  1. What if I kept HU activated and simply changed the settings to reflect original GR weapon characteristics and AI? Would that be feasible? I don't know how I would go about that... I would also want to change the HUD and ironsights, if possible. This way, I should be able to keep the maps, but tweak the weapon characteristics and AI.
  2. True. I do love having 150 different maps at my fingertips in HU, though. Oh well.

  4. I'll tell you a bit more about what I'm looking for. I'd like to preserve the enemy AI as it was in original GR. I'd like to preserve the original weapons and their characteristics. Everything else is optional.
  5. Hi y'all. Been awhile. Thanks for still being here. Life has finally calmed down enough to let me start playing again. I would like to extract out the maps from the Heroes Unleashed mod and just play those maps with the original Ghost Recon settings (with DS and IT activated). (,By the way, that is an amazing mod and I have really enjoyed it.) What folders do I need to copy out of the Heroes Unleashed mod folders into new mod folder ("Just Maps") in order to play them? I have tried several of the folders and have activated the Just Maps mod, but GR won't successfully start a quick mission. Thanks, hope to see you on the servers. remix

  10. I, too, don't understand the appeal of Red Square. Do people like it because it is easy to find the spawning locations to rape?

  14. Hmm, so the plugins are essential because without them, one can't export the finished files (in both Photoshop and 3DS Max) as a .rsb file? Dang. That kinda sucks. Might as well pony up and try to find an old version of 3DS Max to buy, especially because I don't want to spend a fortnight on a map only to find that some compatibility issue keeps it from working in 3DS Max.   15. I googled and searched the forums, no dice. How viable would using Blender (http://www.blender.org) instead of 3DS Max and Gimp (http://www.gimp.org) instead of Photoshop be? I know there are some plugins that Photoshop uses but how essential are they? Edit: This is in regards to creating maps ONLY. I would not be worried about anything else at this point...but if you have info about how they would work with weapons, vehicles, etc, I'd be very grateful for that info as well. Thanks, remix

  20. I would heart that so much, Alex, thanks! As long as invisible really means invisible, that it, completely transparent and not just showing up as a block of white or something in my HUD... Tinker, I don't have Photoshop, unfortunately. I don't know if Gimp (the open source alternative to PS) allows for alpha channels but I can wade through and see if Gimp supports them...I really have no idea (yet) about what alpha channels are or how to edit them but I think I can google it. Thanks for the info, peeps.
  21. Hi, I googled 'til my eyes goggled but I couldn't find any live links for mods that completely remove the threat indicator from my HUB in Ghost Recon. Does anyone have a mod that does that? Disabling the TI isn't what I'm looking for; I'd like to have it removed from the HUB without losing the reticule. Thanks, remix
  22. Thankfully, yes. SneekyPete told me what upslope/crater glitching was after I almost did it once. I was definitely unaware about it when I started. I'm not sure what other unintentional actions I might do that are considered cheats.
  23. Hey, First, just finished playing for the first time today on the GRF server and met some great players there. Thanks to GR.net and Apex for providing this awesome resource. I have much of the next month off and while I enjoyed the games I experienced today on GRF, I find myself wanting to go through some of the missions with a few co-op partners. My time zone is Pacific/West Coast US and I'd be up for gaming during the day or early evening (before midnight). I have GR vanilla, mp1, mp2, Heroes Unleashed, Frostbite and Rockall, to name a few. I'm looking to go through some of these mission levels the old-school, hard-core way; no restarts, if team members die keep going, maybe one save throughout the game level, etc. I have TeamSpeak but would prefer to use Mumble. My xfire is remix972. Hope to play with you soon! remix
