Urban War Revisited Is Ready For Public Release
JohnTC02 replied to JohnTC02's topic in GR:AW 2 - Mission Modding
Hi Kingpin/Kaapo, Thanks for the detailed report, it's always best to post any issues with maps here rather than in the download section as more people will be able to help. I'm sorry you are having problems with my mission, the reason I asked you to post your problem here is that I have very little knowledge regarding dedicated servers I test my missions using a lan server and leave it to the beta testers to test using there own dedicated severs as they know more about this than me. Reading your post are you saying that you have found a fix for your problem and it would help if I lis -
Castle Hill Is Ready for Beta Testing
JohnTC02 replied to JohnTC02's topic in GR:AW 2 - Mod Beta Testing
Thanks to all that have tested the mission so far. Ok, here's v1.4. The main changes here are at the insertion area, I have added more cover so hopefully you won't be slaughtered quite so much when you first spawn, not sure if this has improved the game play though so let me know what you think. I have also removed the AI Graph around the spawn point this might stop the bots' from moving into that area, also changed the patrol paths for some of the AI there so this should stop some of the initial rush of bots' coming to greet you. Relocated some AI that were getting stuck in t -

Castle Hill Is Ready for Beta Testing
JohnTC02 replied to JohnTC02's topic in GR:AW 2 - Mod Beta Testing
Thanks for testing Porter, I will take a look at the bots' you mention and relocate them. Did you notice if the textures are ok, I done a lot of work reducing these so I'm curious to see if I've gone to far with them. Dav, Thanks for the info mate, I have sent a PM to [HI]Galor. I know you have loads of time on your hands (drinking beer on the beach all day) so why not get your Castle mission finished, I really liked your beta version. Thanks, John -
Castle Hill Is Ready for Beta Testing
JohnTC02 replied to JohnTC02's topic in GR:AW 2 - Mod Beta Testing
Thanks for testing Sightreader, I did wonder if it was a bit to much a the start, I have seen in previous missions that the smoke can cause some lag but I will have a look and see what I can come up with. I did add a warning on the building at the initial spawn location, as for adding a image I don't think there is one in the graw2 editor and as far as I know adding a custom sign would mean designing a new one from scratch then finding some way of adding it to the editor, I have no idea how this could be done. Pleased you like the choppers, you only have yourself to blame for that l -
Ghost Town [v3] is ready for the public

Thanks for testing TripleX, I have made the changes you mentioned regarding the heli crew. A new version (v3) should be added to the downloads section soon. Thanks, John -
Castle Hill v1.3 is ready for testing. I think some of you may have tested this mission a while ago but it was never released. The mission was scripted on Biro's great map Castle Day. This version has a lot of changes, as before it has been opened up to allow players to complete it in any order they wish. I kept most of the objectives, one has been changed and I have added one more. I have reduced the textures by over 20Mb (they have been reduced by 50%), I'm not sure if I have gone to far with this so have a look and see what you think, I did this to try and reduce the lag. If

Urban War Revisited Is Ready For Public Release
JohnTC02 posted a topic in GR:AW 2 - Mission Modding
Urban War Revisited v2 is now ready for the Public. There are four missions in the bundle, day and night multiplayer missions and day and night lone wolf missions. This mission has the same storyline as the current public version but will be a new release as it has been completely revamped, it has been designed to be installed alongside the old version and should not cause any conflicts. Hi Anthony, Thanks for testing, must say it's good to see you around again it's been a bit quiet here lately just had a two or three people testing my missions. It was Goose that suggested having the respawn point there, as you say it's a sensible place for it as it's a fairly quiet location and not to venerable. I have one or two small fixes that have been mentioned then I will start the process of getting it released. Thanks, John

Ghost Town [v3] is ready for the public
JohnTC02 replied to JohnTC02's topic in GR:AW 2 - Mission Modding
Hi TripleX. Thanks for testing. I wanted to keep the heli quite high, if there is any lag on the map then it dose effect how well the heli fly's, I did notice when testing that the heli didn't always hover at the same height so I thought it best to have it at this height to allow for any problems. Thanks also for finding the errors in my code, not sure how I did this but it's all sorted now, it wouldn't effect the mission in any way, I just forgot to give the blackhawk crew a name and gave max health to the wrong heli crew. I saw you online testing the mission, I was going to join -
Ghost Town [v3] is ready for the public
JohnTC02 replied to JohnTC02's topic in GR:AW 2 - Mission Modding
Hi TripleX, Haven't seen you around for a while, been missing you testing my missions. Anyway, the Blackhawks are a pain in coop missions, I think the problem is it's hovering to low so I have raised it a little. Give this version a try, I have made it v2.1, as it's not really a beta version just a fix, so I hope it's ok to post it here, I have used my usual password. Let me know how you get on Triplex, if it's ok I will get it added to the downloads section. John Link: -
Thanks Sightreader, At the moment these crash reports are my main problem, just wish I new more about them and what they mean there are so may of them. Now in the final testing stage on my Castle mission so I hope to post a beta here in the next few days. John

