What do you need to change in ghost_templates to change the heads?

I changed it to <head_unit name="merc_head_01"/> after putting the xml and the diesel into the objects folder, but this has no effect.

Penguin General has a black vest and helmet skin. The base colour is easy as hell, but more than that, while it can be done, isn't nearly as easy. Theres two texture files, one for the base camo, and one for the rest.

Just a thought, if you replace the desert MARPAT in that with my 3 colour (see earlier in thread), you would have somthing fairly close to delta, as seen in the movie Black Hawk Down.

Has anyone done skinning in GIMP? Ive used it to open the .dds files, but they look like they are transparent layers?

I feel your pain, being a BF2 junkie. PB finds modified content that I never knew existed , resulting in about a million re-installs.

[Weapon skinning issue]

I've been skinning characters for a while now, but I decided to try my hand at weapons. The problem is that when I create a skin, it comes out chrome (huge novelty value, but hardly cool. ), but you can still faintly see the texture underneath.

What am I doing wrong?

You cant find the "lib" folder because its a part of the "quick" bundle (C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2\Bundles\quick.bundle). I would suggest you do a reinstall. I don't know where the savegames are, so I cant tell you how to back them up, I'm sorry.

Reinstalling is fun, it really is!

How I did it was I downloaded a .dds converter, and I edit them as .jpg. The only thing is that you need to remember to keep the dimensions a power of two (e.g 1024 x 1024). Then convert them back to .dds
