It looks very similar to that, yes. Tom, you may want to try that link and see what GRAW2 maps it has. I'm still looking for the program I mentioned though. I've got some of my "feelers" out, LOL! Rahn

Hmmm, I remember downloading a program but I forgot what it is called ........ something "tactix" which actually had ghost recon maps which showed the whole layout of the various "stock" tdm maps. It also had some maps that I had never seen before. I'll try to remember what that was....... You can also just create your own server and load the tdm map on it. Make sure to password protect it. Then you can run around to your heart's delight and devise all kinds of strategies. When you create the server, make sure the tdm settings you pick allow you to stay in the map by yourself. Many

Lol, spy on me all you want! Then you can watch me shoot all those hackers in the back, where they are vulnerable! What's your in game call sign? HI Sidd! Good to see you in the forums. In game, about all I see of you is the end of your barrel Rahn

Hey John, I have played through the easy/short version once and have started the hard/long a few times but have yet to complete it. There are two things I've noticed so far. I went down the initial street and turned left towards the "explosives" objective (I think that's right, lol). On the first alley on the left (Destroyed car, 3 red barrels next to each other) there is a two man patrol spawn point. The second AI spawns inside the wall and then walks through it. Lol, I shot the first guy and, not seeing anyone else I turned around only to get shot in the back a second later by the w

To be honest with you, I have never really tried to fix my ping so I don't know how to help you with that. I do know that it is a connection speed problem. You may want to try to get a faster service with more bandwidth. I use DSL but a cable connection would be even better. I'm sure that your modem is an important part of the equation. But these solutions can be expensive when you are trying to justify the expense just to play a game. The best thing to do is look for servers that you have a low ping on and play on those. On the game spy screen which lists all the available servers, your

Hmm, normally you will just be kicked from a server and they will tell you why it is being done before they do it. Usually you will be kicked because your ping is too high. If you have a ping of say 300+ then your presence in the server will cause lag for all the other players. When you are on gamespy and choose a server, make sure that your ping is below 200. If it is more than that you risk being kicked and will experience lag in your gameplay. One thing you can do is to log into gamespy under a different name. Choose a different callsign and use the same password you had for your or

The M99 is sniper kit #3. Underneath the pictures of the different types of Ghosts/Rebels there are left/right arrows that you can click on to cycle through the weapon kits. There are only 3 sniper kits. I believe there are 12 rifleman kits, 6 demolitions kits and so on. Yeah it's scary that people can be that accurate so far away but it can be done with practice (and help from a real fast gaming system/computer). Real good equipment gives you a HUGE advantage. As far as the multiple hits are concerned it is probably lag on the server. You hit them more than enough times to kill th

Well, I can't help you with the gaming mouse. I don't use macro's at all and I'm not sure they will help you. There is one trick that I know of that you can do. If you are running and don't have your gun up you can right click (zoom) anyway and when you stop running and your gun comes up it will be zoomed in automatically. I use shortcut keys to change weapons. Turning around and aiming are done with the mouse. I doubt you can assign a macro to help you aim. Even if it were possible it would probably be considered cheating. As far as the climbing rocks and mountains are concerned, Ev

Hi Bob, I was able to complete the mission without any crashes or problems. I noticed that you placed a few more AI in the mission. I counted 75 kills by the end. In my opinion you probably need to double that amount to make this a mission that a squad could play. I think that an excellent place to put more AI would be at the end after you have completed the Ontivaros objective and are trying to leave his palace. By that time he has called in reinforcements and they are converging on his palace ........ and so on. You could also have some more random patrols in the streets and make t

[which weapon mod(s) to play with ?]
rahnman replied to Jamie79's topic in GR:AW 2 (PC) - General Discussion
I normally just rename the local folder to something similar like "Local_1". That way you don't have to move anything around and nothing gets lost. When you want to play the mod just name it back to "local" and you're good to go. Rahn -
I know for me it took a lot of time to relax w/o getting nervous. When you get nervous it is difficult to draw a bead on people because your mouse hand shakes the sights around. Over time you will relax and be able to keep on target. After a while you can try for headshots. This is a game of skill and it takes a while to get good at it. You will start to improve when you can relax and stay calm. The camera that they are holding up is actually what it looks like when they are about to throw a grenade. Rahn

No, there is no kit with a sniper rifle and a G36. However, it is likely that he picked the Assault 1 kit to begin with and then picked up a sniper rifle laying on the ground sometime after he spawned. That would give him everything that you mentioned. That is completely legal. Taking a shot with the M99 and then ducking behind a fence to reload is typical of the type of tactics you would have to employ with the M99. You get one shot and then have to reload. All 3 of the sniper weapons are slow zooming in. You will always have 2 weapons when you spawn in, a primary and a secondary. The

