I mean Kumar War is soley based on events in Iraq which is stepping over the mark of "future / fictional wars". Suprised that hasnt been pulled?
My point is - Ok N.Korea threw a wobbler about GR2 (location and "fictional storyline") ... fair enough Jongy - shut it (although entitlted to wobbler).
But ...
Are we actualy saying that we are turning a blind eye to such games as Kuma War - which is blatant in content and theme of actual very fresh events? Double standards I think. - 9/11 theme - oooh no,no tsk tsk ... Kuma War - ah well its out now ennit ??!

Ok, Ok ..... no more "attacks" (cough, excuse the pun). Im sorry for any direct insulting. I seem to have mixed personal views into a simple forum regarding a game, how that happened I do not know - (maybe the political side to the actual thread itself - cough).
I think mainly it was by typing ... damn keyboards they let you do anything.
I do think this has been a decent thread though.

You expect the same ... what about if "they" are wronged (and you think your right) - they feel insulted (and you think your right) - they fight back (you think thats wrong becuase your right - because you wont be wronged) ... you obviously dont expect the same from them - right?

I just think that the moment you enter the military (mainly these days sleeper - iraq etc - post 9/11 ###### wars etc) ...
You then become cannon fodder for the fools in power who will never see a firefight in there lives. I respect tho who are in the services but its "currently" its a mess.
I guess I may have digressed ... but it certainly makes for a good thread though.

I want you to pay close attention to the political party that is pushing that sort of agenda in America. Both of those bills are being introduced and pushed by the democratic party. Keep that in mind this November at the voting booth.
Funny how this works out. Personally Ive always thought everyone should serve some time in the armed services. When you look at how crazy young people are nowadays, it can only do them good, Oso, I think you might agree that in some way your military service changed your life somehow for the better.
And here I thought maybe this would somehow sway me away from the Democratic candidate side. Its all good though, I dont vote and wont until I see something worth voting for and not just the lesser of two evils.
Yeh but thats what "they" want .. "i got nuffin better to do so I best be told" then go out like a brain dead ###### and slaughter innocent people.
Then come back shell shocked and ruined saying "its realy taught me a lesson" .. what? Never to shoot some family to pieces because they drove toward me?

what i realy like about this thread is that its vast views & good read ... needs more of this elswhere.
As said - a games a game but when your young its most things, pretty much desensitising you to whats happening today so you can then say "yay our boys are doing good, support the troops" .. even though they are being used to slaughter the ###### out of innocent iraqis "im just carrying out orders" - fair enough ..... yeh right.
Im nearly 30 and can tell the difference between "reality" etc as been quoted in some posts - but stupid dumb ###### teens cant ... realy, especialy these days .. infact deffinately these days!
Its simple .. support us and or joins us .... if you dont your against us ... etc etc.
Tell you what im not american but would ######ing hate to be a teenager in america now in this day & age - scary ######.

PPS - anyone considered that N.Korea couldnt give a ###### and would probably not take on any army in combat and just let of a nuke or 3? This is more likely.

Plain & simple - dont ###### with N Korea.
Maybe they should have had GR2 in the future in space ... keep it neutral.
So ... say a leaked game came from Korea - made in the north a simple game of war that was placed in america / south america where you play Koreans & shoot american soldiers .. are you trying to say you would think .. "hey those ragdoll effects are cool" .... or would you some how throw a fit .. how dare they do this!! etc. - think about that one.
Flip the tables and work out how you would react. Always easier in the playgrounds at school when your friends with the bullys ..... oooooh flame ahoy!
Nobody say anything silly like "North Korea dont make games" - its an example. More than likely there version wouldnt have ragdoll effects, it would look maily like "Horace goes skiing" for zx81 / spectrum.

I had a trojan infect a dll for Teamspeak 2 .... only had a message from norton 2 days its been installed for over 9 months!!
"C:\Program Files\teamspeak2_RC2\KeyPress.dll
is infected with the PWS.Hooker.Trojan virus."
Mofugga! I could only uninstall TS2 and then scan after as it was locked to fix or delete from hdisk.

Ima security freak with firewall notron updated .. adware deletion cookie blocking and so it goes on .... then this came from someplace. Hmmm ... not saying its direct related but maybe keypress dll can get infected over servers on TS? Im no scare monger so dont flame me, TS rules but this put a few quesions in my head.

True - but I seem to be realising of late that tactics is what I love whether or not FPS. GR1 is good enough for that, but for something new Im into it.

