Simon Fitzpatrick Patrick Fitzsimon Kevin Brennan Sean Doherty Aemon Gaerlihy Tom Macanally There...now you have another six!
-
@Sixpence, I've seen and apreciated your work. Once you start the mod, contact me and we'll talk about the weapons needed.
-
Like I said in the previous thread that was started on the subject, I'm willing to contribute to the making of the mod by donating Steyr AUG rifle and FN MAG machine gun obviously needed for the mod's armoury. I even thought of converting my FN Minimi (made for Op.S. mod, with Elcan scope) to regular, non-scoped one to be used in the Irish army mod... Now, if someone else is willing to work with me on this one, I might be willing to do some more..
-
Yes, that was the original idea...however, one whole mag (30rds) turned out to be way too much ammo for a bayonet to ever be used. So Viper came up with simple (but briliant) idea to leave just one round in the rifle...
-
As unbeliveable as it may sound, the whole Op.S. team are 56k-ers! ('cept Jack57) So trust me when I say we do feel for other 56k users out there. We'll try (within our power) to make this mod available for everyone by all means...including some limited CD mailing. I'll definetly contact some local PC gaming magazines and have them release the mod on the CD that comes with the 'zine. And now back to making those restriction kil.files...

LOL...well, I'm in a steady relationship with a cute little blonde for 6 months now, so the only action I'm going to see will be strictly one-on-one.. drinking...most definetly. Although I'm trying to cut back on Guinness, my friends will surely throw a party, so that part can't be avoided. Shooting...I'm itching to try out 9mm teflon rounds I bought for my HS 2000...so yes, shooting I think I'll skip the last two...for obvious reasons..

First of all, merry x-mass everyone I think it's safe to say the mod will be ready for release sometime mid January...right about my b-day rampage is due to begin And some very angry Croatian Guard war-vets...
-
You lot, just leave the cats alone...bloody hell! Don't make me come after you! On a more serious note...now Viper is back, the work on the mod continues. Jack 57 should start working on mission 12 intro and outro cine (as soon as he sobers up from his b-day party) Viper should start working on mission 13. Giampi is continuously working on finding and fixing issues and bugs in previous missions (if any are found) As soon as Viper aproves my MP kit restrictions layout, I'll start working on restriction .kil files.
-
So 57 isn't your age? Does that also mean this isn't you on your avatar? I'm still picturing Wolfsong looking like his avatar, though...
-
Happy birthday Jack 57.... Er....are you now going to be known as Jack 58?
-
Blimey! We are now officially a part of internet lore!

It looks like something spawned in one-night adventure between M4 SOCOM and FN FNC Para...

Only 5 more days till AUS_Viper get's back behind his PC...
-
LMAO I'll take it to him, then...
-
yummie... Hm..there's also one other issue.. Without using the underbarel function, the character would have to carry twice the weight on him, since he is in fact carring two MAG 58s. That might penalize the character a bit too much, don't you think? It might move too slow... Now, we all know those heavy machine gunners were never intended to be sprinters, but still...

What a great idea! Too bad I couldn't think of it... Oh, well, one can't do it all... This will definetly add to the realism of heavy support weapons. Although, in real life, there would be a gunner's assistant handling all that extra ammo and the spare barrel.. Although I was a medic during my active time, i did all kind of crazy crap during the war, and in one ocasion that included assisting the gunner.. 4 of us went out on a self-given assignment to take out an enemy machine gun nest. Our gunner was carring an old (but good) MG-42 7,9mm with a 50rd belt packed in a metal drum conta

Anyone else a fan of the FN FAL ("7.62 Carbine")?
Streinger replied to Hath's topic in GR (PC) - General Discussion
The in-game FN FAL doesn't do the real thing justice. Stabilization time is way too long... I had some limited expirience with the weapon during the war in Croatia. Back then, my service rifle was M-70 (Yugoslavian AK-47 copy), but already some FN FALs have been introduced to the service, so I tried it a few times at the firing range. Packs quite a kick, in comparrison to M-70, it's very accurate in semi auto mode, yet completelly inaccurate in full auto... it's fairly easy to disasemble and to clean. Again , in comparrison to any AK-47 variant, it's more sensitive to dust and dirt, but agai -
Damn, @avey, you posted the renders of the incorrect model...the suppressor on that one is wrong..to big and covers too much of the barrel. I'm not saying it's your fault, I made a mistake modeling it and corrected it later...but I thought those renders aren't posted anywhere any longer, where the heck did you find the link!? Here are all the M4s featuring in Op.S. mod, including the SD variants;
-
No problem, @Thumper...it's just that I made exactly the same mistake with my MAG 58 model, and received the same criticism... Your model looks simply great, so it would be a shame if one little inaccuracy would open it to some less-then-nice "criticism".. (read: "spitting all over it")
-
Hm...shouldn't the ammo box be hanging on the side of the weapon, and not below it?
-
I spoke with AUS_Viper about that...although there was some Italian involvment in East Timor, Brazilians played much bigger role there, since Portugese is one of the official languages in E.T. Due to Brazil's ethnically rich population, he thought it wouldn't be too far fetched to make Giwex an Italian-origin Brazilian operative...

Exactly...alot of modern tanks have tracking devices and sensors, so if you miss with your first shot, you have aprox. 5 seconds to say your prayers...it takes that long for the tank to spot your exact position...

Back in the '90s, M-70 (Yugoslavian AK-47 copy) was primary weapon in Croatian army... Nowadays, our professional soldiers use FN-FAL and ERO (Croatian UZI copy)..but that is the subject for some other thread...and quite possibly some other mod
