    IIRC, she had a terrible time during 'Nam when some ordanance went off and toasted the whole aft end of the boat. Spent quite a bit of time in refit to get her back in shape.

    Ah yes, the famous fire.

    We have all seen the footage on the discovery channel or the history channel.

    That's how it got its nickname: "Forestfire"

    A lot of bad things happened and 167 men died.

    The upside is a lot of changes were made as a result of that fire.

    mainly being the exclusive use of AFFF foam.

    Previously they had used just water or a combination of water and foam that turned out to be ineffective against the large quantity of jet fuel on the deck.

    Wow thats nuts lol....on a side note I've seen the USS Forrestal, resting in moth balls, a few times hehe....

    The Forrestal was a good ship.

    I spent some time on it:

    Summer 1986 - Med.

    Summer 1987 - North Atlantic

    Feb 1988 - New Orleans (Mardi gras)

    There are pictures of this test in the ships library.

    for the East I gotta go with Toronto, though I think there is another team in the East that may have a better chance but I shall not speak their name :ph34r:

    I think the east is up for grabs... Toronto is a good pick, I also like Boston's chances... new goaltending and new defensemen have made all the difference.

    I can't believe that you guys haven't filled your roster yet, with you getting ready to go in for Mission 4 of the SSL, I figured they'd be busting down your doors.
