A few days ago AUS_Viper contacted me with an offer for a commission job on his mod. Although I'm officially teamed up with Black Sabbath, i gladely accepted as AUD is one of my favorite mods.
Here are some renders of one of the weapons I'm doing for an upgrade of AUD mod; Indonesian SS1-V1 (copy of FNC PARA)

Didn't realise we are talking about cold weapons, too...I have 2 or 3 survival knives (Rambo-style looking mothers), my boken (wooden katana, for Aikido training) also a Bo (wooden staff, also used in Aikido), and off course my Katana

To be honnest, I haven't checked if there is such topic alreaddy, but just in case there isn't; what kind of weapon do you own, what would you like to own, what's your opinion on ideal weapon for home defence, what kind of weapon have you expirience with so far....
I own HS 2000 9mm, IMHO an exelent piece of hardware..it's light, accurate, reliable, looks great, any accessories are easy to install (laser marker, optical sights), plus it has all the extra features (white flourescent dots on sights for easier aiming in both day and night conditions, cocked/chamberd indicator, multiple safety devices (trigger safety, grip safety, the manual safety), 15 rds clip....it also comes in 40SW, 10mm AUTO and '357 calliber. When I was buying mine, I was actually offered 40SW version (more like being suaded fo an hour to go for 40SW)..but I went for 9mm. The ammo is cheaper and easier to come by, and there's plenty of variants of 9mm PARA that I can use (full metal jacket, hollow point, sub-sonic...plus I can always make a mercury filled tip rounds myself

Hm...I first started with body building (yes, I know it's not a martial art)..I got really big and wanted to add some skill and coordination to the raw force..Kendo was my first martial art, I realy got into it..then I moved to Aikido..unfortunately, couldn't continue, due to imposible day routine I have lately..now days I just go to gym 3-4 times a week. A new Dojo is announced to be open in a whille, and hopefully it will have more acceptable working/training hours to my schedule, so I plan to continue with Aikido.

Thanks...I solved the problem with adding the defend station..but now I have a new one; I put a vehicle on a map, asign the guy to enter vehicle as driver, asign two more to enter vehicle as gunners, I set a path for the vehicle and speed, and when the missions starts, I hear gun shots from that direction. After I clear the map, I go to the vehicle, and find some 5-6 tangos dead..two of them in a back of the vehicle...so it looks like the tangos turned on each other...what am I doing wrong?

I guess the topic title says it all, but here it is once again; how do I asign friendly AI to operate a fixed weapon? I place the Friendly next to it, set him on hold, alert, suppress, cover...the lot...and the stupid bloke just ignores the stationary machine gun and fires his rifle...
So..what am I missing? How to make him operate the fixed weapon?

Personaly, I don't see why such mod shouldn't be made, especialy now, when other game developers are making games based on BHD event.
Still, based on my own (bad) expirience, I would sugest you to:
1) stay as away from actors' actual/simmilar names, as well as actual dates and places as humanly possible
2) make one helluva disclaimer
3)hire a lawyer (just in case points 1&2 fail)

lol..thanks, I know how to detach/skin faces...top of the receiver actualy has been detached and aplied different texture to it. I usualy don't do it with pistol grip since it's not that visible in game..sure you can see it now, in hi-res render, but in game it's barely visible.

Both of those guns look great Streinger! Will they be a part of a mod you're working on?
Yup...just scroll this topic up a bit..those guns will feature in an upgrade of Croatian Army mod. Actually, G3a3 already is in Cro mod, but the model will be replaced with this one I posted here, and G3a4 will go to a new specialist I'm putting in the mod.
There will be more new weapons in this upgrade...renders will be posted regulary as we are coming along with our work!

Well, I can tell you how to do it...just go to GR/Origmiss/Actors/MP Actor folder, there you'll find 4 folders, for multiplayer platoons 1-4. Open each one, then open each actor file with notepad, and just change the value of each actor's stats. If you want to ,say, boost actors leadership, under the line
<Leadership>3</Leadership> , change the number to what you want, for e.g.
<Leadership>9</Leadership> ...and so forth..
Now, will it affect your on-line playing...I really can't say. Best way is to try it out..you can always change it back if somethings turns out wrong.

Is there a good tutorial somewhere that covers making attachments? I checked Piggyson's, but I think it requires some adjusting of 3d sm in DOS, and since I'm running XP....
I can make an attachment, aply a texture to it, scale it and position it on a character..and then what? I know I have to export it as qob, but how do I make it "stick" to a character..are there some helper points like for the weps?

I suppose you made a custom wep..so for your sake I hope you saved it as 3dsm scene before exporting it as qob. What you need to do is open your wep in 3d sm, and make a ^MuzzleFlashPoint, position it at the end of the barrel and rotate it so that the "X" axis is pointing in the same direction as the barrel is..and then export is as qob. That should do it.

Or..(since Mike's utility has had some issues with some OS) you can d/l Hackman hack editor and use it to reskin your qobs. The process is pretty much the same...

Dang...it's way too big to be e-mailed...did you checked with Rocky if he has it in some archive maybe? If absolutely everything else fails, send me an e-mail with your address and I'll burn you a CD with all 5 videos and mail it via air mail..you'll get it within a few days.

@Tolen, no problem...'cept one; I have no idea how long extended butstock is. There's no pic of G3a4 with stock extended, it's always retracted. Now, if you could get me a pic (b/w is fine) of it..doesn't have to be hi res..just something that would give me reference on how long the damn thing is. I'm all for realism and I'd hate to do something wrong and be crucified in forum for it

(I was thinking about making it as long as the fixed butstok on G3a3, but it would probably be wrong. It's definetly shorter, but I have no idea how shorter)

Here's the gun from another angle...from what I found, it's G3a4...telescopic butstock, shorter barrel then G3a3, grey in color instead of green, 20rd box clip, 7,62mm NATO cal.

If you are absolutely positive that your map is OK, it could be simply that you don't have the right mod active. You have to activate the mod with your map in it, then try edit it with Igor.

thanks, lads....32 for me..what can I say..it may not look like much, but when I resume my life so far (one war,one tatoo, 3 cars, 4 bikes and god knows how meny girls, beer and cider)..I'm surprised I made it this far...
...ah, as long as I can bench-press 220+, I'm happy

I've even went farther than that and pioneered the first anti-tank .gun file using the simple but ingenius method of coding the .prj file with a visual anti-tank explosion. Thats what gives weapons the tank killing ability....not the anti-tank hand motions. But because my model for the ntw20 20mm amr wasn't finished yet, the first tank killing rifle was released by Streinger in the Croation Army Mod (RT-20 20mm).
As much as I would like to take a credit to that, I must say that it was @Jepetto that pioneered the path for me. Long before my RT-20 (and I presume your NTW-20 too) he made some sort of M-4/Masterkey, with underbarrel wep coded to kill tanks. That wep was never released in any mod and had alot of "bugs" to it...aiming was near impossible, short range, blast radius way too big (you could end up blowing your self up)..but it worked, and it gave me the right kind of ideas. I used that Masterkey as a starting point and refined it into a fine-tuned, realistic as possible (in GR engine terms) .gun file that RT-20 is using.

is it possible to round off the edges of the magazine clip in the weapon?
Sure it's possible...just select the object, go to "modify", choose "edges", select the edges you want rounded, and use "Chemfer" on them...

There's actually a great tutorial covering just that..check out the top of the page..
