  1. as many may have noticed, a lot of gr.net "regulars" have found happiness in modding/playing other games, or are just "moving on." i would like to ask these people, no matter how small a contribution they made, to still continue to post and help the new breed of up-and-comming modders here at gr.net. although RL and other commitments have a BIG impact on the daily running of people's lives, this forum would not be complete without some kind of input from the "die-hards." a lot of people have met life long friends here, i for one, and it would be a shame to miss the opportunity to make some mor

  5. ok, this is all i can say. i had it running on a far lesser machine at atleast 15-20 frames. try an auto detect, go to the options once you load it and push the frame lever all the way to the right. then put the quality or whats it called about half way. terrain tex on normal to low,and leave view about 600. (view seems to be the killer) see how that goes and work up from there. you may need a 600x800x32 res to get good frames, but start from here and work up. i had a 566 cpu with 192 ram and a gf2 card, so you should do far better than that. sometimes, only sometimes dropping to 1024 textures
  6. for the whippersnapper of tonight/today's game. good onya mate 10/10 from me. and we all know who i'm talkin' about cheers......dekela
  7. try what para said. OFP seems to be backwards to most games in that the higher textures and such are set, the smoother it runs. use auto detect and leave it. then try uping the framerate setting in the options menu, more pop ups but better fps. cheers......

  14. it used to run on my old rig wich was a 566 p3 with 192m ram and a gf2 card, with low quality mind you, on both sp and mp. runs better on my nwe rig, 3.0ghz p4 with 512m ram and radeon 9600xt, with all settings max and 2000m view so stewy, yeah, should be fine on your's cheers......

  17. gordo and para seem to have wrapped things up pretty well i think. to try and compare GR and VBS1 is like chalk and cheese. nearly every factor from movement and contact to ballistics and realistic wound damage has been moddeled into the core product with no extra modding needed. yes maps are a lot larger, sometimes inserts can take several minutes compared to seconds in GR. and as stated earlier, contacts tend to be over greater distance and of longer duration. i have been pinned down by enemy fire for up to half an hour at times. and there are no super AI one shot kills either. although a go

  23. here's some pics from saturday night's game's. here is a shot of me looking for a group of spetsnaz. gordo is of to my right out of view nailing a sniper. this is gordo with an SVD that was kindly donated by the OPFOR sniper he just shot. here is the aftermath of our first contact for the mission, many dead badies. gordo seen here giving these spetsnaz the "dont argue" treatment. poor ######'s never knew what hit them. our poor LRPV driver after being WIA seen here from an earlier mission we have a shot here of an RPG hit to a T72, and the ceramonial blowing up of the UAZ her
  24. umm...i would say no. you need a boot disc in order to start the installation of windows. maybe wait till someone more experienced answers cheers...... BTW, is it a pre-built system. if it is normally they have a rescue disc with them
  25. the way i do it is this: insert win start up disk to floopy drive( 95,98) load drivers for cd support type fdixk at command prompt delete all partitons make a new primary dos partition make it active at command prompt, type c:format /s (where c is your hd) insert xp disc and run setup prog. (may need to set bios to boot from cd instead of floppy) sometime a message say's that blah drive is fat32, what do you wish to do select reformatt as ntfs then you should be good to go hope this helps, i can do it, but putting into words is another thing cheers...... REMEMBER...DOING THI