I don't know anything about macro's. But I do know that you can assign the different buttons on your mouse to do different things. I use the buttons on the side for grenade and smoke grenade. It is very helpful to not have to use the "f" key and mouse wheel to select these items. You just hit the button and you have what you need. It definitely gives an advantage. Rahn

Hey John, I tried out Manosos and had no issues to report. Every objective went off without a hitch. Very nicely done! Can't wait until the next one. Oh yeah, and no mysterious friends taking out my enemies for me. I still don't know what that was all about. I let my health get real low and couldn't reproduce it. So I still don't know what causes it. Oh well ........ Cheers, Rahn

Most guns have recoil associated with them. Another great thing about the iron sight MRC is that it has very little recoil, allowing you to score multiple hits rather quickly. The gun is a little underpowered compared to other weapons. It usually takes 3 shots (sometimes 4) to kill. But is it not extremely underpowered as I have found that most other guns can take 3 shots also. The Scar-H, M14 and MSG90 take 2 and the M99 takes 1. So the MRC is the gun to start with. Oh, ANY weapon will kill in one shot if you hit them in the head. As far as being able to see lots of enemy on deathcam

Well, I have a Lachesis Razor. It goes all the way up the 4,000 dpi (a standard mouse is set at about 400). I bought without really knowing what I needed so I wound up getting way more than I needed. I typically keep it set at about 1500 dpi. (I think dpi is the correct term, but maybe not). Any more than that and the fast movement on the screen makes me sick. It is NOT a wireless mouse, which I think is best. The gun kit that almost everyone uses is "Assault 1" which has the iron sight MRC, the G36 compact secondary, a grenade and a smoke grenade. It's the best gun for TDM style pla

Yeah, you can change your speed of movement by changing files and overriding the bundle files through the local file. I sometimes use this when testing out new coop missions for John. It makes it real easy to skirt by AI and get to any trouble spots on the map. Doing this will not get past the games' anti-cheat, however. All the good TDM servers have the anti-cheat turned to keep this type of cheating from occurring. There are ways to get past the anti-cheat (obviously), but this method is not one of them. Honestly, I don't really know how hackers get past the anti-cheat. I've never tri

Yeah, the hard drive was my guess. I had a similar situation with one of my other computers. It took FOREVER for the thing to boot up and then it wouldn't complete the process at all. Changing out the HD did the trick. Rahn

Your nemesis probably had a gaming mouse. With these you can adjust the sensitivity of the mouse so that a slight movement will move the screen drastically. You can easily do a full 360 with very little movement. There is nothing illegal about having good equipment. If you suspect that someone is cheating then there are other things that you can do. One of the best things is to watch them on "deathcam". If they are glitching or have a speed hack/aimbot then you will probably be able to tell. Wall hacks are pretty difficult to spot even on deathcam. To get on deathcam you will usuall

Spik@, Glad to hear it! You will not need the coop_ranks.xml unless you decide to add more kits. Yes there are people out there who still make missions. JohnTC02 is the most active and is an administrator on this site. Artillery is controlled by the mission script and is not under the control of the player ........ too bad ...... would be cool. You can call in an artillery strike in campaign mode. It would be great to be able to do that in coop but that would be a question for John. If you can't see the weapon in another players hands then it sounds like you have a problem with

Try using the unbundler from the GRAW2 wiki. It's always worked for me. Brettzie is right, the coop_templates xml from the patch contains 6 support kits and 14 assault kits (they added some shotgun kits). PM me your email address and I will send you a copy. Rahn

The ping tells you how good your connection is to the server. If you have a high ping (anything over 200) you will probably experience some lag in game play because of the bad connection speed. If a person has a "0" ping it means that they are hosting the server and their connection speed is essentially 0 or "instant". They will have a huge advantage in speed. I usually look for servers which I can have a low ping on (150 or lower). Your quality of game play will be much better. It is also a good idea to set your graphics card settings and in game graphics settings pretty low. That wil

Do you mean the color of the weapons themselves or the color of the holographic weaponsight? It is possible to do both. In order to change the color of the weapons you have have the ability to create new "skins" for them using the correct software. Changing the reticle color of the holographic weapon sight is very easy. If you want to create weapons then you will need 3dsmax7. Later versions are not compatible with the game. If you find a cheap copy somewhere let me know. Rahn
