Awesome Hotpants, from what I've seen from it, I can't wait.

Well I can't do mapping, but that is a good idea. Except, you'd probably want to do 4 or 5 different maps. For example, the Creekbed, the Knoll, the LZ, the Base Camp, etc;, make it a whole lot easier on the CPU's. Make it into your own campaign...O the possibilities...

Nice, thanks Avey.

I was wondering if there was a Total Conversion Vietnam mod for Ghost Recon anywhere out there, or even a character/weapon mod. And since you guys would know better than me, could you help me out?
Just wondering. Also, sorry if this post has been brought up before, too lazy to look.

Go to Suicide Commando's link, go to downloads, and download WOI 2.0, then d/l WOI 2.1, 2.1a, and the restriction file, and you'll be set.

I play alot of my time on the Battalion Command SAR IT server, it's almost always full, they have stats that are updated on their webpage, they also have an Anti-Cheat installed. Pretty awesome if you ask me.

Welcome to the WOI Community! If you're ever interested in playing online, the 2nd SS Panzer Division has a dedicated server up: 207.235.33.34 Not many people play online, but occasionally you'll find some people in there.
Also, if you do play online, and you're interested in joining a squad, here's two I highly recommend:

Interested in playing a WWII mod? (War of Infamy)
If you are there are a few squads you may be interested in joining, the 5th Rangers, of which I am a member (link in my sig), and the 2SS Panzer Div.
We're always looking for good, mature players, do you fit the bill?

There has been some question as to WOI and a new mod called Icebreaker:41-45 because of the very similiar content in the mods. We hope this will help clarify things.
The Icebreaker mod is made up of the content created for the War of Infamy EF expansion. However, upon the resignation of our vehicle modeler Den "slugg" Pichy, this content is now being used for his own EF mod, Icebreaker as an independant mod, so it will not contain WOI weapons, sounds, or characters. It will also not require WOI v2.1a to run.
As for the WOI EF expansion, it will still contain the content created for it and the EF expansion will be released as planned and promoted on this site.
Over the next few weeks, there may be some talk about talks between the WOI team and Icebreaker author, however we will not be commenting on it publicly and will be strict on its discussion in our forums.
Thanks,
WOI Dev Team
Well...being from a WOI squad I'd thought I'd mention a few things.
I don't think WOI is over with, there is actually a large community of players who play it. The site is down, the reason is because they are switching web-hosting sites. Here's the temporary site: War of Infamy.
Sure there can be more than one mod based on WWII. Right now, WOI is much more inclusive than I:B, which may/may not change.
As far as I know, he did not steal the stuff (but I could be wrong), he was part of the dev team for WOI, and decided that he wanted to make his own mod. So he most likely took the work he did for WOI and used it in his I:B. I personally do not want to hear anyone accuse him of stealing stuff from WOI.
Everyone just needs to chill.
And now to the mod. I found that Icebreaker: Barbarossa consists of great maps, great missions, well made uniforms and weapons, good scripting, and everything else in between was good. The only thing I find difficult is to destroy tanks, trying to throw a HE AT Handgrenade into the top hatch of a Tiger tank going full bore at one of your outposts isn't the easiest thing.
Regards,
PFC Magic, 5th Ranger Battalion

Glad to help.

Try Graywolf's Rangers. An honorable squad who are well liked in the War of Infamy community. I'm not quite sure if they play only WOI or are a well-rounded squad. They are a co-op squad, and as I said, well liked.

Camping is: hiding, or staying in one spot for a long amount of time, and being of no help to the team.
Camping is not: protecting an important passage or area of a map, it is also not staying in one spot where enemies are likely to come by.
No offense, but I can't stand people who make "camper" accusations, if the person is hiding, be my guest to do so...also, don't call a sniper who is covering half of the map a "camper", because thats what snipers do!

I'd also like to add, nice job!

I play mostly SAR on the Battallion Command servers, I'm almost always a sniper, and I have a few "sweet" spots I like to go to on a lot of the maps...such as RBridge, Night Docks, River, Villiage (probably the same one you're talkin about, so if you're ever in the room with me, watch out!
), and a few others just to name some...but I can't tell you where, cause then everyone would know my secrets!

well, I could honestly care less about the airbursting capabilities because I never use the OICW...Don't worry, I'll tell you why..It's because it is far too unrealistic in some features, yes the 40mm and 20mm difference, but the zoom is my main concern. I've noticed that the SOCOM has this problem also. How a SOCOM and an OICW both have more zoom than a sniper rifle just totally baffles me. That has just made being a sniper nearly impossible, while you can get one or two shots of at long range, the riflemen halfway across the map can put 30 rounds into you before your ret gets small again. Yeah, yeah, I know.. "Don't be a sniper." My point is that in real life, it DOESN'T work like that, and for anyone asking for a "more realistic" game, thats just one thing you should be concerned about.

nice thanks all, but that host is a little bit expensive...any people out there know of some cheaper ones?

How do you get, start, or set up a dedicated server?
ANY help on this would be awesome considering I have no clue how to do it.
Help with mission insertion!

Yeah I would say its something else, like if you used WOI to make the mod, and WOI isnt turned on when you run it, the game will crash. So maybe you used textures or characters that were not activated?
