  1. BO didn't pick a horse... I pretty sure he knows which horse to pick though... ---- EDIT: I just plunked my money down on Thursday the 27th...The reason? I start work again on that day and we all know the universe would love to release the demo on a day I can't play it...
  2. This is really good news. I greatly enjoyed playing the PS2 and PSP versions together of Socom 3 and FTB and using the crosstalk option to unlock things in each game. I hope they work on the AI in the PS2 version though. The friendly AI in SOCOM 3 were worthless and the enemy AI were pathetic. With the huge maps offered in SOCOM 3, the enemy had no chance as I was able to recon and engage them at great distances before even being spotted...If the engine can handle it, I'd prefer a smarter enemy and a lot more of them... ---
  3. Wow...that really looked real... It opens up the Pandora's box when you start thinking what else could be faked on film by those with the skills and financial backing...
  4. Reminded me a bit of Half-Life 2 with the characters faces and the environments. Definitely looked interesting...
  5. 276.07 £ = $491.08 USD... My wife would have my stuff out on the front lawn in an instant...
  6. I really wish that Gainward card was available in the US...512MB of VRAM and an unlocked 20 pipelines... How much did you pay for it Rocky?
  7. WOW!! Good info there. I'm going to hold off till next month on an update. It will give me time to see how different systems are handling GR:AW PC, allow new vid cards to hit the market, and allow price drops on current cards...
  8. Actually, you may be right on this... http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=33005 This is what I was looking for. Therefore, for AGP users the NVIDIA 7800 GS GPU is the way to go. The game was designed around the NVIDIA technology and it is the fastest NVIDIA GPU available to the AGP crowd. Plus it is a whole lot cheaper than it's ATI competitor...the ATI Radeon X850 PE...
  9. I don't know why you received so much negative feedback on this vid card. ATI's X850 is one of the most powerful AGP cards out there. If you get the Platinum Edition (PE) you will definitely be able to run GR:AW on mostly high settings. Being able to run GR:AW on ALL high settings would require an AGEIA PHYSICS capable vid card...something most players won't have in time for GR:AW...
  10. Between playing SWAT 4 and now The Regiment, I finally had time to peel the wrapper off of this baby last night and "had a go" at a few of the training missions. My initial impression is that this is the greatest game I have ever seen on the PSP. The graphics and audio are top quality and the control scheme is amazing. Switching weapons and gadgets is a snap and the aiming feature is amazing. You can use the old standby auto-aim for quickly needed target acquisition or you can go manual. In addition, you can put the reticule on a target while ducking down or peeking around a corner and pop out for a second delivering a deadly shot. If you own the PSP, you need to pick this game up...
  11. Does anyone know whether or not ATI or NVIDIA will be a sponsor of GR:AW? Or did the devs just use some Aegia vid card to develop the game?
  12. awww shucks... Looks like I'll be getting a vid card with the 7800 GPU, but only 16 pipelines...
  13. Well, it was still impressive for those of us that do not have the real world experience... It is a shame that it turns out to be realistically incorrect however...
  14. Where would one find that particular card? I've been looking on newegg...there are a few there with NVIDIA 7800GS GPUs...
  15. Hey tech junkies... I am in the same boat as most people here, desiring to beef up my rig a bit but not having alot of green to spend... I have decided that my best bet would be to replace my current ATI Radeon 9600XT with a better card. However, I have great trouble trying to contrast and compare different generations and models... So someone please tell me, What is the best ATI AGP card? What is the best NVIDIA AGP card? I don't want to switch out my mobo yet to a PCI-E type... My current specs: AMD 64 3400+ Asus K8V SE Deluxe ATI Radeon 9600XT 128MB 1 GB Corsair PC 3200 Thanks in advance... [Merged into existing thread]
  16. £10,000? Wow... Ok, I obviously can't try and compare my specs to machines such as those... Like everyone, I'm just trying to get my machine beefed up a touch so that I don't have any problems running GR:AW... I'll peruse the computer threads where the talk of current AGP vid cards is ongoing... Thanks for the quick answers folks!
  17. Apologies if this was already asked...I didn't have the time (ok..desire...) to read the whole thread. The footage looked incredible...absolutely mindblowing. Does anyone know the specs of the computers that GR:AW was being played on at this event? I'm particularly looking for CPU, Vid Card, and Memory... ---
  18. Wow, they tore Sam a new one there. That is VERY surprising because Gamespy is very supportive of games and http://www.splintercellessentials.com is even using a preview quote from Gamespy in their ads... I guess Syphon Filter ruined it for other entries into the stealth/espionage categories...
  19. Hey all. I've recently been hitting this expansion pack pretty hard. For those that don't have it yet, I wanted to mention some of the cool stuff I've noticed and ask a few questions from SWAT experts... First, the maps are absolutely awesome. Some of them can be so breathtaking at times (like the huge devil in that concert map ) that it is difficult to maintain focus and not look at all the pretty scenery. Enemy AI has been greatly improved. They will resist alot more often and they will exit the surrender stance, pick their weapon back up and fire at you if you give them a chance! This greatly increases the players stress as he now needs to watch all surrendered suspects and clear the rest of a room simultaneously. The melee attack (punching an uncooperative suspect) is a nice touch. Although it is quite comical to see this little fist appear and punch a suspect, it is really handy to be able to keep your primary weapon out and not have to resort to the taser. This brings me to my questions: 1) The other day I was playing MP with a friend who was using the less-lethal shotgun. He pretty much opened up on any armed suspects right away. At the end we received some deductions for unauthorized use of force. So, my question is, even if you are using less-lethal primaries you still need to wait for the suspect to raise his weapon? This is realistic as a shotgun beanbag can kill IRL... 2) Can the 10 player co-op AND new weapons be used in MP on the original SWAT 4 maps? The games are played off of seperate CD's with seperate executables and I'm just wondering how to bring these new features to the original missions in MP. ---
  20. Thanks!! I finally got to see the HD version. It was alot better...
  21. Anyone have a current working link to an HD version of the PC trailer? The one Rocky posted earlier in this thread is no longer working...
  22. Yeah GRIN, please modify the body awareness so that when you look down you can see your beard. ← Somebody forgot to use a sarcastic smiley...
  23. Another poor review from IGN. I'm getting the game no matter what, because the titles that I am interested in are slim and I'm a huge SC fan...but I wish the reviews were a bit better... Full Review HERE
  24. I am totally lost... Your link went to a research report that showed that most American households prefer Sony products to Microsoft or Nintendo. This was done by Forrester Research. Why are you blaming Sony and making all of these accusations against them?
