As you have no doubt discovered, if you have more than 4 objectives 'active' you will crash the game. The only solution I have found is to remove completed objectives from the list before adding your new ones.

Hey mehn_15,
Go to your Ghost Recon\Data\Shell\Art directory where you will find main_menu-01.rsb thru main_menu-05.rsb. These are the images selected at random for the main menu. If you open one in photoshop you can drag the background layer of your image onto it. Hit Ctrl-T and hold down Shift while you drag the corners to resize it. Once you are happy with it, flatten the image and save it with the same name into your mods art directory. You will have to create all five if you want your image to show every time GR loads. The same deal applies to the shell_bgd-01.rsb thru shell_bgd-05.rsb's, which are the backgrounds for the mission selection menu screens.

Damn that Avatar of yours is good Tollen - did you do it yourself?
It really is classy

EDIT: Doh! Er, I meant signature

man i've never heard of that mission... could u or someone give me a link?... i would really like to try it based on ur info.
I found it at Ghostrecon.de - whether it will still work post patch remains to be seen though . . .
-
waiting..........................

Hey kris that's a fabulous website you've got there - very innovative

Das cattle-pult indeed! Very, very funny

-
Not nearly enough civilian activity on the missions. We need to have a much larger civilian group to interact with,...
We can do that now - the limitation is CPU grunt.
Did you ever play 'Riot in Belgrade'? - probably the most breathtaking mission ever made for GR. I still recall the actual real fear I felt the first time that armed mob rounded the corner - simply awsome

BTW, it's no accident that it occurs on the Embassy map as it is very CPU and GPU friendly.
-
yea that would be awesome if the dam link worked
Works just dandy here.Tell you what, email me and I'll send it to you

-
Yeh it's out Jack with the Campaign mods I sent them. They are sending me a few copies - I'll mail one of to you, and one of to Apollo as soon as I get them.
Wow, thanks Rocky! Very kind of you

-
I have only been able to play Saving Pilot Ryan thus far, and havent been able to get past the first map. hehehe.
Sorry to hear that m8.
Take a look at the spoilers.txt in the SPR directory for a walk thru on that mission.

I see on their website it's out and it's got a, quote: "buttload of mods for Ghost Recon" on the CD.
Has anyone spied it yet? Rocky?
I guess it'll reach Australia's sunny shores in a couple of months

Hey, wait a minute. The Canary Islands are in the Atlantic, not the Pacific.
Doh! That's true
Maybe whoever penned the quiz wanted to see if anyone was paying attention - it seems Kiff was . . .As to the answer, Google found me this:
"The Roman writer Pliny in his Natural History describes six of the islands, one . . . was called Canaria on account of the multitude of huge dogs roaming about. This is the first known use of the name Canaria, which has its root in canis, the Latin for dog."
-
the reason why I like it...
1) the sounds and graphics are stunning...
2) the movements and animations are stunning...
3) the weapons and equipment are perfect and well balanced...
4) it is by the far the most realistic and accurate counter terrorism tac sim...
and I think it is as close to the original series as can be...especially since the modelled weapon view will be an option...so the reticle only peeps will be happy...
the next time you get caught by a flashbang and you're ears are ringing or you're *gasping* for air cause the tear gas is choking you...you'll appreciate the game more...

Ditto!

1) The only difference is that, if they are DS maps they will rquire DS to be active for them to work. As such, if they are in the origmiss\mission directory they will still be visible in the mission menu even if DS is not active - trying to run them however (without DS active) will cause GR to crash. Conversely if they are in the mp1\mission directory they wil not be visible in the mission menu if DS is not active.
All this brings up another point. Unless they are server side only MP missions, I always unzip new missions and accompanying files into a mod directory of their own (they really should come like this anyway). This avoids the possibility of any original files being overwritten and keeps the quick mission menu much tidier as you can de-activate them when you're not playing them. To do this simply create a new folder in your mods directory with the relevant subdirectories, ie; mission, etc., then copy the modscont.txt from any other mod folder to your new one and modify the contents to a suitable description.
2) Absolutely! If you load Igor you can then choose Open or New from the file menu. Open will open an existing mission. If you intend to modify it, immediately create a new mod directory and save it there with a new name. If you choose New, Igor will load a template of the mission - that is, without the scripting, actors, etc., but with all the sound emitters, sound zones, bases, etc.
Hope that helps,
Cheers, Jack

Yikes man! You don't want to overwrite them
That's called burning your bridges . . .
You might find THIS thread helpful - you would achieve what you want the same way except with the sniper chr's etc.
But do it as a mod, not by overwriting.
Cheers Jack

ps: You can also download, on this site and Retreat, all 3 of my campaigns that have been translated by Giwex - and I believe 12 Weeks in Italian will soon be 'on the shelves'.

I have used counters in this way Urban_Tiger with no problems.
I'm not sure what's amiss - are you definately using a block preserve?
If you set up a block with the DeathCompanyMember trigger, then a block preserve and a counter you should be hunky dory. Put a debug message in the block to check that it's triggering.

Once you have copied the files over, select them all > RightClick > Properties > Uncheck ReadOnly.
Then RightClick on one file > OpenWith > NotePad (check the box for 'Always use selected program to open this kind of file'.
If you are using WinXP and there is no 'OpenWith' in the RightClick menu then just double click it and choose 'Select the program from a list'

there are several dynamic building objects on this map which can be destroyed with a Damage Effect - but not with rockets it would seem.
I was wrong about this - they are not destroyed
They simply use the HideMapObject with a Debris effect to give the appearance of the building being destroyed. You could do the same with the dynamic vehicle objects on the Embassy map - as far as I am aware they are not destructible like the chopper on Mountain Stronghold, so you wouldn't be able to query a rocket strike.
