  1. and THAT is my concern. An example of a product that should NOT be the same bar the resolution. How are you supposed to feel if you are the PC user in above example. ie - you are running a P4 3.2, with ATI 9800xt/256 and 1Gb 3200 RAM....yet your end result looks exactly the same as a sub £170 peice of hardware that cost the same as your grax card alone - and they are the same!!! I'll tell you - pretyy pivved off!! THAT IS MY CONCERN BEAUTIFULLY ILLUSTRATED. I don't want the same as XBOX - I don't even want close to XBOX. I want another goddam game as far as I am concerned.
  2. coolio ma man. coolio. You have been there for many hours and got ya mits dirty so to speak - so for now - I trust your reports. Let's just say I am prepared to be disappointed, but will perhaps be a little more optimistic that the game will indeed be worth the purchase - if you suggest that is the case. Let's all wait and see....Xmas is a long way away....in terms of 'days at the office'....so I'll be happy to forget about it and see what those RSE peeps throw under the tree in December.
  3. A well rounded overview from a man who was there Anubis - good show. However I'm still fearful - though I was one of the few who have felt more than a little cynical since back when the news broke that the XBOX release would precede the PC by some time. Anyway...just one wee point: Come on Anubis....you know what's wrong with that statement. A game is designed and scaled based on the projected platforms specification and performance abilities. Just because it is coded on a PC doesnt mean that there is automatically a 'version' that you can punt out that is up to the highest
  4. in a very 'troublemaking' mood arent we KP??
  5. ...cuddling wee Magnum for all to see... EDIT: that £50 is in the post Pyro...keep up the good character building work at the usual rate, we'll have me in the candidacy for senate in no time at all....
  6. Whichever way GR2 goes - the community here and all those responsible for maintaining it's upkeep and well-running - ie the names above - Rocky, WK and even NYR himself - will continue to flourish under other guises....perhaps underlining the foresight shown by Rocky in the launch of the [TE] brand at www.tactical-elite.net The point is - GR was the magnet for a great bunch of ppl coming together - many of whom had gravitated towards this point thru other RSE games...but that community is now strong enough to fracture it's reliance on anything to do with RSE. We all have plenty to work o
  7. I think those words sum up the core of what many old guard fans must feel, here at GR.net - and well put they are too NYR. I think all we have now, as PC gamers, at least until some concrete info is published, is to just wait and hope. On a strictly personal viewpoint (and it is my 9-5 business head that speaks here) I really don't think the final product on PC will quite hit the mark of our high expectations or demands. That is not to say that it won't be a leap forward from GR - which is good enough - but sadly, I think it will be stunted by a lack of specific development for the PC versi
  8. In a word...yes. I am looking to start an online record label and my measily 55Mb of webspace is inadequate even for my own lousy catalogue of mp3. Keep me posted. EDIT>>> Sorry - is this for games stuff only?? Just re-read.
  9. Heh cheers Pyro... I work on the basis that a monkey with a typewriter can knock out Shakespeare - given enough time and paper.... ...by posting incessantly I figured one day, I'd make one that made sense and someone agreed with. Looks like the monkey just finished "The Merchant of Venice" Throw me a banana someone!
  10. Boz now deeply UNimpressed.
  11. OK - I didnt want this thread moving too far away from the subject matter in hand - but you know how it goes...everything is relevant in context...however: I would add to your sentiment WK by pointing out something of a recent event that won't be all that significant to US (or non UK for that matter) but last night Peirs Morgan was sacked from Trinity Media plc... This guy (Peirs Morgan) was the editor of the DAILY MIRROR - a typically Tory paper here in the UK. They have consistently attacked the Blair administration over the past 4 or 5 years - especially in the light of the last 18mth
  12. That's fantastic. The joys of the electric netterweb indeed! Some mad asian forum suer nicking your sig - for what reason?? superb stuff. Take it as a compliment Rocky - and he is now just acting as a marketing agent for both GRnet and AGR-s!!! Without paying him...ye cant get that kind of advertsising in Japan for nowt you know!!!!

    OK

Gottya. So...all that remains is granting me ADMIN status. I gots me some Sart to 'edit'.

OK. Here's how Ive ALWAYS quoted: I click reply..then if I need to quote someone I actually scroll down (to previous posts in reverse order) and copy/paste the text I need quoted - and paste it between Quote tags - which come up when you click QUOTE in the actual reply box - up top along with the font buttons, etc... Hence the usual "QUOTE" only from me - without any info on who or when. Oh and: (see - like that!!) the question is easy -
  15. That's interesting to hear you say that WK. Not least because I fully agree with you! Perhaps you have always held those views...but I have certainly noticed a few people (of good standing I might add) here at GRnet slightly change (read: evolve!) their overall views or politic on certain issues over the past 12-18 mths. Im not saying you necessarily have by the way! Just that your post reminded me of a few instances recently where Ive had to double take at what I was reading as I found a lot more liberal writing being attributed to ppl I wouldnt have expected it from - certainly not thi

    OK

Please promote me Rocky. I will be good...I promise. Can you possibly do it tonite? ADMIN would be fine. Thanks.
  17. Syncopator

    OK

Ahhh....yes. Now I see how it works.
  18. Just be sure to take that camera of yours... and check the babe.
  19. Rocky doesn't exist anyway. "he" is just an offshore account for a group of Columbian drug lords....they will of course send you a small sample as a token of your investment in this illicit trade. CIA are currently tracking the activities of "The South American Secret Order of the Flying Squirrel" so make sure you protect your identity and only send unmarked, used notes.. jus kiddin....*of course* (spot the bored man at work on a friday afternoon)
  20. Syncopator

    OK

    Ahah! Nice one Doctor F.
  21. Syncopator

    OK

OK - I am an idiot. I think. For many years I have been posting on IPB boards - yet one thing has always had me...and Ive just never bothered asking to the point I stopped noticing. Now I want to know. WHEN I QUOTE SOMEONE....HOW DO YOU GET THE TEXT THAT SAYS "Quote: "name" @ "time/date" "?? I see it on everyone's quote...but never have it come up with my posts. I am aware that this thread will make me look like the biggest numbskull ever...but could someone enlighten me?? Surely you dont type that stuff in manually...I presume I use the Quote tabs wrongly. Put me out of
  22. Of course WK. I would have deleted my own thread here immediately had that happened, without hesitation - hence keeping close eye on it. I trust nobody here at GRNET lacks scruples the extent that this would be required. Yes. That is a statement worth noting.
