in g.r. world, ak47(7.62x39mm) vs. m16(.223cal)
Streinger replied to cajun47's topic in GR (PC) - General Discussion
I saw a few posts here saying 5,56mm shoots streight and has low bullit drop.. now a friend of mine who was in the South African army (they use 5,56mm Vektor R-4, a Galil clone) told me that when shooting in savannah or in bushes, even a contact with thin branches or tall grass blades can change a trajectory of the bullit...I have very little expirience with 5,56mm..so any comment on that? I have far more expirience with 7,62x39mm, and I can say it has tramendous penetration power. When in woods, taking cover behind any tree that's less then 1ft in diameter is no cover at all..it will go righ -
will there be few weapons in GR2 if it exists?
Streinger replied to ragodamdiculus's topic in GR (PC) - General Discussion
@Piccolo, that wouldn't happen to be Springfield XD (HS 2000 in it's country of origin) by any chance? If not, do you know of any unit that uses them? (apart from LEO) -
@JTF-2, some of the weapons you saw on our site are already available..just download Croatian Army Mod v1.0. you'll find it in GR download section, look under equipment mods. The 1.0 version of Croatian Army comes with only 3 new missions, available as quick missions. Our plan for the 2.0 version is to re-work ALL of the weapons in the mod, so to make them M-70AB and H&K G3a3 quallity you saw rendered there. Also, a full 16 mission campaign is in the make for the mod...and some other goodies

@ZRated, not putting you down or anything..I agree, the dirt can get inside an exposed top of the mag...if you tape the mags facing in oposite directions. There is, however, a rather neat trick to avoid that; you take a fired brass case, put it between the two mags, a bit closer to the uper part, and then tape them together. The brass case works as a stand-off device between mag's openings and taped mags looks like a "V". That way, both mags are faced upwards and the dirt has little chance of getting in. Also, when you're swiching mags, you don't have to flip them in your hand to load the ful

Steyr carbine 407mm barrel - click on this and compare the shape of the gun. These are the pics I used for modeling this weapon.

Don't get it the wrong way..model is looking great, but those renders seem to be a little out of focus...fuzzy...can you post some sharp looking renders? I'd like to see details on the texture...that inox finish on the revolver looks great

This gun will be in Croatian Army Mod 2.0 which is currently under construction... The mod will feature this and other hi-detailed weapons by Black Sabbath and me (search this forum for my H&K G3a3 and G3a4 posted renders), new skins and characters, a full 16 mission campaign and some other cool stuff...

They came with a compliments of yours truly.. It's amazing what a man can do with a digital cammera and access to Croatian Army's weaponry.. Stand by for more great work by Black Sabbath

AUS_Viper is providing all the info on Aussie weapons and equipment..so yes, there will be some accesories-equipped Steyrs in ADF mod, mostly as specialist weapons. This is just a basic model for regulars. Expect some Steyrs wrapped in Aussie cammo duck-tape, integral suppressor version, carabine version (407mm barrel) commando version (350mm barrel) and some red-dot/night sights equipped versions. The model rendered here is a standard assault rifle version Steyr AUG with 508mm barrel.

??@budgie, I'm 32 and I bench press 110kg (240lbs)...being 30 doesn't mean you have to cut back... As for my other hobbies...riding (and customizing) bikes...so far I had 4 bikes..my first one was '55 BMW, then I moved to Moto Guzzi Falcone (military police model), then Kawasaki LTD, a cute little custom..nowadays I ride my Honda Bol 'd Or 900..oldie but goodie Shooting (in general) I like to shoot every gun I lay my hands on. Appart from shooting my HS 2000 and almost every rifle, SMG and MG in use by Croatian army, I hang 'round the shooting range and grab every oportunity to shoot som

@Marcinko (or should I say @GR Junky ) looking forward to try out the mod, any ETA yet? BTW, Croatian MPs are in Afganistan as we speak with the German contingent, so I'm following what's happening there closely....I'm thinking about an aftermath Afganistan mod...

@Argyll, I hope you're not suggesting that medical units are soft...my position during the Croatian war for independance (or as we refere to it "the Croatian Homeland War) was infantry/medic...belive me when I say I had to fight every bit as hard as the rest of the guys..with one exception; when there was a "man down" situation, rest of the guys would just grind their teeth and continue fighting, whille I had to drag the wounded comerade to safety, tend his wounds, stabilize him for transport, and then return to the fight. Another thing about being a medic, a thing that's more hard to do menta

First to cover the topic: during the war, I fired all kind of wepons...let's see...M-70, M-70AB (Yugoslavian AK-47 7,62mm variants)AKM 7,62mm (Rumanian AK 47), AK-74 5,45mm, FN FAL 7,62x51mm NATO, M-48 7,9mm carabin, M-58 7,9mm machine gun (Yugo MG 42 variant) DP 7,62 Nagant cal machine gun, Thompson '45 SMG, ERO 9mm SMG, CZ 7,65mm pistol, TT 7,62mm pistol, ZOLJA AT launcher (Yugo variant of LAW), several types of shotguns... M-70AB was my service weapon, so that's the gun I have the most extensive expirience with. Nowadays I own (and fire) only my HS 2000 9mm...

Here's a quote from an interview with Croatia' Ministry of Defence (19.02. 2003), just after Croatia signed a Vilnius group countries' statement of support to the US policy on Iraq And to back up our stand with actions, a company of Croatian Army Military Police will leave for Afganistan to join the German contingent there. Croatia will also support the US in it's future actions by providing a free "fly-over" zone and by giving the US aircraft carriers a free access to the Croatian Adriatic. Nothing much you might say, but as much as a small country can offer for the moment.... Now, jus

Both Glock and HS2000 have a simmilar "feel" to it...maybe (just maybe) HS2000 sits a bit lower in hand, but both guns have that rearward "nudge" when fired, as opose to the muzzle-bouncing recoil of almost every other gun. Just yesterday I was at the fireing range with my friend, who is a Baretta 92fs aficionado. Now, I realy cannot "trash" a Beretta, it's a great gun, but IMHO all the features of HS2000 plus it's compactness make it a better quick-draw combat shooting gun. Even my friend admits to that, but his main argument so far was he wants accuracy at 25yards+ distances, so he sticks

Ahhh..Glock. I still remember the first time when I layed my eyes on one. It was in Austria, the country of origin. Croatia is at spitting distance from Austria, and we have a "soft border"..you can enter the country with just your ID, no passeport needed. In one such visit, I belive I went shoping for some spare parts for my motorbike, I saw this big, blocky, plastic, almost toy-looking pistol in a holster of an Austrian cop...and I fell in love. I remember thinking; I must get me one of those! But the price was just too high.. And then the HS2000 came along ...and it was cheaper, every

Will do. In fact, the HS factory is located in the town I work in...I just might pay them a visit and see if there are some patches (or badges) available..
