  1. GGZ Sart, Ranger, Zebb & T_1 , TX's for playing Some fun missions there (and some not so).
  2. Please only post constructive comments about missions in this forum, We dont want to see any "it was crap" "it sucked" single line type posts please as that doesn't help anybody (and I'll be coming for ya with a big stick ) Instead post WHY you didn't like it and what (in your opinion) things could have been done to make it better/different, that is more likely to get the scripter thinking and they may take your comment onboard for the next version/mission. But remember the bottom line: The author took the time to make it and they did it how they wanted if you dont like it, then
  3. I kept getting terrible "jerking/stuttering" in the game every 10-20 seconds and after 5-10 minutes (usually when I exited a vehicle or building or turned around fast) it would completely freeze the PC so I could only press the reset button to reboot it. I tried all the usual stuff; lowering the resolution, changing the distance, lowering the textures to lowest setting but nothing seemed to have any affect . then I came across a post that mentioned the "core update" so I tracked it down and loaded it and voilà ! it cured all my problems VBS1 now runs fantastic on maximum setting
  4. The official updated Core Module is separate to the game engine (v1.99) and all VBS1 user must ensure they have got the latest version to minimise problems running VBS1: The current version is: 1.081 (9 Oct 04)
  5. Ghost Recon has it's own FORUM for it [.....and thread moved there]
  6. They only have to ask, infact, because Pave is now getting to VBS1, he could even set it all up. Hehe, great minds think alike I'm already in the process of drafting out a couple of ideas so stay tuned, both here and at Tactical-Elite.net
  7. My copy dropped into my mailbox the day before yesterday (Big thank you to Gordo for all his help ) So far I have only managed to get time to install it and have a very quick 10 minute run around but the weekend is almost upon us and I’m planning to spend a lot of time in “VBS1 land” this weekend Sartillies received his copy yesterday and I believe T_1 has also got his too, So were just waiting for 2nd Ranger to receive his and ”the gangs all here”
  8. Happy birthday 2nd Ranger Hope you're having great day mate Yeah, be good to see you join Sart, T_1 and me in the next level and for that price it's a steal
  9. Yeah, as you know the whole reason I upgraded the PSU was because I was upgrading my graphics card to a BFG NVIDIA 6800 Ultra OC which recommends a beefy PSU with two separate power rails. and I did a lot of reading up recommend PSU's and scoured countless forums for views and comments before selecting the ANTEC 480w NEOPOWER *which has a unique cable management system, instead of a fixed loom the Neopower uses a "clip in" system so you only connect the number and type of connectors you need instead of a ton of connectors you dont need and run out of the ones you do. It seemed a great su
  10. Hi guys I'm back online as those of you who were playing last night may have noticed I disappeared mid game just as we were getting into a great firefight (hope you guys made out OK) Well, my PC suddenly turned off on me - the monitor and desk light was on so I knew it wasn't a powercut - so I checked the usual stuff fuses and wall sockets Etc, but to no avail the PC wouldn't power up at all. Given it was 6am, I had to called it quits and leave it till after I'd grabbed some sleep. So first thing, I went through all the tests and it turned out my new 5 week old power supply had di
  11. Nae rush, we'll be playing for a good few hours (I dont fall asleep on my keyboard until about 3am )
  12. The snowballs are recoded smoke grenades, they dont cause damage but should still be fun to use
  13. So there we were last night, stuck on guard duty at this checkpoint South-East of Montignac... *following an incident with a Humvee and some (a lot) alcohol - which I wont go into here - suffice to say the result was a happy group of soldiers and a totalled Humvee anyway, there we were freezing our bits off when 2nd Ranger started to recant the story of his snowman... Well, that was enough to get me and Sart thinking about building one right there and then But wouldn't you know it, no sooner had we started than a bunch of Russian troops, BMP's, more Troops, a Tank, a Hind and some more t
  14. Welcome to the forums They are called Mods (short for Modification) and it depends on which one you have downloaded, usually once the mod is actived you should be able to see the new skins in the character selection screen, some of the bigger mods (like BJB's) have a utility you need to run first where you pick the nationalities you want to be able to choose from What is the name of the mod you have downloaded and then we can give you the specifics for that one
  15. I have fixed the Typo in the thread title
  16. Yeah, the Loading screens are a pain - too frequent and too long, reminds me of games I used to play many years ago when you had to wait for the next map to load off the cassette tape. Nope, more of the same, you're given a path/route to follow through the game with no wandering off. and you can usually tell what foe you're about to face as you will "come across" a stock of ammo for the particular weapon used to fight it, eg find a stash of Rockets and you'll soon be battling Striders or Gunships.
  17. Hmmm.. not sure why that was, the member hosting rooms are normally set to 30 slots per room as default. I just checked and all the others were on 30 and #9 was set to 15, I have upped #9 to the normal 30 slots Just let me know if you need any "sub-net" channels setting up for when operating as a spit team eg 2 or more teams on separate objectives, or a couple of channel(s) for inter-vehicle crew talk (Driver/gunner/commander Etc) and I'll sort it out
  18. No problems at all here either Went like a dream, just stuck the DVD in the drive let it whir away. Clicked where necessary and entered the code and other information when prompted Even on Broadband it took a while to install and decrypt but the wait was well worth it
