  1. - web based server browser with enhanced game info, better net code, no chat lobby or if chat lobby - live moderators.

    - anti cheat for public servers, better banning procedures, no anti cheat ingame, replays for dedis and clan servers.

    - ability to build kit restrictions in server edit.

    - medic for MP, but can be restricted.

    - no air strikes for MP

    - any wapons available in MP, subject to restriction.

    - cannot shoot while rolling or crawling.

    - no jumping, weapon view, head bob, weapon sway.

    - ability to select AI and their weapons, as well as default selection.

    - keep the longer time frame for reloading and weapon switching, especially from rifle to AT, is harder and more realistic.

    - please- some suppressed weapons. Don't see any so far. At least add the Socom.

    - keep the save system, don't use save points.

    - keep dropped weapons on the ground or toggle the feature. Otherwise no point to this feature and you might as well dispense with it. If there is a situation where I might want to swap out for a sniper rifle or an SMG, I will want to swap back and don't want my M8 to "disappear". I have never run out of ammo in GR, but, if I did, I would certainly grab the first thing that shoots. If guns on the ground disappear, not sure what this feature is good for.

  2. It looks very good, but, I have yet to see anyone make any tactical use of the squad, it's all me-me-me and advance-advance. I know the hands on demos focused mostly on the MP play, but, even the game site previews do not demonstrate any tactical application. It seems most game previewers are playing the game simply as another action game.

I'd like to see the squad AI show what they can do and some tactics you can do with the squad. The AI was a weak sister in GR and I would like to see if the team AI is improved.

  3. That video by Team Complete rocks! Thanks to them. Showed a lot of features, like the slower weapon reloading time. The combat sequences looked brutal both SP and MP. GR has the best hit impact - you really feel it. Nice variety of weapons, the AT loadout looked like only 2 missiles, is there more for demo?

Was that Brooklynne FD in the vid? Mama cita!

I am so jazzed for this game and gotta wait, this type of stuff is just torment to watch. You want to see it, yet it kills you can't play it. :D

  4. Quote:

"The only aspect I've so far come to dislike about GR 2 is the incredibly slow weapon switching. While I understand this is supposed to be realistic, getting to the ready position with a new weapon or even a grenade is exceptionally long considering the aggressiveness of enemies."

If you are switching from your M8 to AT, this new feature probably mimics more accurately the time involved in such a cumbersome exchange. This is a good feature that shows RSE was listening. The above quote suggests that he did not make good use of cover nor did he utilize his squad to cover or suppress.

I think some of the poor reactions come from people who may be FPS challenged or, like Gamespot, too steeped in RPG. I don't think some of these reviewers understood the squad command system or even the basic rules of maneuver and engagement in a tactical combat game like GR, which is more unforgiving than the arcade action game.

  5. Go slowly and cautiously and save often.

If you send a squad ahead, use the ROE "recon". They will stop and report contact and you will see the red dots on the map. Switch to that squad and try to find the enemy by sight. Move the squad into a good position, go prone and open fire. It's good to see how many are in the patrol before you fire. After you finish them, stay in that position for a few seconds. Make sure other enemy do not respond to the sound of gunfire. Then have your other squads join on your position.

When you move, bring up the map occasionally that you can look at while moving. Sometimes enemy will show up on the map before you see them. When you encounter enemy, try to use cover or go prone before attacking.

Read the walkthroughs, save often, go slow and perservere. I'm an old fart too, and despite poor eyes and reflexes, I love GR. Post or PM if you need help. Cheers.

  6. I think this game will be ripe for modding, but, it will depend on when they release the tools. Without the plug ins, there cannot be any new weapons, skins or maps. Personally, I really like the total conversions, gives a complete new feel to the game.

I guess I won't be getting a console, my copy of Sabre Squadron arrived today, that campaign and coop MP should hold me until next May.

  7. OXM was negative to the original GR, and I suspect the validity of the review, especially compared to other magazines hands on impressions. For console players, the thing would be to wait and rent the game first, if you have any doubts.

  8. I am still in shock from playing this unaduterated POS. What is the name of God happened to 2015, did everyone there go to COD? This game is a huge step back even for arcade games. All the gameplay is trigger points and waves of VC. The worst AI I have ever seen, the numbest AI dialogue with the foulest language. The AI routine is to run around in a circle shooting in the air.

The weapon models are absolute garbage. I cannot believe this came from the same company that made MOH. And there are pointless cutscenes every 10 seconds.

The grenade physics are great - you can barely throw one 20 feet.

MOV, Nam 67, Conflict Vietnam - all crap. Please stop making games about Vietnam, there an insult to everyone.

  9. I agree. Last time out, X Box was more of a port to console and some console players thought they got short shrift. This time they want to make sure they produce the best console game they can, a real quality product. They already know they can make an excellent PC game because they have done it before and I have no doubt that GR 2 will be as good or better.

  10. Hey All,

A little help for an older mod.  Operation:Iraqi Freedom.

I am playing mission 6: Iraqi Offensive

I am supposed to hold the position and kill off all the tanks.  Problem:  7 tanks

only 6 m136/AT4s.  Tried blowing up the last tank with 15 M203 rounds nothing.

    Any ideas??

    Thanks

    R0gue13

Do you have a demo specialist you can add for the mission? If not, use the "refill" cheat.

  11. Not to add more to this, but this argument has been ongoing for PC gamers for a long time. Players have a vast array of computers and connection types and people with faster processors and faster connections arguably have an advantage in adversarial gameplay. So be it. That's just the way it is. You can't administer or control all aspects of gaming.

  12. From the BIA forums, it is disappointing to report there will be no co-op in BIA, as it stands now. The closest to it is a form of T vs T with the squads filled out with AI, and team based objectives. The reasoning was because of the scripting, AI , etc.

It seems too many games ship now without co-op, which is my favourite MP gametype. I think we have to be grateful for GR 2 for keeping co-op in the game when so many other title have left it out.
