Ruin, have you tried aligning the bitmap to the x/y/z axis? After you hit unwrap bitmap, scroll all the way down and check the box nex to the right axis..try them all out untill the texture is unwrapped in the way you want it to be. As for texturing screws, detach the end faces and texture them seperately.

@Earl, coming from you, it is truly a great compliment... About the muzzle flash hider; original M-16 had 3- pronged flash hider, A1 and all other models made afterwards had "bird cage" flash hider.

All I can say is that the weapon is modelled after a picture of an actual weapon...the flat top adapter is probably there to expand the choice of scopes to be mounted. This perticular ACOG scope probably doesn't need it, I agree, but we wanted the weapon to look "customised" to the perticular specialist's needs, rather then to make a factory stock model.... @SC, where were you when I needed you ? I thought the A1 version has the advanced iron sights (like the one rendered), and the A2 version has removable carry handle? Please enlighten me....

As far as I know (and I would be the first one to know), AUS_Viper still hasn't changed his mind...

I stand corrected...

Hm..I'm not trying to start a fight here, but I think you might be mistaken. Although G3 an MP5 have roller-deleyed bolt type, they still are gass operated (they have gass cylinder, piston and carrier that pushes the bolt backwards) AK-47 on the other hand has a rotation-locking bolt , a verry reliable bolt locking system, but the rotating masses cause the rifle to flip up and to the right, especialy when set to full auto fire. Forcefull cycling that you described is (I think) a trade of some SMGs, like old WWII Thompson M41A, MP40 Schmeisser and more contemporary UZI...

Agree 100%

CTD problems here, too...plus, since entire mod is packed as a zip file, I had to make the mod folder in my GR's mod folder and unzip it there...my suggestion is to check and doublecheck all the kit files, effects and what-not, and once you have it all nice and running, pack it up with "Install Maker", as it would make instalation of the mod a lot easier. Mod sounds great, I'm sure a lot of players would like to try it,as soon as you clear out all the bugs..

Not quite so...M4 is chambered for 5,56mm NATO rifle round, whereas H&K MP5 is chambered for 9x19mm Luger pistol round. Although both weapons are gass operated, which is tipical rifle construction, the ammo type actualy determines the first one (M4) as a carbine, (shortened rifle, since it's chambered for a rifle round), and the second one (MP5) as a SMG since it's chambered for a pistol round. No need to point out the M4 is far more powerfull then MP5.

Actually, I found an article saying the British MOD is thinking about abandoning SA80 alltogether (selling most of the stash to friendly countries) and adopting H&K G36 by 2006 or 2008...

Really was the Mp5 necessary for Ghost Recon?
Streinger replied to Aussie_Terry's topic in GR (PC) - General Discussion
Nope, the H&K MP5A6 will feature in the Opreration Stabilise mod AUS_Viper and me are making. -

I agree with Thumper; MP5 is a CQB weapon. If you use it right in the game, it will prove it's worth. However, I have to agree with the others saying it's way too inaccurate then the real thing. When I started to model my MP5 for the mod I'm working on, I contacted one of my brother's friends (a member of ALFA squad, Croatian equivalent of US SWAT team) and he told me MP5 is deadly accurate up to 50m. He also compared the recoil with that of the BB gun- virtualy none if you press the stock firmly against your shoulder. With all that in mind, I reduced the recoil significantly for my MP5... -
<gives Thumper a towel> Thanks.. I was lucky to find great pics...they made texturing realy easy.

If I remember correctly, the movie "Traffic" with M. Douglas and C. Zeta Jones was based on the mentioned "lady's" life...after her husband went to prison, she took over his entire organisation and continued to produce and push cocain. Later, when she ended up in court, one of the crimes she was acused of was execution of some of her rivals with her gold plated SMG... He's a genuine slave driver!!
-
Sure it does...it's militia leader's gun....ever heard of that drug- baron's wife that had a gold plated SMG?
-
Before enybody starts crying it's a waiste to give this gun to the main bad guy only, let me just remind you lot that all of the mod's weapons (this Colt '45 included) are available for multiplayer game...

Due to the engine limitation, it had to be coded as "tank-buster", as you put it. However, thanks to clever mission/ campaign scripting, you won't be sent to fight heavy-duty tanks (like T-72) armed with just 66mm LAW... it's quite adequate for busting tango APCs, though... PS: maybe I should add that this weapon, like all the others I did, comes with a holster point, so when not in use by an operative, it will be visible attached to his back, just like the in-game AT4.

Actually, Viper, I double-checked the side arm info for both Portugese and Brazilian armies, and it seems the both armies use 9mm sidearms- so it was supposed to be Glock 17 all along. The only mistake you made was calling it Glock 21.....I guess the time difference between Europe and Australia is taking it's tole on you...
-
Yes it is... I found a lot of pics with that metal part real light in colour, on some pics looking almost chromed....haven't the foggiest idea why it's made that way, but it's there...

Frostbite / Swedish Force Combo Mod
Streinger replied to GRIN_Wolfsong's topic in GR - General Mod Topics
I d/l Frostbite, but I can't install it...it starts to install, then I get CRC error; it says keep_shots.rsb file can't be installed... What might be wrong; corrupted file or something more benigne? Since Frostbite is partialy installed in my GR mods folder (all the files previous to "keep_shots.rsb file", some 11%), could I fix/trick the problem by putting the problem file directly into the apropriate folder and then try to install the mod? If so, could someone please mail me the keep_shots.rsb file -
True! I'm on 56k too, and a few nights ago I played a great mulitplayer match with some 12 other people..no lag at all. (thanks to Stalker Zero and Dr. Nitemare for inviting me )

Removal of TI will give that working bayonet a whole new meaning in multiplayer...
-
Actually, AUS_Viper doesn't do any 3DSM work in Op. Stabilise mod...it is his baby, he did all the skins, designed all the new specialists, is scripting all the missions and cinematics...but all the weapons are modelled by me
-
you cannot get that close to him..you'de be long dead if you tried...unless you can pee further then sniper rifle can shoot