If there are no more comments/issues here I may as well get this ready for release. Sightreader, I asked Dav regarding the crash you had but he hasn't come across this one before, all he could suggest is it could be one of those GRAW moments, just doing what it dose best!! I'll give it a couple more days to see if anyone else has anything to add then get this one finished. Thanks all, John

Hi Sightreader, WOW!! pleased you like it, I also thought it was a big improvement. It was your feedback from the last mission that helped make this one better, those long and detailed posts really helped, just hope I can remember it all for the next one so i will need your feedback again. I don't think we need to change a lot here, this mission seems quite stable so I don't want to add more that might cause problems, learnt that mistake from the last one. Thanks for testing Sightreader, much appreciated. John

Thanks for the test Rahn, I will take a look at the fence you mentioned, I had to place two gas cans behind the fence as it wouldn't explode if you placed c4 on it so I needed to move it in slightly to allow the gas cans to stay in place, I will probably put a mover there to keep players from getting behind it. Operation: Missile Something or other
JohnTC02 replied to bogiegraphics's topic in GR:AW 2 - Mod Beta Testing
Hi Bogie, Just played v1.2. I don't know what to say, It's... It's... It's AMAZING!!!! really good work Bogie, your missions just keep getting better. Looks like your break has recharged your batteries. Can't remember getting so engrossed in a mission for ages. Ok, I think that's enough of that, The lag I mentioned before has completely gone it played very smooth, my average frame rate was around 40, I think it dipped to 25 on one occasion and sometimes peeked in the high 80s. The tank was a lot better for me it was much more enjoyable completing that part of the mission. I thought -
Crashsite Escape Revisited Is Ready For Public Release
JohnTC02 replied to JohnTC02's topic in GR:AW 2 - Mission Modding
Hi Sightreader, Thanks again for all the help with testing this mission. It was me that locked the beta thread. When beta missions are released to the public I lock the beta thread and include a link to the release thread on the final post, then all comments/issues can be posted there. This is done to make it easier to see which beta's are still active. For more info take a look at the pinned thread on the Mod Beta Testing forum. John -

Operation: Missile Something or other
JohnTC02 replied to bogiegraphics's topic in GR:AW 2 - Mod Beta Testing
Hi Bogie, Just tested your mission, as Sightreader mentioned the bridge was quite easy after I cleared it I was able to snipe most of the AI at ground level from the bridge, taking these out from both sides of the bridge was quite straightforward. I then made my way down the steps with little resistance, going around the trenches I was thinking this is unlike Bogie, it's just to easy and then I came across that tank, no mater what I did it kept killing me I did manage to get a good view of it but my zeus just wouldn't lock on, after many deaths I managed to go around the perimeter of th -
Ok, version 1.6 is ready for testing. There's a few changes here that Rahn and Goose highlighted. 1. The Pilot objective is not available until all the rest are completed, I have changed the access to the pilot there is now only one way in, you have to approach from over the chapel then you will need to c4 the fence or use a grenade to enter. I have also made the pilot get across the rooftops a bit faster. As before he will wait at the top of the last building until you have cleared the extraction point. The purpose of blocking off this area is to stop players from being at that location w

Operation: Missile Something or other
JohnTC02 replied to bogiegraphics's topic in GR:AW 2 - Mod Beta Testing
Hi Bogie, It's really good to see you back at the helm again, we sure have missed you and your mods. I'm downloading it now and will give it a test in the next few days. I'm a bit busy at the moment. Let's hope your return will bring some of the beta testers out of hiding. Take care, John -
Thanks Rahn, Strange, I just checked my code and the new respawn point should be triggered if you take out the Antenna. I'm not sure why you got disconnected, it might be what you suggested that it could be due to the server. If you have this problem again at the same point then let me know. I made the pilot stay on top of the building to make it look as if he was hiding until the Ghosts completed the mission so it would be safe for him to head to the extraction point as he only has a pistol to defend himself. Not to sure what to do about this, I could do as you suggest and have

Thanks for testing Rahn, I've been working hard in this forum getting it organized. it should be easier to see which beta's are active as I have locked all the released missions and added a link to the mods official public release and discussion thread. Yes this was intentional, it's to keep you all on your toes . With Sightreaders help we thought this was the best way to use the heli's. I think Sightreader is busy so I don't know if he will be testing the mission, I'll wait another day or so then start the process of getting the mission released. Thanks, John
