  1. The 50% sale does not seem to include ArmA?

It does, look at the sprocket link (the second one) ArmA Gold for £ 8.54

But why would you want to buy ArmA now? :tumbleweed: It was never properly optimised and the Devs have long since moved on to better things

A2: Op Arrowhead is where the party is at nowadays

But if you really want to look backwards..... you should Skip ArmA and go straight to old school ....Operation Flashpoint ;)

  2. It's a paid download only DLC for Operation Arrowhead.

*just like the 1st DLC British Armed Forces (BAF)

**See the other DLC threads in this forum for more details.

To use the DLC's you must have either:

Just Operation Arrowhead (which can be standalone) installed on it's own.

or Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead both installed together as a combined game (which is known as Arma 2: Combined Operations).

  3. Prague, Czech Republic 25th November -

Bohemia Interactive, the award winning Czech independent development studio, is pleased to announce the release of the launch trailer for Arma 2: Private Military Company. This brand new add-on enlarges the enormous Armaversum with a new faction: contractors. The PC exclusive release is scheduled on 30th November 2010.

Bohemia’s CEO, Marek Spanel, comments: “This new trailer shows our focus on a more story and character-driven narrative for the Arma 2: PMC campaign. Our cast includes characters from various nations, which the voice acting represents; creating a very interesting blend of accents. By watching the trailer players will get a good taste of the intense atmosphere in this latest add-on.”

  6. some interesting comments by Cevat Yerli boss of Crytek

As long as the current console generation exists and as long as we keep pushing the PC as well, the more difficult it will be to really get the benefit of both

PC is easily a generation ahead right now. With 360 and PS3, we believe the quality of the games beyond Crysis 2 and other CryEngine developments will be pretty much limited to what their creative expressions is, what the content is. You won't be able to squeeze more juice from these rocks.

I generally think it's still developers' mentality, A lot nowadays don't consider PC a big issue any more, their expectations are nowhere near what they are for the console versions. Until the PC market creates comparable revenues, companies are not going to spend enough on the PC SKU of a game.

  8. As you are no doubt already aware if you follow it, it is just not sufficiently advanced enough yet (and is unlikely to be for some considerable time) for us to even consider setting up a specific sub-forum for it.

When and if it ever progresses to the point where it is actually considered a viable releasable game we will Of course consider creating a sub-forum for it based on the level of discussion and interest from our forum membership.

Currently the majority of discussion is and will continue to be over at the BlackFoot Studio forums, with any newsworthy events/advances reported as new threads or continuing posts here.

  9. EuroGamer have posted a Hands-On article

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-11-23-operation-flashpoint-red-river-hands-on

From this tiny glimpse, then, Red River's shaping up to be a brilliant game: a shooter which balances rewarding gunplay with a tactical thoughtfulness that simply wouldn't be possible with much in the way of obvious scripting. Authentic? I have no idea. Convincing? Absolutely.

The first gameplay video for Operation Flashpoint: Red River, the all-new chapter in the multi-million selling tactical shooter series, set to launch in Q2 2011.

As the back-story to the conflict unfolds, US Marines are shown protecting convoys, sweeping through urban areas and engaging enemy forces. When guns are drawn, pins are pulled and talking stops, Tajikistan becomes a bloody battlefield carved up by insurgents fighting guerrilla war from the shadows and the conventional might of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA).

  14. a new version of Logitech's SetPoint software for mice & keyboards has been released - Version 6.20

    http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/584/3131?section=downloads&bit=&osid=14

    Software:

    # Title: SetPoint 6.20

    # Software Version: 6.20.64

    # Post Date: 11/17/2010

    # Platform: Windows

    # File Size: Approximately 25 Mb

    What's New

IMPORTANT: Before installing this software, please review the notes below.

    1. Close all open applications and documents before installing this software.

    2. If you have an older version of SetPoint installed on your system, it will be removed while installing this version of SetPoint and your system will reboot during the installation process.

    3. Settings from previous versions of SetPoint 4.x will not be preserved when you upgrade SetPoint. Settings from SetPoint 5.x will be preserved.

    4. If you don't see a picture of the device you are configuring in this latest version of SetPoint, check to see that you are connected to the internet. The device image should download automatically in the background.

    5. If your mouse or keyboard is connected to the PS/2 port and you want it to be recognized by SetPoint, you will need to activate the PS/2 driver. To do this, open SetPoint, select the Tools tab, and click the "Install PS/2 Driver" button. If the button is grayed out, it means a PS/2 driver is already installed.

Changes from earlier versions of SetPoint:

    * The download size has been reduced by approximately 60%. This has been achieved by streamlining the code and removing device pictures from the download package. SetPoint will automatically download pictures in the background for devices that are connected to your system.

    * This version of SetPoint includes the control panels for standard mice and keyboards (previously supported in SetPoint 4.x) and gaming mice (previously supported in SetPoint 5.x). This reduces duplication of system components, resulting in a smaller overall installation size.

    * The SetPoint control panel for standard mice and keyboards has been updated with a new appearance.

    * Numerous bug fixes and stability enhancements have been made in this version of SetPoint

  18. bigdownload: Ghost Recon Future Soldier won't make first quarter 2011 release date

Ghost Recon Future Soldier, the upcoming and latest game in Ubisoft's tactical shooter series, was first announced for a fall 2010 release and then pushed back to a first quarter 2011 timeline. Now Ubisoft's latest financial press release have announced that the game won't make that release date after all.

Instead Ubisoft has decided to move Ghost Recon Future Soldier to sometime in the publisher's 2012 fiscal year which in calendar year times starts on April 1, 2011 and ends on March 31, 2012. There's no word on why the game has been delayed yet again but at least the first quarter is a bit less crowded now.

IGN: Ghost Recon, Driver Delayed Again

Ubisoft has again delayed the release of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier for Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 and Driver: San Francisco to the publisher's 2011 fiscal year, which begins this coming April.

Both titles were previously scheduled to ship in the fourth quarter of Ubisoft's 2010 fiscal year, between January and March of next year.

No reason for the delays was provided.

joystiq: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Driver: San Francisco delayed

Ubisoft's latest earnings release brings news of delays for both Driver: San Francisco and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier and Driver: San Francisco, which were previously planned for release in the fourth fiscal quarter, will now be included in the 2011-12 line-up," the report notes. Ubisoft's fourth fiscal quarter runs from January through the end of March 2011, putting the releases of both games somewhere in April 2011 or later.

Both Driver and Ghost Recon had already been delayed into the previous "early 2011" timeframe, making this the second announced delay for both titles. At this rate, Ubisoft is going to have to change Ghost Recon's title to "Ghost Recon: Soldier."

gamespot: Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Driver: San Francisco delayed

To finish off the disappointing news from Ubisoft, the publisher also had two game delays to announce. Both once slated to arrive during the first three-months of 2011, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier and Driver: San Francisco have been pushed out of Ubisoft's in-progress fiscal year. The publisher now expects to release both games during its next fiscal year, which runs April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is being delayed until our next fiscal year. We are working to make the game the best it possibly can be, and we’re taking this extra time to do just that. You haven’t heard much from us lately because we’ve been hard at work improving the game, and we’ll share new details with you soon. The GRFS beta is still in the plan, and it will be happening closer to the new release date.
