The thing to check out are the maps in the streaming video in the MP section. Amazing looking, the maps look huge, great graphics especially the grass. Extremely nice site.
The destroyed city map would be great for a Stalingrad mod or a post apocalyptic mod.
Trees look better too.

You could try Free Russia, Sabre teams, G8, Navy SEALS, NMM, Standard Upgrade, Sotoplaster. They only require GR.

I think it's great to have a choice. I want to try it in game, even if I switch back for combat. It may give modders some more flexibility in making cinematics. It's all good for me.

I think he wants to do all 31 missions in 1 campaign. Why couldn't you make a mod with a custom campaign .xml file with all the missions. You could carry a team with full stats through to DS and IT?

I live 15 miles from CFB Gagetown and we have always appreciated the work of the RCR. I think the mission to Afghanistan increased the respect level and appreciation for the Canadian forces.
I'm not sure what role our tanks play since we don't have air transport capable of delivering them to theatre, I am not sure if even a Stryker will fit without modification.
The government has to stop putting off the defence review and decide what kind of force we are to have and how we will project it.

You know, of course, this glitch cheating did not start with people, the game AI invented it.
Last night I was playing BIA on elite, had 1 team in the polling station, 2 on opposite corners. I was leaning out prone using binos and pistols to nail the UN guys. After 1 kill, i went to crouch and moved back from the corner hugging the building and I got shot once, twice,dead through the building. It was the guy by the mounted gun on the left. I killed him so that was his reward.
Once, playing at TG, a player was shot by the AI on the docks map through a solid wall when his foot clipped the wall.
It works both ways, I have shot enemy when their grubby little paws clip through a door, not very sportsman like, but, they started it. What can you do, can't boot them.

I like the tracers and muzzle flash on night maps. Very cool.

I still love Piccolo's Navy SEALS 2.1.

I definitely want to try the OTS for the immersive effect. I may go right back to the traditional FPV, but I want to try it first. Not that I am a good player, but, I totally suck at 3rd person games. I do better in FPV. When you get older, you appreciate weapon zoom more.

Don't care for the game engine, but, I never once found a server where there was even a modicum of interest in team play or communication. GR coop and team v team, especially with TS, was far more tactical and team oriented than this game, and a lot more fun.
The Army would have been better served making a good single player game that incorporated tactics and planning, squad orders, maybe with accompanying videos showing actual tactical planning and execution. The way most people play AA would get them and their platoon killed in a real combat situation, so they are really learning nothing about real military tactics.

The weapon textures look a little poor, but, they have to clean up that HUD, way too cluttered.

Monolith's Resident Evil mod was never released and Chem's Starship Troopers mod has not been either. I cannot think of any mod that fits the occasion.

Interesting read, hands on preview from San Fran show. One interesting point he made and I hope it is in PC is that there was no confirmation of each kill in the game, which means you have to make sure the enemy are in fact all dead before moving on. That could make for some nasty surprises.

If anyone wants that kind of thing in the game, they should mod it in. I say keep the game the way it is now. And I respect the differences of opinion.

In the Free Libya mod, there is an animation where some African hostages leap forward to the ground and vibrate on the ground like that. Not sure why that animation is for. They look like they're break dancing.

These features are not wanted in GR because they will affect the game balance, besides the sniping distances are too short for these factors. This is something to include in a mod. GR has struck the correct balance with the ret bloom and contraction.

You can edit the tracers out of the .gun file, so I assume you can do the same for GR 2, if you want.

The game looks very interesting, very similar structure to BIA. The key would be the AI, if you have to micromanage them, the game will be crap. Also, I don't care for the OTS view as the only view, they should include a FPV as an alternative.

There are 2 - enemy realism and general enemy realism. General enemy realism modifies enemy and your weapons to make them more realistic. The enemy guns are modified by changes to the .gun files.

Someone mentioned a server setting for a timed invulnerability at spawn points, even random spawn points, to foil spawn campers. Interesting.
I'm interested in knowing how Lone Wolf works in PC.

Why the government bought these junk subs is beyond me. The first two failed their first sea tests and now require several hundred million dollars of renovations to make them seaworthy. One had a huge dent in it from a collision. They should have been sea tested by the RCN before they were bought. If you bought a used car, wouldn't you look it over first? Test drive it?
Actually, they should have spent the $750 million on surface ships like a frigate or they could have replaced some aging Coast Guard ships or even bought some much needed S & R helis. Another squandering of money by this incompetent Liberal govt, that ###### Graham should resign forthwith. The Canadian military deserve better than this.