After reading this fo rpc & having the promo xbox world promo dvd and seeing a walkthrough, this is in the bag for me.
I think this might actualy be my GR2.
Im wondering though if its very scripted IE - capture the town you played it seen it done it - just repeat, which I guess is obvious but Random mission generator would be good. Anyone know of thats being implemented or atleast what other game modes it has apart from online & SP Campaign?
I think Im on about basicly Single Player scenarios being randomly generated rather that repeating campaign over & over.
PS - has snake been licking the back of frogs lately? He seems a bit mental -

Anywho ... apart from that and some very cheesy gung-ho credits and over glorifying music .... this as what it is - "a game" will be very very cool indeed.

Is it 6.1 because it has an installer? Or is it 6.1 as it has modifications/fixes plus the installer??

This map needs some ambient sounds like wolves & maybe newer wind fx, then again maybe the stock ones will doo ... but it looks creapy so ambient creapyness would be great .... though sadly im not the man for the job (in which case this post of mine is rendered unhelpfull
) .... anywho, looking like a good map. Love them hills & dips ... many maps dont pull that off too well and is good for hiding tangos & more suspense .. all good.

I got feedback from ED support (for anyone else who is interested) :
"To get it lower you will need to use power strip, read and do the info below
The desktop resolution and bit depth should match the games. When you have verified that it's the same, just set your desktop refresh rate down to 60 hz or lower. Our driver doubles refresh rate and some monitor's have a hard time handling it.
If you are still having problems there are 2 things to do. One is to wait until our new drivers are out that will automate refresh rate. They will be out by the end of August.
The other thing to do is go to www.google.com and find the program powerstrip. Install this and in the display setting change the advanced timing options to 50hz. The 50hz setting is going to be for the Vertical refresh rate which is the one on the bottom half of that screen. Save it for that resolution (desktop resolution) then start the game and make sure it's in the same resolution as well as bit depth (16 bit or 32 bit). By matching that you can take advantage of the correct refresh. If not it will not get the correct refresh. If you set the refresh to 50hz, you will notice a shaking of the monitor, this is how you know you are in a low refresh rate setting. If you don't notice the same flicking or shaking in the game then your resolution or bit depth is probably not matching the desktop's where you have set the 50hz rate."
So will play about with this little lot of info now.

Just got 9800pro and all is great. I did have nvidia ti4200 which used to work fine with 3d stereo drivers & 3d glasses. I see that its a different ball game with ATI.
I have the ATI 3d driver from Edimentions on cd (v3.0) I run it and I understand you press f5 to activate, problem is that the minimal refresh rate in the setting of the 3d glasses driver is minimum 95khz ... my monitor is 85hz max ... so when I switch on my monitor blanks and is out of range, even if i set it to software preffered setting ..... ummm ... what do I do to get it working?
I run at 1280x1024 res by the way. which was fine with Nvidia 3d stereo.
Anyone with this combo lend a hand?
Oh - I sorted out refresh rate fix for resolutions less that 1280x1024 so things like raven shield (stupid bloody 640x480 startup menu res) .. is ok now and fixed to 85hz.

Yes indeed.
Infact its majorly important mod wise to now have the expansions as most are based on all of them in one way or another. Plus the fact that all expansions rule anywho.
You can get the gold pack (all gr + expansions) for a silly low price now, but depends on where you are ... anyone chip in on decent links for that ..

Yeh I guess its a mod combo freaky moment. I doubt you have done much or could do much to fix that .. could spend all day working around other peoples mod combos!
I have played the 4 missions, just thought Id have another blast and it was night ....

Downloaded 1.1 but now mission 1 is a night mission? Wasnt before and all my mods were switched on the same for both installes of 1.0 and 1.1 ..... is that a fix? I cannot see the negociation with sniper as its rather dark.

Admit the fact that ALL our fears of rumours have come true (since the "gr2 where?" thread was started many many moons ago) - its on xbox, built for consoles, arcady, logo looks crap, you play 1 character, 3rd view (although it has 1st but 3rd is touted the most from demos & devs) ... cover looks super crap & logo.
I mean be realy honest if ghost recon 1 never came out (empty your brain of anything you ever knew about gr1) - so gr2 was released which in this example would be gr1 - knowing that it was xboxed up and seeing "that" cover on shelves ... Im sorry but over half of pure tactical types who got GR1 would never have touched it with ######ty stick, and thus most likely the "Ghost Recon" game in itself wouldnt have been such a hit as it was with gr1.
It it shaping up to be cack, and Ive passed the "hope" factor .. I aint getting it. Well I might "try before you wont but anyway" kind of attack ... (cough).
