Same problem with BIA, the copy protection interfered with some DVD burners. Try uninstalling the Nero and running the game.

Use the special forces weapons, they have a nice red dot, but, good luck with all the armor running around. You don't stand a chance without AT. I do like the 30 shot, one kill approach, such a refreshing change from GR. {sarcasm} Whatever form GR 3 takes, it will be 100 times better than this rubbish.

We see it, we just don't like it.

Nice find, there's a real good Lockdown video too.

I have no definite info, but, I have read that the 360 will support usb connection for mouse/keyboard, but, they will not be supported in games, only for text messaging. Has anyone read any info regarding this? Gaming will be restricted to the controller. Anyone?...Class?...Anyone?

You can't go wrong with 12 Weeks on elite.

There are MP adversarial T vs T games already available with great graphics like BF2 and OE for Far Cry. It is almost an impossible task to make an SP/coop game , even established companies cannot seem to make a good modern tactical shooter. For me, BIA and FTF were terrible disappointments for different reasons, and the lack of any alternatives indicate the apparent difficulty in making a good game in this genre. GR 3 is my best hope for now. For reference, my idea of good tactical games are GR and HD2, I also play SWAT 4, which is good, but, not in that category. My experience with SWAT 4

The scifi aspect as regards to the comms and intel is fine and even offers good tactical use if properly implemented. The weapons hopefully will remain near future, and, to that end, will still be rifles and machine guns, with a recognized round. That is the area where I would like to see more traditional, with other standard weapons included. Supplementing the ability of the marksman rifle with thermal scope would be a nice enhancement. The weapon from GR 2 with the camera view would be nice to include in a restricted way, as it was in GR 2.
-
The big hurdle would be the creation of the AI, enemy and/or squad.
-
The bottom line is that the forum members have given Grin a wealth of great ideas and suggestions for the game, if even a fraction are implemented, the game should rock.

With no pc info, it's too early, hopefully, there are ideas in the forums that the devs at Grin will look at. When the pc gameplay movies start coming, things will be much clearer. If in doubt, the demo will tell the tale.

Good post. I am another older gamer that likes to get some gaming in when I can. I am optimistic about a new company taking on GR 3 and I am going to buy it irregardless, because it is GR, and there are no alternatives for my taste. The GR 2 expansion looks like it has implemented some nice tactical elements and I think it is a good sign that GR 3 is also going in that direction.

What is the point of your posts? Are you deliberately trying to start a flame war?

Latest Weapons = GR1 no more ? ...

Why is it such an issue to include more weaponry, especially silenced and suppressed weapons. The point is that choice is better, it gives you more options. Then you can play the mission any way you want, take any weapon you want, if you make apoor or inappropriate choice, it's on you. I don't understand the objections to having more options. -

The weapon selection in GR 2 in SP was very limited, I am just saying, allow a fuller selection of weaponry in GR 3 so that people can play the missions the way they want. -
This confirms what I am saying about modders moving away from GR because of the direction of the game development. Harntrox was one of the most innovative, prolific and brilliant of GR modders, and he will not be the only one coming to the same conclusion. If OFP were more like GR, I would consider that choice, but, I hated eveything about OFP.

The question is: what if you could? Is this the kind of thing that you would like to be able to do in GR 3? For this to work, you would need a good waypoint system, good pathfinding, proper ROE, and good AI. I found that in GR, you could not have the AI conduct aggressive assaults, they exposed themselves to fire too much. But, the ROE allowed you to move them around the map in recon mode and place them in proper locations. I had very good results with using the assault at all cost and recon together to get them to hold in place without firing in prone and then give the suppress command whe

What I would like to know and what I did not get from the video is how you control your squad. Can you give orders to each man? Is that part of the reason for the outline? Can you give the same order to 2 men at once? Can you order a man to go to a certain position on the map and hold there? Can you order your squad to use AT? What does offensive and defensive mean in detail? If this is going to be a squad based game, then the way you control your squad is the guts of the game. I would like to be able to move operators around in recon mode until I was satisfied with their positioning, orde

I have no problem with the modern weaponry, but, expand the selection of weaponry to give more choice and variety. Include weapons like the M16 and M4, and include suppressed versions. Include suppressed SMGs and sniper rifles. If not for campaign, at least for quick missions and MP. Modders, if supported, can build campaigns with expanded weapon selection. -
The biggest problem with HD2 is that very few people play coop and those that do don't play like a team, using tactics. MP adversarial is like COD, all run and gun.

HD2 is the GR of WW2, complete with fairly poor AI. If you liked the demo, you will like the game and the expansion. There are a lot of interesting features like silenced weapons and the ability to change into a captured German's uniform. I would advise using the menu commands for the squad, not the tac map, except for moving. The AI are not good for initiating assaults, like the GR AI, as they expose themselves to fire. They are very good at covering your flank and ambushes. You have a large selection of weapons and equipment, you can drive flakwagons and tanks, the maps are large and v

"You can make a good game with everything that made the first GR great without being a clone of it. " Totally agree, I have no problem with the story, the weaponry or the intel setup, I want the good elements of GR considered for inclusion in GR 3 - large, open maps; precise squad control and good squad AI; varied objectives; lots of choice in how to approach and accomplish objectives, but, mostly, i want a game that you can play more than once without getting bored. You don't have to copy or clone GR, just implement the things that made it good. -
Sure, it makes a nice movie, but, does it make a good game? The jury is definitely still out.

"so hang on a minute, you people just want a game the same as GR1? Why not just play that then? A sequel has to be different, OTHERWISE ITS THE SAME GAME" Take a look at your signature. What do you think that classic recon refers to? It's not about the weapons, it's about the gameplay. If you are going to clone a game, then clone a good one, clone GR, not COD. -
Until I see some evidence to the contrary and all evidence to date suggests the obvious, I think it's safe to assume that GR 3 will be far more akin to GR 2 than GR. Unless Grin takes the game in a different direction, it will just be another action game, totally linear and limited and fully scripted like COD or FTF, with no replayability and no mod support or interest. It seems like a lot of people do not want a GR style game anyway and would rather have a loud action game. Games like that are interesting for about 10 minutes and soon return to the shelf, a game like GR may not be as user
