  1. While I wasn't around, I've seen the SST bugs, and they look really good

How are they done? Some strange skeleton position ('off' the model, persay) or a loop animation (I guess it can be made to loop while they move), or something else?

It was done with Mike Shell's tagging tool. back then we did not have bones in 3dmax to play around with and to import characters. The way the tool worked was to put a color gradient over a mesh assigning different colors for different parts of a body.

So with an animal (4 or more legs) you tagged the front left leg as a left leg and the 2nd left leg as a right leg the 3rd as a left and so on ... opposite for the right side.

Same worked with arms. However I left arms out of the SST mod since the bug didn't hold a visible gun. The gun he got in igor was similar to the shotgun mod we made earlyer --> very high dmg and very short range and no muzzle flash :)

  2. Harntrox and myself played around with dogs in GR.

Some maybe remeber the Starship troopers bugs we made years ago. It would be possible to get a dog into the game.

This was before IT and the modding tools which came with them. IT tools would probably not support the movements. If some1 is really really interested I can go into details how to get a dog in GR

  3. HX5 was all original content.

Don;t blame Ruin, when the mod came out he was starting his modding career with the sheep mod (or something like this)

In fact is HX5 somewhat the sequel to Black Sun (Hence HX5 - Red Sun) It was developed during my stay in Harntrox's house ( Great time m8 .. i still miss the 6$ burger dearly!!!!)

So be assured in HX5 is only original content or content which was used with WRITTEN permission.

DA in the contrary with his mod (i forgot the name) and Gunslinger mods just compiled without any permissions which actually made a couple of ppl quit this whole modding thing.

I hope i could shed some light on this misunderstanding.

    Cheers

  4. Who are you? :P

Hi Ravenmouth! What mod project you going to work on next? :hehe:

Well it is top secret ...

I'm not sure but i was playing with the idea of Domino and have it played in something like Las Vegas .. a lot of indoor fighting and maybe some outdoor .. just need to get the moonlight going again .. i got a bit rusty ..

Most probably it is going to be a private mod though ..

Any inputs are greatly appriciated though ..

  5. i dunno? how many patches did it take for [GR]?
i think there where alltogther 4 patches ( including DS and IT )

What i think which will make this game have a short life is the missing of a modding function so far.

We live today in the MMORG time , so ppl are used to see new content fast. Every game which can not feed this hunger for new things will soon be shelfed. You play through it then maybe change the setting from medium to hard play through it and then ? Do it a 3rd time ?

GR was a very good game when it came out .. today it is avarage but still played due to mods and the ability to create a new world for the user when ever the user got bored.

  6. graw content is located in a .rra file in the X:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter\Bundles directory folder , and the most official file extension referenceing library (www.filext.com) has no documentation on it ...

so it will be initially up to the programmers to create a tool to extract/decompile/recompile the data from that package

some one grab a showel and dig out Mike Shell...

  7. hmm I'd really like to see a copy of this conversation .. and after all i was not speaking of my slef in first place .. We had a lot of DA conversations on this site for years and i think all ppl who got a little deeper involved in GR and it's mods know what happened by now and by judging the responses DA got on boards ( not only this one ) it is pretty clear that I'm not that wrong on my statements written above and in the past.

Concerning Gunslingers .. this happened before DA was released and even before the =DRAG= mod was released wghich content got stolen. So how coudl i pay back anything to the gunslinger team as you wrote in your reply ? Didn't DA steal from Gunslinger and then found out that it was =DRAG= content after all ..

to long ago to bother still about soem stupid rooks ...

    Anyways back to topic ....

Did any1 yet have a closer look into the file system of GRAW ?
