"I like the ZEUS. Its not that fast. I think its difficult sometimes to destroy a chopper, but its possible. So plz add the ZEUS again."
Hay.....what can I say? In real life, a rocket is a lot faster than a chopper. That all I'm asking for.
P.S. How can I pull a quote from another post and get it to look like the way you guys post?

I saw a couple of interesting comments on the Ubi Blames Market page. 2 agree that that Ubi makes mediocre games and while not said, is the reason for a decline in sales. I have to agree.

Happy birthday KRP.

The question is how much more do profits have to drop in order for Ubi to get wise?
Well, they are showing promising signs that they have finally taken some lessons from companies like Blizzard and Valve that it is better to make a good quality game with sales staying power in the long run rather than try to rake in 1-2 months of higher sales by releasing a unfinished game before Christmas which ends up in the bargain bin after a few months.
Check out the CEO's comments in the conference call:
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/27/ubisofts...d-steel-delays/
Guillemot admitted that, for "those two products, it's around a million units" of lost sales in the first month. However, when faced with releasing subpar titles or losing a stronger opening month, Guillemot came down strongly in favor of the latter. "We really think with the level of quality that we'll be able to obtain with the time we give them we will have a long shelf life for those products," he explained. "Now, because [Conviction and Red Steel 2] are launching during that quarter, they will not do as many units for the first month as they would have done in November/December, but we think that on the long-term they can achieve more units than what they would've done."Now whether or not Ubi learns to support their games with patches etc. in the long run is a different story ...
Also check out this report that shows Ubi's PC sales are higher than either PS3 or Xbox 360's
http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=90991
Sales breakdown by platform
DS - 26%
PC - 20%
PSP - 4%
PS2 - 1%
PS3 - 13%
Xbox 360 - 16%
Wii - 20%
Haven't I been saying this for several years now? It does not take a rocket scientist to know that gamers want a polished game with substantial features. Having a polished game with the features gamers want will pretty much guarentee that a company can make more money over the long run than if they just shovel games out the door for the quick buck.
I too wonder if this extends to proper support after release. It's one thing to release a fully featured and polished game, but if there are game stopping bugs that are not fixed, game sales will still suffer as gamers will let others know not to buy it. I still do not believe that Ubi has learned it's lesson (one just has to read through the Ubi forums to see that they still do not support games very well) on the support front. Maybe once they lose more profits due to lack of game sales will they awaken and do more, but right now, I doubt it.
I could have told you that Ubi's PC games sales were stronger, especially when looking over here and the Ubi forums, that the PC games are what keep people interested and what is more ironic is that they are not average gamer fare, they are flight sims for 2 of them with one FPS that is also rather aged (GR is what I am referring to though it does share a console brother). People are still buying iL2 Sturmovik and Lock On: Modern Air Combat. That should tell Ubi something. Also, with there being 5 consoles to share the sales wealth, it would make sense that PC sales outpace console sales.

Z, tell Dannik I am thinking of him and glad he is doing better.

This may very well be a good thing for GR4. Maybe it is Ubi trying to show us that they are interested in releasing a game with fewer bugs and more polish than previously released games, at least going back several years.
It may be wishful thinking on my part and trust me, the cynical part of me doesn't think Ubi can pull it off due to past preformance, but once ConViction is released, we may have a barometer to judge from. Far Cry 2 wasn't the baromenter needed to judge how well Ubi has responded to fans by far so until SCC is released, we wil not know. Believe me, I still do not think Ubi can pull it off and hope profits fall even more honestly. Maybe then, they will rethink their strategy for franchises that once had people interested in what they were.

I think there are 2 forces at play with such a drastic drop in profits. With the economy the way it is, gamers are less likely to buy games when they could or should be putting food on the table or even paying for gas. The other is that word has gone around that Ubi is not supporting the games it releases and does not care if games are fixed and gamers are not buying them for that reason.
The question is how much more do profits have to drop in order for Ubi to get wise?
Just my 2 cents.

Why im a NOT surprised ?

You took the words right out of my mouth.

Here is an idea of what I am currently working on. This piece is 600 tons and about 213 feet long and 22 feet across.

I had to give a hint for anyone to figure it out. That is amazing.

No, I am not in England, but as WD guessed, across the Channel somewhere nearby in Europe (a pic gives it away honestly).

Czechoslovakia is land locked so that can be ruled out there WD.
Here is another hint for ya, Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Turbine Project.

Are you at the german games confernece where RSE might show GR4???
Hmmmmmmmmm.
I might have to run over that way while I am in the neighborhood. I wonder if I can make the trip in 2 days?
I do not think it will be shown at GC 09 though, but I have been known to be wrong.

No, I am not on vacation.

Man, this is really weird. I usually am 5-6 hours behind Rocky timewise and now ahead of him by an hour. Surfing the forums when he is awake is strange (and I am not talking about me working nights in the States). I still haven't got used to it.
If you do not know what I am on about, these may help. Yes, those are German WWII pillboxes in the field above the hotel.

Happy birthday to my brother, Spooky63. I wonder how jealous he is with me being overseas right now (I heard he is unhappy that he can't come over here and his wife is German).

I saw the blurb about this on the BBC, but missed the story. If they live a healthy life, why not.

I'm in The Netherlands and I am getting the same page Zjj is.

The newer versions of NIS have been tremendously streamlined and even include a monitor of how much CPU power it is using. Pretty neat really.

Yesterday as I was on my way back to my apartment from work and was approaching the turn lane for the road I live off of I noticed a car in the turn lane headed towards me with tire smoke pouring from it. There was a bumper stuck under the left front tire that was turned in a good 75 degrees. It turns out the car was stolen and the driver was running, but there were no cops chasing it at the time. When I pulled up to the stop bar, I could see where the thief had hit 2 cars that wanted to go straight through on South Cobb Drive. The irony is that there was a cop with a broken down car and another that pulled over to check on the 2 cars that the driver hit. The one cop said that he couldn't chase him. I say BS as the broken down car was mostly up on the sidewalk and out of the way.
Cobb Co. Police Chase Ends in Crash details some of what happened a couple of miles from where I live.
