  1. Cool, I didn't notice those selections in the no_restrictions.kil file. Ruin, I haven't made a .kil file by hand since they upgraded IGOR. The kit restriction editor works great for me too. I have made lots of .kils with it, and they have all showed up in MP. Just click, creat new, name it where it says, "uninitialised" and start adding kits.
  2. I sometimes get CTD when scrolling through names in the info window, not on your server though. Sorry that's not much help.
  3. Thanks sleeper, that's what I wanted to hear. I plan to do the drawings in photoshop, and provide both top and side views, only about 4 maps and they will be medium sized. I will keep scale in mind. Thanks.
  4. Check the recon section of this fine website for some cool tools and tuts. As far as the objective goes, objectives are setup under the script tab in IGOR. They default to incomplete. There is a responce in the script to mark an objective as complete. You just set the trigger to <death actor>, the guy to be killed, and the responce to <mark objective complete>. Done. I recommend you read through some of the scripting tuts to help you learn the different triggers and responces. GL
  5. Yes, you are right. I will go now, and leave such complex matters to the pros. Format your hard drive DP, and if that doesn't work, bury a paper bag with some chicken bones and a hundred dollars in it under your house. If you were to read more carefully, you would see that I really never meant that it was the isp, only if certain things were true, but your need to be correct pushes you to continue to argue, rather than yield to another's approach. @Deadpreacher, can you be more specific about when the drop happens? Is when the script begins to load? or when you exit the setup screen after sel
  6. right, and they told him it may have something to do with the packet level data transfers, or loss thereof. If they are having problems with data loss on thier lines, it could be the problem(TBH I doubt it). I don't know about how GR deals with data packets, or if they vary through the different game types. My money is on some modded files.
  7. First off, only missions that are scripted as such are available to coop play. These missions, as well as game type files, can reside on the server machine exclusively if they do not contain/refer to certain files, grafix, guns, sounds, ect. If he is crashing when selecting this feature, it must be because of files on the server being added/altered. Secondly, Deadpreacher has stated that he has had to reboot his cable modem to reconnect to the internet. Is this correct DP? Have you done a ping test to ensure that your connection is down? If that is the case, it's not the puter.
  8. corrosion of conformity - america's volume dealer but i listen to alot of old skoo funk on mp3
  9. Thanks San, I will be trying to recruit a map maker soon, I just want to be able to say," here are the ideas for a few maps, to give you a head start." So that the map guy won't have to create them completely from scratch. I just don't want to step on thier toes either, that is the point of my questioning. Will it help or hurt to have basic/advanced drawings of the map layout.
  10. I don't think there is anything to do this. I haven't tried to figure it out. I would actually think that the soldier selection for ai backup may be hard coded. I have never seen any mention of it in any of the scripts, however, I have never looked for it either. Good question though, perhaps I will assist you on your quest.
  11. I know this isn't the easiest solution, or maybe it is, but I'd be lookin for a new ISP, I tell ya that much. If the game isn't crashing, only the internet, or the modem, I'd be lookin for something a little better/different. Still doesn't make alot of sence though. I don't know a lot about packet level data transfer, but I can't see how Coop would be more taxing than teams, or solo. From a script point of view, it's easier because you are only dealing with one platoon. It's pretty much, single player with other players, not all those loops to process. Are you running any mods? Have you modded
  12. Thnx Six but I am refering only to the map makers, I'm not soliciting to recruit a map maker, just asking thier opinion on having a basic idea already made.
  13. Since I can't post a poll, I'm gonna just start a thread. My question is, as a map maker, would it be benificial to have a drawing, in some detail, of the map concept before starting a project? For instance, I have a mod idea, I also have ideas for a few little maps, would it be easier for a map maker if I had detailed drawaings of the maps in 2D? I would just like to do whatever I can to make the whole process go more smoothly. Thanks.
  14. Happy B-Day Zantar!!! One more year till you're legal!!!
  15. RGR that sleeper, I think it's the essence of GR. By having the ai to control, you take away the "run n gun" aspect of the game, not that I don't like that a little now and then, and focus more on the tactics/control aspects. It's more like a chess game, in that the commanders are in charge of the whole squad completely. PM or icq me anytime for a match
  16. That's a good question, I don't know of a command to make the ai place a claymore. The advanced scripting tut explains the effects available, and thier modifiers. It's prolly the best explanation you will find.
  17. Are the same weapons available in MP that are available in SP? Also, you can scroll through the weapons for each class going one way, then the other, to eliminate kit numbers as the "guilty" kit/kits, if that indeed is the problem. GL
  18. What that is most likely, is that you have a kit loaded(ie from the WoW2 mod) that cannot find the reference it is looking for in the strings.txt file. There are other things besides just guns in the strings file. If you look you will see hand held items. This could be where your problem lies. Also, it could be a missing .gun file or .itm file. What I suggest is that you compare the contents of the original mod folders to the content of your moved files new home(ie origimiss(which BTW I think is a really bad idea)). By comparing the contents, you should be able to find the culpret. If you cut
  19. No, ai back is available for all game types, except solo, I believe. The thing is, you have to have respawns turned off for the option to be available. When the respawns are turned off, go to the first tab, gameplay I think, and you should be able to check the box for ai backup. You can have up to four teams, but you can't specify the number of players you will get. The roster will be filled by a rifleman(M16/203), a demo(m4/AT4), and support(Mgun) LOL, in any spaces that are open, nine to a team. I recommend one team for each human player, if you can 2x2 coop is fun. It's like 18x18 with onl
  20. COl. Sry I missed ur reply, what I was suggesting, create a new mission for each map. Import your script to each mission. For your vehicle, use refs only. Once you have the script imported, you can place vehicles, and set the ref variable to the placed vehicle name. That way, you only have to write the script once, then fine tune it for each map. You would end up with a mission for each map, it would still be server sided. A mission can run exactly as a gtf, only it is attached to a map/env. You should be able to add any elements to the script that allow your stats to work. As far as the z
  21. EXCELENT! I want to try this GTF when you are done Sausage. I think that is sooooooooooooo weak, usually spammers w/ OICW/GL who blow themselves up as many times as they get a kill. It will be funny to see a big 0 for thier score!
  22. LOL, mod will be available soon.....thanks to Cobaka.......
  23. you should be able to cut and paste the Mp1 and Mp2 files to your GR mod folder. If you still have problems, you may need to reinstall the IT expansion. When you reinstall, just browse for your GR folder, instead of letting it go to default C:/programs/red storm entertainment/blabla, then you should have no trouble.
