unstable(in the way that the reticule go ssslllooowwlllyy back to the middle)." I know there are different hit locations and wound levels, but I would like to have them improved. I've shot people in the face without killing them, not even stopping them from returning fire. Now when you mention it, I really dont like the reticle speed thing either. It would be a great improvement to add a little shake to it instead, perhaps combined with breathing. And you don't really get the feel for the recoil when all that happens is the reticle expanding. It would be nice to see the whole crosshair bounce upwards when you fire your gun. As it is now, anyone can hit anything they want as long as they wait for the reticle to close fully. "i dont know about you(like i said we all are different).but i dont want to be going around helping other guys when im trying to capture the base are do a mission." If my teammate goes down, I'd be more than happy to try and save his life. You could say it's just a game and so why should I care for my stupid teammates that got fragged because they suck? Personally I enjoy the semi-realistic simulation aspect of this game, not just the action part. There are other games out there if I want fast fragging action. Regarding lack of bullet penetration... "There is if you have ever looked at 3DS MAX(what they made GR with) there is a different hardness that only certian guns can go though it.(ever shot a M82 sniper rifle though a wood door,or shoot/throw a gernade on/by a door." I know doors can be destroyed yes. I've also tried shooting the M82 and I tell you, it is *NOT* realistic at all. It won't go through wooden walls. Sometimes even a window seems to stop the bullet. This may be a bug though. "Larger maps mean more polygons more polygons mean more lag which that mean it will go slower." Well, I am sure there are game engines that are capable of handling huge maps without lagging too much (Operation Flashpoint has some nice large maps). And the hardware is also constantly improving, so I am pretty sure they could implement larger maps than Ghost Recon currently has without too much trouble. Also, they don't have to be *that* much larger than the largest Ghost Recon maps, since they already are quite large. "If anyone finds me wrong plz post and tell me" The topic of this thread is Ideas for Ghost Recon 2. I'd say your post isn't exactly constructive in this matter but I respect your post as an idea of keeping the sequel as close to the [Ghost Recon] game as possible. /Rob
  8. How the heck do I quote people?
  9. Screwed up the quoting. Not used to this forum.
  10. I agree with all the things u mention above. Personally, I would like the developers to check out America's Army. Things that I would love to see included: A more realistic ballistics model (and wound ballistics). It should be harder to aim both for human players and AI-opponents. A bullet wound in the leg should have a big chance of not being fatal, but it would sure make you stop moving and most likely force you to go prone. Also, if not tended to within reasonable time, the wounded person would bleed out. A non-fatal wound should also make your aim a lot more unstable. This would mean there's room for a Medic class or at least some simple standard first aid skills available for all classes, for stopping bleeding wounds and keep your wounded mates from dying on the spot. About the aiming part, the breathing aspect of America's Army is a good way to make it harder to aim in a way that feels natural. Bullet penetration through different kind of materials, depending on material hardness and the range would be nice. Most modern firearms can penetrate a wooden wall, at close or medium range and some can shoot through concrete walls at some distance. The sound effects of the weapons in Ghost Recon could have been better, and some weapons like the OICW and Barrett M82 sniper rifle doesn't really have the qualities and features of their real-life counterparts. As I am a great fan of Cooperative multiplayer mode I would love to see this feature in Ghost Recon 2. With improved enemy AI and larger maps (possibly requiring use of vehicles for transport) containing both indoor and outdoor areas with more detailed missions that really require players to work together to accomplish different tasks and not just run around killing all enemies to succeed with the mission. In Ghost Recon there are Firefight, Mission, Recon and Defend modes available for cooperative gameplay. I would love to see more modes, or at least better customization possibility like setting the number of enemies, weather conditions and time of day. This and/or some sort of random mission generator for Cooperative and other modes could drastically increase the replayability and life span of the game. As would a user-friendly map/mission editor that the average gamer could use to create new missions. /Rob
