  2. im afraid that i have to disappoint you in this matter. frankly speaking, it seems that im not able to solve the problems with the sandf mod. im so annoyed about this, cos i spent so many months trying to do something good for people to enjoy and to give back something to this good community. everything is working fine with the Mac version of SANDF, so im going to do things for the Mac platform it seems for now. maybe help people with the odd job here and there if someone should need a hand. /ingeloop

  7. thanx so much guys! with your help and some playing with photoshop im beginning to get things going going to post some screenies so you can judge for yourself. tested to do a china marine camo and three diff. swiss alpenflage camos. looks kinda cool, but im not so sure the swiss guys have special forces though. / ingeloop
  8. hi guys! i wonder how you make those skin swatches that is around. usually measures 512x512px. how do you get the pic of the camo "down to paper" so to speak? i just can´t get it right. i have browsed thru the tutorial section and found some very nice swatches made by wildcat and stalker. how can you make things like that? best regards/ ingeloop

  10. i looked thru a clean newly DL´d PC equip gun file and noticed that when looking at info/properties about the file it had the archive box checked. is that important? i looked at the sandf .gun and .prj files, they had not this box checked. can this be a clue? can it be so simple? i also noticed when looking at the info/properties most of the gun files had a peculiar ms-dos name like r5~67sd.gun instead of r5_sd.gun. how come? / ingeloop
  11. I spent a little while playing about with things last night and split the mod into three: missions, weapons and characters. Missions depends on the others, so I didn't experiment with that, but weapons (with fixed strings.txt) causes a crash to desk-top, characters doesn't (at least not that I saw). The CTD occurred before I had selected any of the weapons, so it looks like GR does even more pre-loading/parsing of files than I had previously believed. All in all it looks like the problem is with the weapons files rather than the characters. I'll let you know if I find anything more. DWG
  12. giweda, wait with the DL m8. im doing some research and working to get this mod working for PC. keep that in mind guys. im doing my best here. but i have also thought to get this mod of the PC platform and just have it for Mac. but that is no good, since so many have PC and i have recived so much help from all the PC guys here at the forum. so i will continue to try to solve these issues. my advice to all of you: 1. DL the mod if you think you can come with some input on how to solve this. 2. wait with DL until it get fixed. choose either way m8´s /ingeloop
  13. i found out something!!!! browsing thru the SANDF folder (pc version) i discovered in the map folder some files that were 0k in size but had the same names as the diff maps in the folders. hmmm i thought i looked in the other folders of the sandf mod and found more of these buggers. ) when making the mod i have marked up the diff. files with color, for instance black soldiers got black atr files and desert chr´s got yellow marking on their files. i wonder now if that can be the issue cos these 0k files comes first in each folder. please look thru the folders. in the actor an
  14. the sandf folder itself, what has it? is it just sandf or is it sandf - pc? the proper name shall be sandf , no more no less can that be an issue? from what i´ve seen in the posts the problem seem to be after reading the briefing. when you should pick the soldiers the game CTD. is this when you start a campaign or playing quickmission sa06-clean sweep? /ingeloop
  15. im trying to figure things out here. sixpence pointed out an issue with the strings.txt file and it has to be resaved as a pure TEXT file. im so puzzled about this situation really. richmondskin tested out the atr´s, chr´s in his missions and he got no CTD /ingeloop
  16. im sorry to hear that so many have problems with this PC version or so i thought. since i don´t have a PC it´s hard for me to test things out properly. sixpence pointed out that there were issues with the strings.txt it has occured to me that the .gun files can be the same. / ingeloop

  19. im having trouble now too, tried with the safari browser for Mac. but i had succes earlier with firefox and DL host nr.1. strange! my tip is that the server is quite busy with something. really, this is out of my control m8, im no wiz-guy with filefront. maybe rocky or someone in the GR.net staff can shed some light. / ingeloop
  20. hi lethal! about the edit note that says the DL never starts. i´ve just tried and DL the Blakops pack, it takes some time to reach filefront. many visitors and a busy server? but i manage to DL wo problem. so please try again and be a bit patient /ingeloop

  22. now that´s a bad connection giweda, but as they say: all good things...... i have also submited a correction to the sandf DL link. the SANDF version at GR.net is for PC only. the Mac version is hosted by Macgamingmods.com /ingeloop

  24. ok guys! so this is it. the SANDF mod is ready to be uploaded. i have contacted rocky and got some upload instructions. this is where im going to upload the PC version of the SANDF mod. i will also contact monoman at the macgamingmods.com and upload the Mac version there. due to rl issues to members of the mod group, things have taken time, but i hope that you can forgive us for that. this is my first mod release and im tempted to see how you guys will think about this creation. also would i like to thank the guys at this forum for all the help recive during these months of w
