Phantom and WhiteKnight,
Hey guys, thanks for the input. I've got latest patch for the Mac version; I have no difficulty with joining games, only with hosting.
How do I do a "direct ip?"
all help much appreciated!!

I'd really, really like to find the kind of team cooperative group you all are talking about. I've only recently begun playing GR via Gameranger on my dual 1.25gig Mac g4, but have had some experience with R6 and RS. I can't stand the "shoot 'em up" options for game play- shucks, it just isn't reality.
anyways, I'd sure like to join a group who works heard n team co-op play. I pass the age requirement by many, many years
and, while I can play to victory several GR firefight scenarios as a lone player (set to elite with 3 respawns) and no time limit, I still regard myself as a "noobie."Parenthetically, the game has real-world benefit to me in that I am a multiply certified LEO and non-sworn citizen weapons instructor.
thanks in advance for any help you all might be able to give me,

Ran the search function, couldn't find anything as a possible solution for hosting GR on my g4 dual 1.25gig w/ 768meg Ram, and I'm running OSX.2.6 I am connected to the internet via a D-Link router.
I have disabled the Mac firewall, enabled Internet sharing. I have DMZ'd my D-Link. With these changes, occasionally i'm able to get folks to have their names show up, but as soon as the game starts, they cannot play, nor, if I have "late joiners" allowed, I can see their name in the upper left and corner of the screen saying "so and so entered," immediately followed by "so and so exited."
sure would like to host, but darned if I can figure out how. Any and all help appreciated.

WhiteKnight77,
Yes, in fact when I do as you suggested, I get my IP network address. Is this the address I should post? If I do, how will I be able to restrict access only to [GR]? My ignorant self here says that if I post my internal IP, then "anyone" can get access to my computer.
Sure appreciate your collective help. I'm going to get this resolved because I'm getting tired of all the arcade shoot 'em ups and would prefer hosting really tactical coop games, since I've been unable to find any of them being hosted (once again, I'm pretty new here.)
thanks again, hope you all are having a good day and it's sunnier and drier than here in Philly.
