  2. Origin helper points. I searched and found out they need to be named "O", my question is, are they numbered after the first one, or are they all numbered "O"? I have eight wheels, plus a body, i need one origin for each wheel, one for the body, and one for the whole group at Max's origin, right? Thnx. X

  4. Sweet, thanks El Oso. edit: K, that helped but, there are a few floor planes, 2 actually, that when an actor is close to the outside edge, he flickers. ? Also, I have my light set to cast shadows, but does that mean they will get darker when they go behind an object, say, a pillar? I'm gonna go find some lighting tuts. Thnx.

  6. I'm robbin this train! Q: I have a sun. It's the only light. It is set to cast shadows. My map actually looks right. The problem is, the actors are like glowing, fully lit. Is that because I only made one room or lighting? edit, the map is kinda dark, like valley.

  8. I just started with this thing, but if you position your view where you want the sun to be, and look towards where you want it aimed, won't it go there when you double click?

  10. I found another wierd thing where I named a floor polly starting with the letter "p", and it thought it was a portal. I guess you can't do that. I'm learning, thanks for all your help. I'm off to learn how to skin now.
  11. I think you have to have at least one collidable wall. I added some, and it works now.
  12. Sweet! I deleted the .sht file for the first map I was working on, and it loaded in IGOR. There are some problems, but it exported at least.
  13. Yes, (-buildbinary), and thank you, cause I didn't delete the old .sht file. But, the map with only a plane should have worked, huh?
  14. Ok, so I've been studying, and I am learning some stuff. I am having some trouble with my map exporting though. The map exports fine, I have fixed any errors that it gave me. But when I try to open it IGOR, it CTD. I went back, and created a map with a single plane and tagged it as a floor, named _1 and still had the same result. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I made my scene center, I made shermanlevelheight. I thought maybe it was the portals and stuff I had on my other map, but I can't even get a freekin plane to work. Any suggestions?

  16. AUTOSAVE!!!!!! I have lost three hours work, the last two nights consecutively. Tonight, autosave. Screw that. Although, it does give me a second chance to try to improve what I did, but sheesh.
  17. If you create new sound files you have to reconcile the sounds.xml file for whatever sound you are replacing, ie. voices, effects, ect. Once this is done, they will show up the list. Do a search in these forum and I am sure you will find one of the multiple detailed explanations on how to do this. GL

  22. So would you use a box? and just make it thin? So then you can detach one of the polys and texture both side different? or am I completely wrong?
  23. Actually, I was trying to figure out what to use to create for GR. I was pretty uncertain about how to go about it. After looking at the castle map that was included, I thought perhaps that was what I was looking at(wireframe). I couldn't figure out how in the hell I was gonna texture it that's kinda why I stopped working on it for a while. I was reading and following along with Mike's tut about the boolean ops. I think I am beginning to see the light. Riddle me this, Normals. They are the side of the plane that is visible? Can both sides be visible? Thanks.
