[Medics]

What is the position on Medics in todays militaries / conflicts. In WW2 I know there were conventions regarding weapon use by medical staff (unarmed IIRC) and engaging medics (don't). There was the particular helmet variations and armbands etc used. That's not to say that conventions were always honoured but they did exist.

[FAL or G3?]

Of the FN FAL and HK G3, which is the best for use in a desert environment? How about in Jungles?

I am trying out a few mod ideas in my head and this is one of the things I am not sure of.

[Combat Shotguns]

Does anyone have any information on the use of combat shotguns within the military (any nation)? I have been experimenting with adding a shotgun (either the Mossberg 590, Winchester 1300 or Franchi Spas 12) to my team and have found it to be very effective in GR. This is using "correct" ballistics as opposed to the huge projectile spreads I have seen in some mods. This makes them 1 shot lethal up to about 25 yards but still effective (followups needed) beyond 60. Body armour obviously makes a big difference with regards to fatalities but you wound easily enough.

Within GR the average engagement range seems to be under 100m (more in DS) and the missions themselves tend towards MOUT/CQB engagements. This makes the shotgun seem to be a viable piece of kit. Probably far more so than the sniper rifles.

[French Foreign Legion Equipment]

Does anyone know the standard equipment for an infantry detachment of the FFL? There is obviously the FAMAS (which version?) and I know they also use the FRF2 sniper rifle. I have seen comments that suggest they were reviewing one of the L96 variants and perhaps the M24. I haven't seen anything about what LMG they use though.
