always glad to hear about new maps
also glad to hear about your health, take your time, and don't get burnt out.

not is simply the inverse of the statement, the inverse of x flag is true = x flag is false.
These operators can all be used in conjuction, for instance,
any trigger-
response-
redirect if -
'not' the inverse of x flag is true -
'and' demo charge placed in location x -
'or' y flag is true -
'and' demo charge placed at location x.
I hope that makes sense to you.

even though you got it figured para, another good troubleshooting tip is to remove all cards and devices that aren't needed to run windoze, then you can add them one by one, in case one of them is the culprit.

I would delete the modsset.txt file from the GR directory all together. The system will write a new one on startup. You may want delete the unlockedmissions.xml file as well. You will loose your progress, but also any references to the FB mod.
If you are having problems with MP, you need to delete the default.but and default.ass files that are located in the data folder of the GR directory. They refer to the last knows setup of the server, and if they refer to a mod that is no longer active, they will cause a CTD.

This may sound stupid, but before you get too far gone, with sending stuff back, or breaking it, check all of your connections. The beeping often means simply an incorrect connection. Double and triple check all of your IDE and FDD cables to ensure the red stripe is on pin 1, if this is not correct, you will never get past go. Also, did you format and re-install windows? If not, that may be your problem, the OS doesn't seem to like it when it finds all new hardware in the place of the old, I know because I tried that too. I am just guessing because your description didn't say anything about the re-install. I know how frustrating it is bro, especially when you have been waiting, and have spent a bunch of money, hang in there, I'm sure you will figure it out on a freshly rested brain.

Ah, I will adjust those values, thanks for the shout Jack.
I do have thier spotting distance adjusted to 20 meters beyond the default for each map, because it seems that on most maps, the human eye can actually see a bit further than that. (tested with binos) However, I did notice that on some of the foggy maps, the problem you described would occur. Considering the many shortcomings of the AI, I have really tried to make this challenging, without being impossible. I will re-check all the spotting distances against the far distances and original spotting distances, to try and make it a bit more fair. Thank you very much for your interest, and compliment.

use the group enable response.

You must have more than one company in your mission for that to happen. The AI will assume that any actor who is not a member of their company is a threat. You should create seperate platoons for your troops, and have those platoons in the same company, unless of course you want them to kill each other.

The true power of IGOR comes from the combination of all of the elements available. By using flags, in conjuction with counters, continue ifs, and redirect ifs, one can script just about anything imaginable. By using the and, or & not operators, you can create extremely complex if/then statements, ones that depend on many different things to activate a certain response. It seems to me that any time I have thought something was impossible, it could be figured out by simply reworking the script.

NP, I help when I can, we all started somewhere, even though some people act like they were born all knowing.......
I would suggest a program like Sound Forge or Wavelab, they will give you the kind of accurate numbers you need. Those are both higher end programs, so they might not be readily available to you. You may try to find a demo version that will work for a short time, just long enough for you to get the numbers you need.

That last one just goes to show, peepl who cheat think they are entitled. Like they deserve to be exempt for w/e reasons. They are obviously mentally inferior and should be hunted down, and removed from the gene pool.

Vehicles are not like the regular AI, they are part of the company, not the fireteam. They behave differently, as well do thier plans. This is a bit off topic however, tanks will attack friendly soldier if they are encountered, much like AI tangos, however, they will not deviate from thier assigned path.

uh, actually, the .sht file is generated by IGOR when a new map is opened there for the first time to create a mission. It is the file that declares the boundaries, and which creates the blue, do-not-cross lines in the top view window of IGOR. If I'm not mistaken, it is also the file that dictates how the AI will interact with the map, as far as where they will traverse. It is generated at the time of the mission template creation, and really won't be recreated unless it is deleted, and the map is opened again in IGOR.

What do they need to be? AIFF? Just let me know what format, and I could do that for ya.

now that is freeking awesome!

The sound file is sometimes a bit of a pain. It's been some time, but one of the first mods I did was a complete replacement of the Russian voices in GR. This was before DS or IT, and I never released it, it was just for fun and for my lil lan group. Anyway, it can be tricky, and sometimes you need to take note of the values and then manually add them to file. Make sure the file is not set to archive, so that you can actually make changes. Once the sound file is properly added to the sounds.xml, you will see it appear in the sounds list in IGOR. Sorry it's just been way too long and I can't even remember any specifics.
*IIRC, IGOR has trouble with longer files, so you may need to open the file in an editor to get the exact length to add to the sounds.xml, I think that was a problem I had too.

can u feel the love?

Sorry for all the confusion, I guess I thought it was all pretty self-explanitory.
The Bot Hunt mod is for GR/DS/IT. The Bot Hunt WSV mod is for use with the WSV mod. Basically, if I put the missions all together in one mod, and someone doesn't have WSV, they select the mission for WSV, and they CTD. Therefore, There is one mod for the GR missions and the expansions that go with it(GR/DS/IT). For any other fan created expansions(WSV, Frostbite, ect), I will release a seperate mod to be used in conjunction with that particular mod. You can use the But Hunt mod, and the Bot Hunt WSV mod at the same time, as long as you have the actual WSV mod activated. Sorry for the confusion, as I said, I just thought it was all self-explanitory. Any other questions should be posted here and I will answer them as soon as possible. Don't forget map requests.

Well, it would much easier to simply copy the three mission files for BotHuntWSV into the WSV mission folder, copy the enemy_bot.atr file to the WSV actor folder, and copy the bot.kit file to the WSV equip folder, if that is what you are determined to do. The problems can occur when you try to play these mods online w/ others and your files/mods don't match up. In the end, it is far easier to simply activate both mods if you wish to play on that map.
I mean, it wouldn't make much sense for me to copy all of the maps from the origimiss, mp1, & mp2 folders into the BotHunt folder just so you can play on them, would it? No, instead, simply activate those mods, as well as the BotHunt mod, and all will function properly. The same will go for WSV, or any other fan created mods which I add this script to.

The only problem with that Snake, is that you may still miss some files that may be in the textures folder, possibly sound effects that are used, ect. There are really many things that could cause the game to crash, and the simplest way is to just use the original WSV mod, and then add the BotHuntWSV mod as well. That way, no crashes. Thanks for your interest.
-
Perhaps you are confused Silent Op. The BotHuntWSV mod is made to be used in CONJUCTION with the WSV mod, not in lue of it. In other words, you will need to activate the WSV mod, and then the BotHuntWSV mod, in order for it to work. I didn't want to add the maps to the mod, because 1) I didn't make them 2) It would make the mod much larger file size.

It wont crash, and I can't see how it will hurt to crank em up, definately can't hurt.

In the recon section of this fine site, you will find numerous tutorials on how to mod this game. I'm afraid you will have a hard time finding a tutor, as it seems you may be seeking. The tutorials however can provide you with everything you need to know. Here is a link, look about halfway down the page.
