  1. This can be answered by considering the answer to this question: Is a Grief-Free Environment Possible? Short answer: Nope.
  2. “Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe.” - Albert Einstein
  3. Yep, Xfire and GameRanger are your best options.
  4. Another alternative for online multiplayer is GameRanger. Worth a try.
  5. Just a little heads up. I tried to convert this monster mod for Mac without success so far. Many assets like e.g. 'dummy' actors and vehicles used for certain props appear to be completely incompatible with the Mac version of GR. I'll try working around this but haven't had much luck so far. Such a pity, as P2 is such an amazing mod!
  6. Sounds good. As a courtesy to the original creators of the mods you plan to include in your campaign you probably want to try to get their individual permissions before starting the mod. I know this can be time consuming and very difficult - especially after this many years - but you should at least give it a try, as some people may react rather sensible to their work showing up under someone else's banner. Don't be scared, though. Most of the modders still available for contacting are very nice people and you probably won't have any problems with them. Good luck.
  7. Thanks a lot, Variable. Have to try this one.
  8. Congrats! Sounds promising, but download linky no worky.
  9. Wow, looks like we have another huge GR modding milestone on the horizon! Can't wait for this monster!
  10. This sounds like the mission files have become too big for Igor to handle. The limit for the script part is somewhere around 110 KB IIRC, add to that a large map setup and Igor will just crash. That's why I keep separate .mis files without script and .gtf files containing the corresponding script for all maps/missions.
  11. Thanks a lot, xxxToasTy. Yes, there is an add-on mod called 'Heroes Unleashed - ARCADE' in the 'X-tras' folder of the mod which - among other things - enables the default/standard reticles. Once more I am sorry for my sporadic visits here - ongoing time constraints. But much of the little spare time I have is spent on building the next version of Heroes Unleashed. I don't want to spoil any surprises so I won't go into details, but the next installment will be a huge update - probably the largest so far.
  12. If there's nobody playing on GameRanger at the moment you can try Xfire. Clients for Mac are available here and here.
  13. Glad someone noticed. It's actually two textures - one for the combo with GL (iw_combo_oicw.rsb) and another one without GL (iw_nongl_oicw.rsb). For them to work you'll also need the altered model files (iw_combo_oicw.qob, iw_oicw.qob), IIRC.
  14. It's been a while and there is no news on the Future-Soldier-for-PC front. From what we've seen so far and in view of the recent RSE staff decimation I think it is fair to say that: • There probably won't be a PC version • Even if there would be a PC release, it would have nothing in common with Ghost Recon • Ubisoft is either unwilling or unable to create a worthy Ghost Recon successor Where does this leave us, the hardcore Ghost Recon fans and PC gamers? Some claim that OFP:DR or ARMA2:OA could be the answer if modded in the right way, but I have serious doubts about that. Let's p
  15. So you can not switch to windowed mode or you can but it has no effect?
  16. As FileFront keeps arbitrarily erasing files, I have given up on mirroring my files there. Here are new (and hopefully more reliable) download links: Ghost Recon 1.0.1 Update for Mac Ghost Recon 1.0.2 Update for Mac Ghost Recon (English) 1.0.3/1.4 Update for Mac Ghost Recon (French) 1.0.3/1.4 Update for Mac Ghost Recon (German) 1.0.3/1.4 Update for Mac

  19. OK, I could not reproduce that sound issue with v1.1 - tried changing the room properties as suggested but no change. SCAR sounds OK on single shot and full-auto and my copy of the mod did not have any errors in the effects.xml, either. Can anyone confirm that the v1.2 patch only addresses sound issues? Giampi seemed to hint at other bug fixes in his post... Drives me nuts not to have saved that patch anywhere!
  20. Can you switch the game to windowed mode by editing the options.xml file?
  21. Hmm, strange indeed... does the game actually write a changed resolution to the options.xml file? Let's say you manually edit the file to 1024x768, save, launch the game application, and start a mission - does it then write 640x480 to the file? Or does it just ignore the file completely?
  22. If you have the Gold Edition it should also contain the Island Thunder expansion. Installing it should patch the game to 1.4 IIRC.
  23. Have you actually started a mission after changing the resolution? As mentioned above, the pre-mission menu screens always stay at 640x480 pixels independent from the chosen in-game resolution.
  24. Thanks Wombat, I'll look into that.
  25. Hmm... pity. I just PM'ed Giampi about it, hopefully he's still got this on his HD.
