  1. I bought some cheap headphones a while back, I've since gotten better ones, and it came with a simple USB adapter for a mic and headphone jack. I put this in earlier and have played from the 2nd mission to the Russian Airfield mission without any problems. I suppose unless it's fixed, I'll just have to be happy with this, and switch it back out when I want to play things with my 'real' speakers. What IS the problem with the integrated sound card anyway? Just incompatibility?
  2. I disabled my SoundMAX Digital Integrated HD Audio and I've been playing for a solid 2-3 hours straight, NO CRASHES OR LOCKS OR PROBLEMS. Now the question is: How to fix the integrated audio so it's compatible with GRFS? Or is it simply a USB audio card that is necessary? Edited original post.
  3. Hey guys! Thanks so much for all the replies, I know you guys are super cool so I came here first... First off my dxdiag: MeanMF and =warcloud=: I'm sure it's not my GPU as I can play other games fine just like djmorgan can. Neither 5880 is overclocked, both at factory settings. And yes, I disabled Crossfire per the UBI instructions. belvucker: I just now remembered having the same issue on Battlefield: BC2. My friend was bugging me to get it so I bought it on a steam sale. It would do the exact same thing until I disabled my generic onboard audio and hooked up an external soundcard (it was the only alternative I had available). That DID fix the issue. I wonder if this is just the same thing in which case... ...Riprie: it would definitely be a sound card issue. I shall investigate! Riprie and djmorgan, try disabling your current soundcard and hooking up an external or a different internal one, or just play the game from the beginning without sound and see how long you can go.
  4. EDIT: I disabled my SoundMAX Digital Integrated HD Audio and I've been playing for a solid 2-3 hours straight, NO CRASHES OR LOCKS OR PROBLEMS. Now the question is: How to fix the integrated audio so it's compatible with GRFS? Or is it simply a USB audio card that is necassary? Hey guys, long time visitor to GR.net. Was on the fence about buying this only because it's Ubi, not because of Ghost Recon... But when I play the game, and it's seemingly random intervals of time, the entire game will lock up with the stuck repeating sound effect and I have to hard reboot my computer. I tried installing the latest ATI drivers and it seemed to last longer, but still happened. What do you recommend I try? Far Cry 2 did the same thing and I never figured out what the issue was, and that caused me to stop playing it, which sucked because I actually liked that game! And this one too! Thanks for any input.
