After I wrote that post I was playing around on my practice mission, and checked with my binocs and came to the same conclusion.
Here's a suggestion though, if someone wanted to do this I'm sure the whole community would appreciate it. What about an upright target QOB? You could make it a fixed gun? Then place it anywhere on any map.

ronin, just a suggestion, but the training map has a target range on it. I'm not sure of the target distances, but I've gone in and rescripted the training mission to allow me to operate that map as a practice range. i.e. reset targets by triggering zone(I made it small and by the wall so I wouldn't accidentally trigger it), minus all the instructions and kit changes. I don't know if the reset map object response removes bullet holes though. Just a thought. X

Exactly RUIN,
killactor is fine for creating a corpse, but not for interacting. You cannot teleport or hide a dead actor, except as a platoon, as well if dead bodies are off the player wouldn't even be able to interact with it. For all intents and purposes, a QOB would be best, I just don't have access to 3dsm or anything, somebody wanna throw me a bone?(or a sack of bones more specifically) a generic rifleman will do.

I'm working on a mission and I have reached a dead end.
I don't want to go into detail, but I cannot teleport a corpse, so I need a corpse model. If anyone knows of anything like this out there, or is willing to work on it, PLz let me know. Or, if you got some info on movin dead guys, that will work too. -

OK. I just think it is a little trickier with the TI, kind of general, rather than pinpointing the location of the target. If you wanna play it without the TI, give yourself an extra point.
Besides, the target is the only actor tracked on TI, so it's kinda like having it off, and there's no way to turn it on. Once you assassinate the target, no TI.
But, I will take your suggestion into consideration Pave.

Cool Dudez,I'm glad the mission doesn't suk! The "radar"=TI, I will revise. I usually do the briefing last. Good points Jack, all the more reason to keep your head down
. I will say that I have recieved the highest rating on this mission, and that's not cheating, *Hold your Fire* because almost all of the characters are on random paths in order to increase playability. I hate it when they are always in the same place
. Keep the suggestions coming, I will be sure to take them all into consideration. I am going to add more ratings options, I believe there are only 5 now. Cheers all

I'm sure I know nothing of what it would take, but I was thinking how cool it would be if you could script a character to use the OICW to lean out instead of his whole body. That's the premise behind the OICW anyway, y not use it. Just an idea for some of you geniuses out there who could actually do it.

Does it not work or is it not fast enough? It is as Jack said, it's only gonna be as fast as 1 second, unless you miss the begining of the second then it might be 1.87sec or sumthing. It's not instant. Good call on the <block remove> Jack

I find the player controlled platoon works best in this scenario when this script is used
player ref as before of course
Set PlayersPlatoon to (the Player controlled Platoon)but instead of using proximity as a trigger use <time elapsed>
then
<block preserve>
<continue if><proximity>
this works like a charm
it basically repeats the proximty query at the selected time interval
<time elapsed>

you got me, but I will say to be carefull installing mods. some of them can mess up your origimiss files, if you install them into the wrong place.

I sometimes use a
<time elapsed> trigger and then a
<block preserve> and then
<continue if><platoon proximity>
this works well, if it is the desired effect.

16 player server is up at 130.13.97.177:6969. We will be running DS/IT.The server will be up 24/7, well, it is running windows so........
But, we will try to keep it up as much as possible.
