  1. GRAW2_PowerMOD – The First Easy to Use On-line Multiplayer Weapon Performance Mod For GRAW2!!! w00t

Get the download and details at http://www.dbclan.info

Can't figure out why the weapons don't kill the way the used to in GRAW1? I found out why... GRIN reduced the damage model and increased the recoil!!!

Don't believe me... I've got the numbers to prove it in black & white, and I got them out of the unbundled weapon description files from both GRAW1 & GRAW2.

Get the stats comparison chart at http://www.dbclan.info/PowerMOD_specs.htm

Looks like most people seem to find something lacking... NOTICE ALL THE EMPTY SERVERS ?!?!

Now the truth is that I'm not that much of a talented modder, but when a game comes out that I really want to love, and has the deficiency of underpowered, uncontrollable weapons (compared to their real-life counterparts) the way GRAW2 did... I had to take action and figure out a way to bring order to injustice.

In my opinion, the reason GRIN "dumbed-down" the weapons was to compensate for the lack of sophisticated AI which would have been much more difficult to rectify. What you end up with for Multiplayer however is just another Counter-Strike clone... No Headshot... No KILL!

Ultimately, I would imagine that they also satisfied the Whiners who prefer to "run and gun" and then complain after they get shot while "jogging" across the map... Pathetic!

Guess what folks...? Nobody is gonna take more than 2 shots without going down... NOBODY! Yeah, you could claim the "body armor" argument, but if you got shot in the armor in real life... you'd be stunned or neutralized temporarily from the impact shock. And an arm or leg shot would take you out of the fight right away.

So the GRAW series is really all us combat buffs have and we'll have to deal with its inadequacies. But at least we don't have to deal with "Nerfed" weapons any longer...

Basically, I’ve restored the weapon power, spread and recoil to their GRAW1 equivalents minus a little recoil while in full auto. You’ll be surprised to see that the machine guns now actually kill. Additionally, damage is based on caliber or the weapon as it was in GRAW 1.

    For Example:

    .556 is “2â€

    .308 is “3â€

    MRC caseless is “1.75â€

    .45 pistol is “1.5â€

    9mm pistol is “1â€

Exceptions to the 9mm are the MP5 variants which I tweaked to compensate for ammo variants. MP5A4s usually fire ++P rounds so I gave them a “1.5â€. The SD usually fires subsonic, but I didn’t want to make it too weenie for a secondary weapon so I left it pretty much the same way it is in GRAW2 + .1 damage.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to figure how to alter the character damage hit zones… if that’s possible.

I envision PowerMOD as a work to be improved upon and tweaked with input from the community. You all have the real numbers now! Look at them analytically and intelligently and if someone can present an argument to alter them, and we as a group come to a consensus... e-mail me, start a thread, whatever… and we as a community can improve upon the mod to arrive at our final vision of realistically balanced GRAW2 weapons. Notice in the Title: "ver1"?

I want PowerMOD to be the de-facto standard for On-Line Competition... so help me help all of us. Additionally, maybe we can eventually add the custom weapons the more talented in our community are developing.

BTW... Single player will become much more challenging with "PowerMOD" activated because the aimbot AI players will be hitting you with more lethal weaponry as well.

    Happy Fragging... and don't be a ######!
